So we did the Foodie run 30mins before kitchen closed at Crossroads Gastro Pub we didn't stay at Royal..excellent meal ..steak was puurrfect and the garlic sauce 😋 👌 🙌 😍 awesome atmosphere ..Our waitresses Pane and Sam were excellent ..loved the owners too

We went to the Royal for dinner on new year's eve had the most amazing dinner everything was cooked just right, we had 3 courses and enjoyed all of it and luckily for us this night they had inhouse entertainment which was a real treat and 1st class. The staff were great we asked for a recommendation
A spur of the moment decision that I'm glad I made. Despite an obviously busy night, the staff remained friendly. Very reasonably priced accommodation. Clean. The menu too was reasonably priced. Delish. Will definitely call again.
My wife and I stayed at The Royal Opotiki for several nights over the past two weeks. We stayed in a family unit and we found it just right for our needs. There is a great international atmosphere and the facilities were great. They have a great outdoor area to relax in and a fully equipped kitchen

Really enjoyable stay, the whole place was very clean with comfortable beds and great rates. Excellent high speed unlimited wi-fi. Owners were very friendly with great advice about nearby beaches.

It was a Saturday morning and 12 oclock noon rolled around and we hadn't even finished our laundry. But we choose to have a delicious breakfast served in a lovely manner with the most soul warming meal at the Royal. Where we were later told to be back at 8 for a 70s theme party and a DJ.

I went here for dinner about a week ago and was wonderfully surprised. Although they had mixed up our reservation they quickly sorted it out and the food was delicious, dessert was my favorite! Lovely waiters and also loved the local art work for sale around the restaurant.
The Royal is now owned by Crossroads, lovely service with fabulous food. I tried the Prawn Fettuccine and it was absolutely fabulous. Thank you for a beautiful lunch ☺️
Had dinner here Saturday night, the meal was the best I have had in a long time! Nice house red and friendly service. The lady running the accommodation was lovely to deal with helpful with some good ideas on what to do in opotiki.
Excellent meals this time. Not cheap meals. Very enjoyable experience. Will go back, not as often as in the past though due to prices.

We enjoyed our meal but we found the flies landing on table and our plates was not nice. On entering the Royal we already found the background music really loud.The staff were fantastic and busy.
I stayed one night at the Hotel. It was a somewhat late arrival, but Heather greeted me with a warm smile. The room was comfortable and clean as was the bathroom. I received a 10% discount in the restaurant as a guest. Heather chatted with me for a bit which was nice as I was travelling sola. Hope y
Good quality food, the chef didn’t manage to make my steak a medium rare as I ordered. But anything else was quite good.
The female waitress on Friday 9th October was outstanding, attentive, positive and happy The food was excellent will recomend to others, as we were by the hosts of Kowhai Rest, Kevin and Vicky.
