Best karaage chicken in town. This place should have a 5 star rating all day long. Just try it. Food is made with love. Dumplings are insane. Some of the best Japanese dumplings anywhere.
Loved this meal very much! Had the vegan kimchi tofu temaki, the tofu temaco, the Korean pancakes and the vegan gyoza and everything was delicious! Service was fantastic and tasty food so honestly couldn't fault anything! Definitely coming back
Have eaten here several times, great food reasonably priced and very hospitable owners, particularly luv their Ramen, highly recommended and great to have a place like this in this area where most restaurants are pretty average especially around the water front, most praying on their position rather than the quality of their food.
This is a great place for a casual and delicious meal.
Friendly and fast service with beautifully presented and interesting fresh food.
Definitely highly recommend it!
Super friendly and professional service, I received a great explanation about the concept and the ingredients. The Tamaki was just as described: crunchy nori (now chewy, yay), fresh and good quality ingredients. The menu is very interesting so I hope to come back and try different things.
Went to Temakeria for lunch recently. Firstly I was greeted by a warm and friendly server who took time to walk us through the menu and advise what he recommended. The food came promptly and roughly at the same time.
We ordered the fried chicken, spicy sea tacos and, three different versions of temakis. Each dish was flavourful and delicious. I highly recommend the spicy sea tacos as it was packed full of fresh ingredients and the hit of the spice really brought together the dish.
Ultimately I recommend that you go and try it out. The menu is unique and full of exciting dishes although I recommend this place for lunch as the menu suits that meal best. The atmosphere of the restaurant is clean and overall the design is amazing.
They have quite a lot of interesting items on their menu so grabbed a few things to share. The temaco was quite interesting, nori shell filled with spicy seafood. Nice flavours but quite small. The temakis (large cone-shaped sushi) are also quite nice and the sizing isn't too bad. We tried the soft shell crab and the spicy salmon and both were tasty. The dumplings were ok but it was weird that there was one with a prawn tail coming out of it while the other three didn't. Also tried the Karaage donburi. The chicken was nice but I didn't like the sauce that much since it had an almost bitter taste.
The food is quite nice but depending on how hungry you are it could add up quite fast. Between two people we had 2 temakis, 1 donburi, the temaco, and the dumplings and I was still kinda peckish afterwards. They have a large table up front but there were a few tables by the kitchen. We grabbed a seat and once ready went up to the counter to order.
Great food and fast service. Tried their chicken karaage - it was crispy and well-seasoned. This is like a must-have especially with my kids whenever we come to Eastridge.
Great place, food and service. Ordered a few temakis - spicy salmon, cream cheese, softshell crab, kimchi pork. Got the gyoza and spicy sea taco. Top picks were kimchi pork, spicy salmon, softshell crab and tacos. Everything we ordered was utterly delicious. Cream cheese was a little too dry but still tasty. Kept ordering more because it was so delicious. The cones have decent fillings with a good balance of sauce to make sure it's not too overdried by too much rice. Service is also great. Let's hope they keep it up.
Excellent food, great service and lovely people. This is far and away some of the best #Japanese and #Korean influenced food in Auckland, and the only place specialising in #Temaki. Their fried chicken is amazing! And so is everything else. Definitely check it out.
Best Japanese food I think I’ve ever had in Auckland! My friend and I had the prawn and karaage chicken sushi rolls, squid tentacles, and the pork and prawn gyoza. We shared and it was the perfect amount of food. We ordered a lemonade as well and only came to about $25 each! Was expecting it to be far more expensive with such amazing quality. You also get to watch the chefs make your food which I love, and the kitchen is all female - so cool to see! Will be back here very soon.
My first time at Temakeria was superb! The karaage chicken was amazing. The salmon for my donburi was perfect. The service was great. The owners were friendly. The place was lovely. I cannot wait to come back!
First time to the new showcase of pop ups at Eastridge. TEMAKERIA for dinner delights tonight. I had a couple of starters - the Tofu and Crab Shack cones, however i know to turn up with a empty stomach in future - i just wanted to taste it all. Great atmosphere and really nice and welcoming staff. You leave with a big smile 😀
The egg was cooked perfectly soft and the balance of ingredients and flavours was excellent. I can't be 100% sure, but I'm pretty sure they used silverbeet instead of spinach, and the more local/seasonal flavour was delicious. Kimchi was on the fresher/crunchier/milder side. The tastiest bibimbap I've had in Auckland.
Really enjoyed my dining experiences at The Eatery and Temakeria. Good, efficient service and tasty. Not pictured is the tonkatsu ramen that had well-rendered char siu. Also not pictured is the bimbimbap which was really tasty! Highly recommended.
En passant for this mall to satisfy our hunger, when we encounter this gem out of sudden. We well know the Temakeria, quite widespread in our hometown São Paulo and we gave it a go. Rodrigo, the owner, super nice and friendly, reintroduced us to this unique Japanese-Brazilian style. I tried the spice temaki and my boys each one got a different taste. They all loved. My wife gotta a chicken teriyaki on the plate, delicious according to her. We will come back without any doubt. Glad to find it!
Okay let's be honest for a second, we basically stumbled upon this place hap-hazardly but WOW. From being greeted by the host and smiles from the cooks we knew this was going to be a great experience. Our host knew every dish and guided us through what would our best experience. We ordered a hand roll (spicy salmon), Gyoza (pork and prawn), Don's [rice bowl] (Karaage Chicken Donburi). All were amazing and flavorful. Completed it with a ManOWar Red blend glass of wine and our meal was complete. This restaurant is part of a group of many resturants all of different cuisines. Therefore you will no go hungry and find something you will not like. Please go and you will not be disappointed.
So thank you Temakria, we will be back, sooner than later.
Loved this place. Food is so tasty. The owner is super friendly and welcoming. I was over visiting New Zealand and he was made sure I had a great meal. Fantastic service and again the food is delicious. Located at East Ridge Eatery which allows groups to choose from different restaurants but still sit together.
Love their temaki, especially the brasileirinho (salmon & cream cheese). I have eaten in Temakeria since they were a food truck. Jenny and Rodrigo are lovely and all of their staff are really nice.
Sushi on another level!
Had the Temaki rolls: salmon/kimchi pork were 10/10.
Must go to if you haven’t been here before for and try something new and exciting!
Will be back
