From Sydney and came to NZ to try Maori food. Was a great experience. The owner or staff member was lovely. Enjoyed trying something different!
We searched all over New Zealand for a hangi and finally found it! The hangi flavor was so good! We got the pork and chicken (poaka and heihei miti) and started to eat our lunch inside. While there we were aggressively panhandled by a pretty scary local guy which made us decide to take our food and
Kapai kai reasonable price I had brisket boil up was reka steam pudding was beautiful they even made me a cuppa tea which was awsome
Wanted to try Hangi since I heard about it, very difficult to come by unless you go to a maori experience, which can he pretty expensive, there used to be 2 shops in Auckland, but one closed down without notice, so this is now the only store. The food was fast, the service was good and it was a nice
You'd be amazed eating here or take away. Service is absolutely welcoming feeling. Menu is fulfilling as expected being Maori or not. đź’Żpercent. Gosh has been a very long time years since I last eaten Maori Boil Up. This is what I call it. Loved every moment brought back old memories childhood. That
Work family had lunch here. My first time to be here. Excellent customer service, friendly and welcoming staff. Clean environment and so yummy food. We had pork hangi and a boil up. Big portion. Will definitely be back here đź‘Ť
Great food! Our favourite was brisket boil up
Been here more than a few times and the Hangi and Boil Up is always on point. The steamed pudding is also very nice. Jonah Lomu has even left a comment n autograph which is framed in the shop so that's all the convincing one may need to eat here. Highly recommended!!
I lived in NZ over 26 years and it’s quite sad that our tradition food aren’t easily accessible. Except that when we went Rotorua trip when I was young and tried hangi at the hotel with Maori show (not sure if it was even authentic) this was my first time eating boil ups. I loved every bit of it. Wi
Great place to try out hangi, but not sure how genuine it is, especially how they cook it. Service was good, and there is a toilet available at the back of the shop. Business was for sale when I was there
We were driving past and figured we will stop by and try some traditional maori food. The lady at the counter kindly explained to us the menu so we knew what to order. Hangi is wholesome and comforting. Must try if you are nearby.
Yum ! Yum ! Yum !
Saw this place driving through Otahuhu
Got pork & Chicken gourmet hangi meal.
Absolutely delicious food.
Generous portion
Fresh veg well cooked
Got chicken and pork Hangi meals and a pork boilup. Not bad, reminds me of stewed vegetables. Also got a loaf of rewena bread which is good with ourmate. Definitely try this place out to taste some traditional Maori food.
Nice place but I needed sauce with my hangi as it was rather bland and quite a small serving for $16 there was only one of each vege I thought there'd be 2 of each or more potato. The steamed pudding and fried bread were yummy though.
