We stumbled upon this place just looking for a quick bite to eat and we’re so glad we did! It’s a cute little cafe with outdoor seating and wonderful selection of food and drinks! We got the hot chocolate, slab cake and the pinwheel! All three were excellent and worth coming back for! Also the service is great too, they were very kind and welcoming!

I really love my experience at this cafe. The workers were all very friendly, kind and helpful. And the atmosphere is lively with cool and funky paintings on the walls etc. Me and my mum got a hot chocolate and a cheese and greens muffin each and they were both delicious. Probally one of the best cheese and spinach muffins I have ever had. We really look forward to our Pahia visits because we know how amazing the food, drinks and staff at the third wheel are.

Wonderful selection of food - all delicious but the mushroom muffins are in a class of their own. Good coffee and love the fact that tea is served in elegant cups and teapots. Super friendly staff. A MUST stopover if you are visiting. Or perhaps I should keep it a local secret ….Sue and Brian

Wow! Like previous reviewers have said, the Cheese and Greens Muffins are to die for. They give you butter to go with them, but you don’t need it. They’re light, fluffy and very tasty. Good, hot coffee too! Definitely worth finding down the laneway between the Green’s Indian and Thai restaurants!

Not only did the Third Wheel Coffee Co. have epic customer service, their food and coffee were to die for. Melt in your mouth super fresh cinnamon bun and baby cake for a special birthday, complete with birthday candle and back up singers. This is 100% the place to visit.

Best cafe in Paihia! Great coffee and a fresh selection of food prepared daily. Friendly, relaxed vibe and a perfect location right beside the beach. The outdoor seating area is lovely and vibrant. Décor is cycling themed, which lends itself well to the chilled out vibe of the place and its staff. Do try the cinnamon buns! Also, the fresh salads are lovely — they’ll even combine salads for a lovely sampling. My ‘go to’ cafe!

They where a little crowded at the beginning but we managed to get a spot. Place is a little hidden, yet very good, had the hot chocolate and a muffin really enjoyed! Plus they sell local art! Cute little place

I have only been in Paihia for about a month and this quaint little place is just perfect to unwind and have a great cup of coffee and a wonderful breakfast or snack. The couple running this place is lovely and very friendly. All their food and pastries are made fresh daily and really healthy. A great place to just have a good book or surfing the internet...
