Started with fresh oysters.
Thought the serve of mussels were small but it taste yummy! Pizza was amazing as so as the fish of the day.
This was a perfect evening with an incredible view and surprisingly amazing food! Usually the waterfront places are very touristy and don’t serve the best food, but Charlotte’s kitchen was exceptional! Also the staff was very friendly and helpful, especially Raj :-) this is a Must when in Paihia!
They have a good selection of cocktails. There are many vegan options. Why the vegan Pizza Al Funghi comes without tomato sauce but only with vegan cheese is a mystery to me - I would rather do without the vegan cheese but the 🍅 sauce instead.
This has nothing to do specifically with this restaurant, but I notice that New Zealanders cook very greasy.
I would go back to this beautifully located restaurant anytime.
Massive pizza here, great spot to enjoy some food before or after a cruise. We shared a couple of pizza between 3 of us and there was plenty to eat.
Sunday roast from 3pm. Live music too.
Then we shared a pizza on a different day. Both extremely good and tasty and the staff seem to be happy and enjoy being there. Makes the experience really good. All this at the end of the Paihia pier great views.
Was very windy and heavy rain but the atmosphere inside was warm and busy. Welcoming staff and one of the best beef steak I have ever had. 😋 kids enjoyed their menu mini size was really good size for my 4 year old with little left over. 😀
Went for dinner by the waters at this beautiful restaurant- definitely weren't let down from the moment we arrived, a bit early but seated immediately. Attentive and knowledgeable server. Tried the Oysters and hands down best Oysters we have had!

Nice spot on the water. Service and food has improved significantly since last year. The pizza dough has definitely been improved to a higher standard and as a whole are much better.
The burger was amazing. The sashimi is good. The oysters were good.
Main concerns are that it can be a long wait to be seen at the entrance regardless of whether you have booked and the price of the pizza is very expensive. I've never seen a pizza at $32-$33 before.
Pretty mediocre for the price tbh. Meat and fish may be better here based on other reviews, but as a vegetarian, the meals were nothing more than okay (excluding the crispy potatoes - those were 👌🏻). Considering this was the most expensive meal we’ve had in NZ thus far, I feel it was pretty lack-lustre. Beautiful spot and friendly staff though.
Had a great experience at Charlotte's Kitchen, beautiful ambience upon entry, we arrived a little early for our booking, but the staff were very friendly and got us our seat straight away. Our food came very timely, entrees were really fresh and delicious. And the mains really well cooked, the steak was tender and juicy, and the fish was just perfect. I'd highly recommend this place on your next trip to Paihia but be sure to book early, as these guys are popular!
Best seafood, locally caught, prepared by a chef and team who know what they’re doing. The market fish in golden burnt butter sauce was the standout, but the menu is so diverse so you pick dishes like miso eggplant and Korean style calamari and everything matches so well.
Only note is about the crumbing of the calamari - such fresh seafood is so much better without the dress-up. Despite this, we had an awesome dining experience.
Beautiful restaurant right on the water, we unfortunately had a miserable wet evening for our dinner but it would be absolutely amazing to be there on a sunny evening overlooking the water! Had squid to start and they were delicious. For mains we had scotch fillet and it was cooked to perfection, melt in your mouth it was the nicest steak I've had in a long time!
Awesome restaurant right at the end of the wharf overlooking the water from all sides. The food is easily the best we've had in the bay of islands.
Super fun vibe with funky cocktail cups.
The fish of the day & oysters with lemon mignonette are must trys!

Last night was the second time we went to Charlotte's Kitchen and on both this and the previous occasion (three weeks prior) stand out as my most pleasant dining experiences in recent memory.
On both occasions we started with delicious espresso martinis followed by an entree (we can recommend both the oysters and the calamari), main course and a cheese board instead of dessert.
Also, on both occasions, we ordered one of two sharing platters for our main course. On our first visit we had the Taste of Tangaroa, a mixed seafood platter, with a side dish of beetroot / feta / candied walnuts / pukara balsamic / citrus dressing. For our second visit we enjoyed Slow Roasted Pork Knuckle with side dishes of asparagus and herb roasted potatoes. Every course of every meal was beautifully prepared and presented.
We were also very grateful for the wonderful service and recommendations from the waiting staff, which was always polite, helpful and efficient without ever being intrusive.
To sum it up, this was a wonderful dining experience and I'm very happy to recommend this excellent restaurant.

Fantastic food - definitely try the salmon pizza, there's plenty to share. Strong drinks, tasty starters, and great views define the dining space, but it did get very noisy once the restaurant filled up.
I could not rave more about our experience at Charlotte’s Kitchen on Saturday evening. We hosted a family reunion there with difficult dietary requirements (almost half of us are coeliac!) and the food was exquisite. We dealt with the night manager, Michelle, and her bubbly and attentive manner was unparalleled compared to any restaurant I can think of. We ordered a series of canapes, cheese boards and drinks and all exceeded expectation. The whole family came away raving about the quality of the food and service and a two-hour event turned into dinner and many, many more drinks too. The biggest thank you to Michelle and the Chef at Charlotte’s Kitchen for making our weekend. If we were staying longer we would have gone back for breakfast, lunch and dinner without a doubt!
