Hands down our favourite Indian restaurant/takeaway in Palmy. Consistently great food. Highly recommend.

Amazing curry , always a great time had lunch or evening meal. Best curry in Palmerston North without a doubt the nann bread always crisp and fresh. A+
HI Everyone, I have been to this lovely indian Restaurent at Summerhill Drive for so many times that I feel I should tell you about it. This restaurant has a good ambience for dinning and provide excellent tasty and flesh food and great spicy fish or meat or just vegetarian cuisine. The manager and staff are very friendly. Great place for a lunch curry or dinner. The price is in expensive and you should bring your friends too like I did. I travel a lot and when I return from overseas trips this is a must have Indian Curry lunch or dinner every week. I love my favourite Lamb curry here and medium Hot. I am sure you will agree with me this is a Fine Excellent Indian Restaurent after you have your first lunch or dinner there.
I love the Indian Summer Resturant! Eating a curry for lunch on Friday has become a ritual. We always find the staff friendly and very helpful. The food is always top quality and VERY tasty. I am yet to be let down after many, many meals there. And you can't beat the value, $10 for a great Curry, a Naan, and rice!? Brilliant!
Best Indian restaurant in town! Does very yummy naan bread, love their $10 lunch deal, definitely very student-friendly! I would recommend to pre-order takeaways on the phone to save you from the long wait at the restaurant particularly at weekends, since they are always busy!
I have been to Indian summer last Friday with a group of 6, the place was really busy. The ambience was really good. We had an great food, the quantity and quality was superb. If we talk about the price that is really reasonable. We were recommended by our friends and find it right decision to been here. This is best place in town for Indian meal. The service staff is very friendly . Thx Indian summer for our lovely dinner.
Easily the best indian food I've ever eaten.Scrumptious butter chicken to-die-for.Really great service with a smile. My Dads Curry Club (8 or so blokes) have tried every indian restaurant in Palmy and Welly and they say Indian summer is the best of the lot:)
Some friends and I went for lunch. While there is a limited menu, I was impressed by the value for money (piles of rice and naan bread!) and the very quick and friendly service. The premises are very clean and well maintained. I'll definitely go back.
The Chicken Tikka Masala here is to die for! I personally think it's the best Indian food in Palmy. Big Naan breads and nice sized portions. Free parking if you want to eat in also. Not many seats so I would probably call ahead though. Highly Recommended!
A wonderful warm experience ! Loved the food 5/5! Recommend this restaurant 100%
We went to Indian Summer last night after checking reviews for Indian dining in PN. We were not disappointed. The food was excellent - fresh, prompt and as described in the extensive menu. Your choice of "hot" - mild, Kiwi hot , Indian hot and beyond! What was more surprising was the reasonable prices even for the wine. The best Indian we have had in PN. Definitely worth a return visit very soon.
I've only ever had takeaway from Indian Summer and the food has been, without fail, absolutely delicious. The currys are beautifully flavoured and they are also really generous with the amount of meat in the currys plus the naan breads are absolutely enormous! The service is always really friendly and efficient. Highly recommended.
Dined with a large group today for lunch and I am very impressed. Such great value for money and everything perfectly cooked. The curry I tried had great depth of flavour and was true medium heat. Really nice interior dining space, high backed chairs. Love it. Will be back for sure.
This place is WIN cake, covered in AWESOME sauce!
I always go here, and is hands down the best place for Indian food. Moreover, the service by the Maître de is great. He's very generous, professional and courteous to the customers. They are very busy on Fridays, so best to book ahead and arrive early!
And while they are "out of the way" from Kelvin Grove side of town, the trip and the subsquent meals thereafter, are MORE than worth it :)
I really like this place.
Got takeaways first and the young guy who runs it is really nice.
For $20 got enough for me and my rapidly growing teenage son.
When there for a sit down dinner with a mate last week on a wednesday and it was busy. About $25/hd and we were stuffed.
The vege hotplate shared entree was excellent.
All nice people there and vnice food - one of those local secrets.
We go to Indian Summer about once a week for the lunch special ($10 for any curry on the menu, fluffy rice and yummy naan). Service is great - the main waiter always has a smile, is efficient and very professional. The curry is fantastic (never disappointed, ever).
It is the nicest Indian food I have ever had.
Absolutely delicious!, we had the Butter Chicken medium spice level and cheese naan. We try all Indian restaurants wherever we go and this food is in the top of our list of 5 best. Do yourself a favor and try for yourself.
This is at the top of our list! Take out or dine in, you can't go wrong.
Gluttonous portions
Outstanding quality
Impeccable service
I could go on, so definitely try Indian Summer and definitely grab a mango and strawberry Lassi!
Lovely food and service. We ordered Chilli chicken, butter chicken, chicken fried rice and lamb khadai. All the food was very tasty. Best thing all are halal.
Great place for takeaways. Fast and friendly service. Good price point too. We had the garlic naan, vegetable korma and butter chicken- all delicious
Really good food, full of flavour and not oily.
Priced fairly and mains come with rice, we are regulars now
For years still the best tandoor and amazing menu.
Must be eaten hot. Don’t let it sit around.
Great menu, fantastic food and service.
Had a really fun Tuesday night at Indian Summer with family over from Australia. Prawn jalfrezi - beautiful. Hero of the night was special goat curry. Garlic nans. Sag alloo. Washed down with Kingfisher. The services is relaxed and full of humour. Just right. Highly recommend.
Very good food. Staff very friendly. Food was good value for money too. Looking forward to making this place my local.
Been coming here since being a poor uni student years ago. Would live off plain pasta through the week to save the $$ to come and have a meal straight from heaven. Hasn't changed in all these years. Still delicious, still great service and always leave incredibly satified.
Friday evening we visited Indian Summer restaurant, Aokautere.
The restaurant was busy and a number of customers arrived to collect orders while we were there.
Drinks ordered, we selected our mains and sides from the menu.
Our meals arrived looked so tempting and were delicious.
I'd ordered the Lamb and Mushroom Masala with coconut rice and fruit naan. Highly recommended.
The service was excellent and a very pleasant evening was enjoyed by our party.
We just had the lamb shank curry. It was the best curry I've ever had. Seriously I didn't know you could make food that tastes that good. If they ever have this special again make sure you try it. I don't care if you aren't in Palmerston North it's worth the trip. You have to try the lamb shank curry!
