Outstanding friendly service, and outstanding delicious, well seasoned, well presented food. Highly recommended.
Friendly and very nice food
Absolutely enjoyed every dish we ordered. The Pinsec Fritos are highly recommended. Cannot wait to go back and try the other dishes.
I'm ashamed to say as a true foodie my experience of Fillipino food is limited except for a brief brush with it at Axon some years ago (a fabulous sadly short lived spot in Parnell). Luckily, I have re discovered the chef Leo Fernandez ( ex Pig Hunter on MasterChef) at Melting Pot, somewhere you should seek out. Excellent food - casual, authentic atmosphere and exceptional service from FOH, Mark. Melt in the mouth beef and amazing fish escabache, I will be back to try the rest of the menu! Lizzie
The food is so so goooood! The service was excellent, the waiter was polite and attentive and always checked in on us and also recommended some of the dishes as it was our first time here. All the 4 entree’s we had (Fritos, tofu, soft shell grab & salmon ceviche) we’re tasty and followed by the 2 mains (pork karekare, crispy sizzling pork) and they all didn’t disappoint..We definitely will be back again to try some other dishes:)
Wow wow woww. Food heaven in this humble restaurant in Panmure. Ordered the following for an early dinner-- Lumpia Sariwa, Chicken Inasal, Fish Escabeche, Pork Kare-Kare and Halo Halo for dessert. Everything was so yummy. The Lumpia was a revelation. It wasn't the usual one I ate before but as yummy as what I had remembered it to be back in Philippines. The fish was enticing we loved that a lot. It was an enjoyable experience and will come back for more.
Went here for a late lunch and we were warmly welcome by a gentleman. The meals were very flavorful and delicious. We will definitely come back again to try their new dishes.
Yummy filipino food. We loved the pork bbq karekare and siomai that we have ordered. second time here. we'll be back
Delicious! Friendly Staff 🤗.
I absolutely love the customer service we were given by the girl who served us. The food was very delicious as well, the honey soy squid w/ kumara being a favourite as it was very unique and nice to the palette. The kare kare is what you would expect for Filipino food and the other two dishes were good. Waiting time for food was average, the ambience was very nice and gave a comforting feel. Would come back here again.
Best Filipino food in Auckland! ❤️ This is my first time to try this Filipino restaurant and I really enjoyed it. I was expecting the usual taste and presentation like other Filipino restaurants but I was wrong. I really like how they presented each food (so beautiful and classy) and it really taste good. We ordered Beef Sinigang, Pot Pot Chicken, Fish Escabeche, Grilled Pork and Siomai. All food are amazing 😃 My personal favorite is the beef sinigang and pot pot chicken. Pot Pot Chicken taste like Max chicken in Philippines. We will definitely come back and will try their other offerings 👍
It is AMAZING! My restaurant of the month! My boyfriend and I literally finished every last bite, even the fish bones.... The fish is phenomenal, everything is amazing, will definitely come back
We got Kare-kare & Crispy Sizzling Pork Dinakdakan . Plus a jug of ice tea. It was very yummy! Defs coming back again :) The manager was super friendly, love their service
A good option in the area, the vibe is pretty cool like you walked in to beach bar. The service was friendly and food came out quickly. My favorite from this visit was the grilled chicken. Good taste and smoking smell with some yummy sauce under it. The soft shell crab was good too, the sauce taste like some thai curry. But I didn’t like the crispy sizzling pork because they were too dry and really salty! Halo halo was alright, not that sweet like I thought it would be. Pretty simple and delicious food here!
Plenty car parkings in front of the restaurant. Crispy pork is yummy, friendly service.
Kid-friendly area. Unique and spacious interior. Toilet is clean too. Highly reco to Asian food lovers.
really really good service and food! probably one of the best filipino restaurant in auckland. not only in terms of the customer service but also their decorations 😍 we’ll come back soon!
Halo halo is one of best around! Love the flan ice cream. A must try 😀 Friendliness of the staff is great. Not the best looking resto but worth going (and back!)
Amazing dining experience tonight! Great place for a date night or hanging out w friends. Had the coconut soft shell crab, mushroom and tofu entree, bbq pork and honey squid. The highlight was definitely the honey squid, never had it like this and it was soo tender! Also had the mochi ball dessert which was so tasty!! Overall great experience, the lovely waiter was very attentive and provided great insight to dishes and restaurant. Will be here for the winter menu :)
MASTERFUL. Hailing from Masterchef NZ 2015 as a finalist and fan favourite, Leo Fernandez blesses Auckland once again with his newly opened restaurant, Melting Pot. This has become my favourite Filipino restaurant, so if you’ve struggled to find good ones like me, this is definitely the one you have to try! Drawing inspiration from traditional dishes and adding a touch of masterful modernity, Melting Pot offers a menu where each dish has an array of flavours that seem intricate, yet they perfectly compliment each other. More importantly, the portions are generous and great value for money!
I would highly recommend trying their entrees, especially the Crab Buntaa (soft shell crab) which was so crispy and juicy, matched with a delicious buntaa sauce and coconut curd. Even the Pinsec Fritos, Siomai, and Tokwa’t Mushroom were all amazing, each demonstrating culinary ingenuity with their divine sauces that fuse flavours you’d never imagine work so well.
My favourite main was the Tiyula Itum (beef bone marrow, papad chimichurri - first photo). Now I’m a huge fan of bone marrow, but this was probably the best way I’ve seen it be prepared - submerged in a hearty pot packed with rich and savoury flavours, all with underlying tones of aromatic herbs and spices that left a refreshing after-taste instead of the usual sickening oiliness. The Filipino Style Pork BBQ was also really good and is one of those safe dishes you can always order knowing everyone will love it.
Then for dessert, the Biko Balls I had were unreal. The dish covered all dimensions of flavours and textures - definitely a must try!
This is getting long and I’ve never reviewed a restaurant with so many dishes I liked, so instead of me writing all day, let me leave the rest to you and try it for yourselves! Located near the Panmure roundabout with the friendliest staff and plenty of parking.
Enjoyed everything that we ordered! Orders took long to arrive but the wait was worth it! Crispy kare kare is a must-try :) Maybe in the future they can add up some more in their menu. We came here actually for the halo halo but unfortunately, it wasn’t available so we decided to try the only one they’ve got, the Biko balls and I must say that our sweet craving has been satisfied by this sophisticated very Filipino dessert 😍
Will definitely come back some other time!
This is hands down one of the best Filipino/Asian cuisine I’ve been to. I’d like to start off with the atmosphere of the place - the interior design is phenomenal. You literally get a grasp of the Filipino aura. My mum and I ordered the Biko balls, along with the siomai. They were amazing 😍 The staff were so lovely and nice as well - awesome service. Such a good cuisine, more people should know about this place. 😁
Excellent food.....highly recommended......reasonable price.....will definitely be back again❤️
Chef Leo is really an amazing cook and his staffs are accommodating.
Finally we were able to try this place. We ordered tofu mushroom, lumpiang sariwa, bbq pork belly and honey soy squid. Chef Leo has again presented it using his masterchef touch which we like because it looks different yet all very delicious! I also tried their halo-halo with homemade dulce de leche ice cream, ahh! That ice cream is to die for, i hope they will include it in the desert menu on its own 😋 we definitely enjoyed our lunch and we will be back to try the other menu!
Noticed the restaurant while driving. Great ambiance. Looks nice inside. Good food. Not the best in the world but very nice anyway. And the service was very nice.
It's located by the big Panmure roundabout, across the street from the AA. There are 3 or 4 parking spots just outside the restaurant which is convenient if you can get one.
The dining area is fairly big so it can accommodate larger groups. They also had a few items for sale at the counter including pandesal.
The menu is a combination of different Asian dishes including Indonesian, Filipino and Japanese. I tried the siu mai along with the Filipino BBQ pork belly and Mami noodle soup. I loved the pork belly. It was smokey and sweet and did come with rice. The siu mai was alright, the same with the mami noodle. Food is nice but it is a bit hard to get to. They are generally open just for dinner, with lunch (from 12) on the weekends.
Service was really good with the right amount of friendliness.
Casual eating place, friendly people, yummy food at reasonable prices. Really good iced tea.
Just a mention - would be good to let people know that it's self service so we know to go and get ourselves cups, plates knives and forks etc.
Have told people about you and we'll also be back :)
We were blown away by the quality and taste of each dish! We drive past this place everyday and decided to pop in for some takeaways and we were not disappointed. Definitely a gem here in Panmure. Must try!
Nice ambience...Great food...Awesome service...Affordable prices... Excited that they're now open for lunch. Can't wait to go back and try the other items on their menu.
Great Service! Great Food! and Great Atmosphere! The decor was very well thought through and very inviting! The ambience was very reminiscent to what I’d imagine the Phillipines to be and I loved it! Affordable prices along with very generous servings (especially the Nasi Goreng and the Pad Thai). And to top it off they had a early 20’s RnB playlist on that really made my night!
Would definitely come back again!!
Great ambiance, nice and friendly staff and good food. Although the staff was trying to give a good service - it would be great if they know their own menu. This should be a pre-requisite to the management as it was a little bit of a let down when the staff is asked and they don’t know what exactly the dish is about. Also, the customers should be informed about the self-service area right after they have received the order. Although there were few hiccups with the service, the food was great. We tried the Smokin’ Babe, Pot-Pot Chicken and K Popping Greens. The pork was well-marinated, the chicken was a bit dry but the skin was crispy and the vegetables were tasty with the right amount of spicy kick for mild. Also, it would be nice to have at least a couple of options for dessert. We were surprised that there is none.
Asian fusion restaurants are getting more popular in big cities like Auckland - and Melting Pot is one these places that you shouldn’t miss. It boasts a casual Filipino dinning ambiance with its counter desk structured like a sari-sari store. Everything on the menu is superbly delicious 😋 - it showcases interesting combinations of Southeast Asian flavours at a very affordable price (cheap as!). Melting Pot has just opened but I am pretty sure it already has a huge following.
A small menu, but good variety of proper Filipino food.
Small portions, but quite filling.
We went on a really cold evening, and for some reason the heater was off, which didn't make it enjoyable, so don't fo on a cold day. But you should go and try it.
Nice

Food was really good, a different take on Filipino cuisine. We ordered the Chicken Inasal and Honey Soy Squid. We will definitely come back again. Plus, Chef Leo came out to see all his customers and had a chat with all of us.
Food was IN CRE DI BLE! First time trying Filipino food.
My favourite dish was the Aloha chicken. 10/10
Googled 'Filipino restaurants in Panmure' and Melting Pot came up. Booked a table for 3. Arrived, ordered, feasted on roast pork, soft shell crab, fried trevally, pineapple chicken.
Thought to self, "Wow, this is wayyy better than the usual Filipino fare I've eaten!"
Turns out.. Melting Pot is owned by @MasterChefNZ finalist Leo Fernandez, who used to operate the now defunct Azon on Parnell Rd... and having dined at Azon, I can say Melting Pot is HEAAAAAPS better.
It's got my #omnomnom seal of approval!
What a gem of a find. So if you're keen to try Filipino cuisine and don't mind traveling to Panmure (Jellicoe Rd) - Melting Pot is worth your money and time!
Trust me - Your tastebuds will thank you for it.
I've had dinner at the Melting Pot many times. The food here is divine! You really can't go wrong with any dish on the menu.
Melting Pot was a good experience for us. Our work colleagues have Turkish, Malaysian, Singapore, South African, English etc you could say a "Melting Pot" lol😆.
We rented this place out for my son's first Birthday. We originally booked the upstairs part but due to issues with the landlord, it was no longer made available. But the manager made sure that we can still do the party downstairs.

Authentic Filipino food. Delicious, well presented and heaps of serving.
Dishes here are really delicious and well presented like what you will see in high end restaurants. Took a long time for them to be prepare but its all worth it. Plate size is reasonable, ordered the sizzling pork and the fish and an entry. Barely able to finish the meal between 2 of us.
The place is under aircon and is comfortable.
The road work may be affecting the parking around but its not stopping me from visiting them again. Recommended.
Food was excellent. Price-wise, not too bad.
Serving is generous. Ambience is good.
I ordered their Kare-Kare and Pork BBQ skewers.
We had a really good experience, the staff was friendly and kind! We enjoyed the food, but some of the dishes weren't completely good...one of the entrees (pork dumplings) was too salty and the other one (vegetables with peanut) didn't have too much flavour. The rest of the food was really good! I reccomend the pork bbq, the honey squid and the beef curry salad 🤗 tip: they have karaoke now!! 🙌🙌
We had kikiam, cheese sticks with delicious unlimited sawsawan. Main dish was Crispy pata which is delicious to the bones. 😋 Most importantly, staff were nice.
been here twice already and I still love the food! great portion sizes and definitely affordable. Really good service too. My favorite is their pork bbq and the chili oil sauce packs a punch. Will definitely come back again :)
Had a family birthday celebration in this quite nice tidy Filipino Restaurant in Panmure. All staff were very welcoming and helpful. Food yummy, not pricey and so delicious. Name it we had it even kwek2 and sarsi 😊. For kare kare lovers they are using bagnet. Empanada was a real surprise for the family. Highly recommended. Will definitely drop by again. Also child friendly has a high chair.
This is now my favourite Filipino food place in Auckland! Good work! 👏 I would give 5 Stars but some of my favourite from the menu were not available .😊
Lovely quiet private Phillipino restaurant. Flavour combinations were delicious with friendly customer service. Prices were reasonable and enjoyed our time here. Will definitely be back. 😃
Wonderful choice for our wedding anniversary. Our meal had great presentation. Amazing flavour, and was super fast. Well done guys.
