Came here for quick lunch and it was super delicious !! The fried fish was wholesome and the grilled pork was very tasty and flavorful.
I Never been to the Philippines but the Authenticity of this place made me feel like I was there. Friendly staff, super aromatic soups, incredible portion sizes. Timely service. What more could you ask for from a mystery meal at the restaurant you drive past every day. Hope to see you guys again real soon.
Come here regularly for a fix of good Filipino food. The place is nice and clean, easy parking nearby and the food is good. Price is a bit high for what it is but with Zomato Gold discount it's not too bad.
Had a wonderful meal with our friends & family Wednesday night. Meals were the best & staff very welcoming. 2nd time there & already looking forward to returning back again. Well done
Cool little place serving Filipino food. I had the Lechon Kawali and it was nice. Crunchy skin with soft meat. Friendly service and I'll be back to try their sisig.
My first visit to this place. The grill drumstick never disappoint me. Loving the smoke aroma and the crispy skin of the chicken. The chicken was tender and well seasoned. Will definitely pay more visits !
My wife and I went there on Friday night. Restaurant was spacious and bright with soft background music. 2 tables occupied. We were greeted on arrival and ushered to a table. We asked the waitress for recommendations and she obliged. The manager also came to our table and helped us decide what to order. We ordered Chicken Inasal with Java Rice, Pork Sisig (it was delicious and it's not pork head meat as in the menu rather it's pork cheeks - crunchy pork and tasted very good). We also ordered BBQ Pork Skewers which was grilled perfectly and it was juicy and delicious. Food arrived quite quickly. Overall delicious food. Crowd started coming in around 7pm. Will go back to try the Crispy Binagoongan (Crispy Pork Belly with Shrimp flavoured rice). Used Zomato Gold.
We had lunch here today. We ordered sizzling pinakbet, sinigang na baboy and lechon kawali. WOW! My 3 year old son had 3 little bowls of sinigang with rice. The food were well seasoned, freshly cooked, and the flavours were just perfect. The resto was packed and there were several folks who picked up their ordered food, but the staff were friendly and chilled. I highly recommend it! I'm actually talking to my friends now as to when we're having dinner here soon! :) Good job, guys!
This is our go to place when we're craving Filipino food. Their tapsilog is my fave. Hubby enjoys the chicken inasal. A little tip - ring them up and order ahead of time. We have been 3 times and each time, their cooking time takes at least 25 minutes regardless of the number of diners they have.
Kayle Manila situated at the corner of Queen Road & Pilkington Road is easy to find. We had the deep-fried chicken skin & deep-fried battered quail eggs, both with vinegar sauce, as appetizers. The larger dishes came with salad & rice. We tried the pork belly & fried chicken, both with appropriate sauces. Unexpectedly they were in generous servings & tasted extremely well. I am looking forward to trying its fish dish & desserts.

Felt like home. My daughter enjoyed your bbq. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The presentation of the food was 👌🏼. And very affordable, will come back for sure.
I booked a table via Zomato which was super easy. This is a cute little place, nestled in the Panmure shops. Fantastic food, full of different flavours, mainly spicy and tangy. The chicken dish was a standout and was so delicious. Great portion sizes and good value for money. It is nice to see more Filipino restaurants popping up! One thing to improve would be the service and the time to bring out the food, we came on a very quiet night and waited a while. Overall, will definitely be back to try some other yummy dishes!
Visited this place last week – on a bit of a whim and with a bit of caution because it’s really hard for restaurants to beat what you get at home but I was pleasantly surprised!
We were so hungry that I barely even got photos of the food but we tried the kwek-kwek to start with and it immediately reminded me of home. The portion size was fine, you get 6 for $5 which I think is decent enough! The batter was good and the sauce complimented it well. My boyfriend ordered the crispy dinuguan which he seemed to have enjoyed while I got the kalye crispy fried chicken with gravy (not pictured). The portion size was huge which was amazing but I will say that as much as I love crispy chicken skin, I think mine was almost burnt. That said, the highlight of my meal would actually probably be the gravy that came with the chicken. It‘s the closest taste of Jollibee gravy I’ve had since moving to NZ and so it was really reminiscent of home.
Overall, a good experience. Friendly enough staff, cutlery and glasses could probably do with a more thorough wash/wipe but other than that, everything was pleasant. Would definitely come back to try some of their dessert and their halo halo!
One of the few places (which I've tried before) in Auckland which does really delicious and juicy Grilled Chicken.
Got recommended to Kalye Manila by a Filipino friend. He said that this is the only place he goes for his hometown foodie fix.
Filipino food is not widely promoted compared to other Asian foods. Thus, this was our first time having Filipino food and we were pretty impressed.
Overall, good food and service. We will be back.
I went here several times and it's one of the best Filipino restaurant in Auckland. I've been here enough times to order without looking at the menu. This is 10-15 minutes away from Sylvia park and it's just around the corner from Tres Maria.
I like their theme. Their tables are named as 'Binondo' and other cities in Manila written in a cardboard where you can find it displayed in a jeepney in the Philippines. The restaurant has quiet limited space but it is enough not to bump each other. One wall is covered with picture frams of actors and actresses in the Philippines. It's something to look at when you're waiting for the food. They have enough items on the menu but what bothered me is that they only have a few options for beef and chicken. It was mostly pork. Nevertheless, their food is really good and affordable. I really enjoyed their crispy pata because it wasn't too oily and it was indeed crispy! It had enough meat in it and you can share it between two to three people. Another favourite is their sisig. Unlike other filipino restaurants, they don't have as many liver and that's good because you know what you're paying for. It's not too creamy and it is seasoned perfectly.
Their customer service is good. The indian guy was friendly. There's a little bit wait for the food here sometimes but once you've got your food you'll forget about it. I definitely recommend this place.
Ps, sometimes some dishes are not available so might as well ring them to confirm if they are able to make it.
We had a great time with our family at Kalye Manila eatry. They have got great menu selection and food is just amazing. Thanks Kalye Manila team for such a great meal and your service. Will be back
Amazing service and yummy as food!!! Definitely worth it 💯👌🏾it’s also very affordable.. will definitely be back for more.. 💯😁👌🏾❤️💯🤤
Excellent food. lots of great choices. decent prices. meals are well presented. the crispy chicken skin is definitely worth a try. grilled pork liempo was also really good.
I have no idea about Philipino food! I just ordered what look ok for me. Crispy pork is the way to go haha and damnnn it was GOOD!! So crispy and yummy. But I don’t quite get the idea of having them with the sour sauce on the plate. Anyway I think the whole thing was good and one of the best crispy pork I have had in Auckland.

Best Filipino Restaurant in Auckland
My expectations were not high, it looked like a small cafe from the outside, only one other table was eating at that time, maybe because it wasn't lunch time or dinner time.
Ordered Crispy Pata and Lomi chicken and egg noodle soup. I ordered alot because I wanted to try more food and thought the portions would be too small for me.
I was surprised to see that the meals were huge, and tasted superb.
Lomi had thick sweet chicken egg soup taste with chunks of chicken and vegetables. Soup went pretty well with rice too.
Crispy Pata, which was pretty much deep fried pork hock, was amazing. I expected this to be small with mainly bones but there was alot of meat. I have no idea how they cooked this but texture was amazing, skin was very very crispy, it wasnt hard like most pork cracklings it was crisp like potato chips. Fat and meat inside were so tender they just melted in my mouth. Vinegar sauce they provided was perfect with the pork.
The waitress that served me was very polite, she was surprised that i finished everything.
the food is amazing! tastes really good! service is good as well, staff are friendly. serving time is a bit slow, you need to order in advance so you can get your food in time. overall, this place is a must try! will definitely come back!
Small unassuming looking place but well worth the visit. Very friendly staff and we absolutely could not fault the food. Very reasonable on top of all that.
Good food and quick service! Food came out hot. The waiter was friendly and the ambience reminded me of home. Famous celebs were posted on the walls. The ube and leche flan cake is to die for. So yum!
We stumbled upon this Filipino by chance. Was going to a Malaysian restaurant which was packed so we went to Kyle Manila instead. This was the second time I tried Filipino food, the first was in Azon, Parnell.
There were two of us and we ordered a crispy pork dish and a grilled chicken dish. Wanted to add ‘Laing’ (taro leaves) but that was not available. Neither was the ‘Kwek-kwek’ (quail egg) so we ended up with those two mains. The portion was just right.
I don’t eat pork much as I am not used to the taste but this pork dish was amazingly good. No porky taste at all and it was not too greasy either. The grilled chicken was so nicely seasoned too. With only two mains, cost came to $32 for two.
We both love it and will be back!
Paid 30 dollars each for a boodle fight with my work colleagues. We chose "Quiapo" set, which included pork adobo, kare-kare, bulalo soup, buttered prawns, chicken and pork barbecue, laing and rice. It also came with buko pandan and 2 jugs of coke for 8 diners.
Highlights:
- everyone liked the taste of chicken and pork barbecue; the chicken had a tangy taste that reminds me of how my family marinades our bbq back home.
- garlic fried rice was good
- pork adobo was nice (tender pork; perfect blend of sweet, savory and sour)
- I would have wanted the laing to be a bit spicy, like how Bicolanos do it
- the rest was lackluster
We wanted to use the videoke, but none of us had the guts to sing in front of a semi-full dining crowd. We then hoped hat the machine be moved to a private area to prevent embarrassment among the aspiring singers like me.
Staff were attentive but can be friendlier.
Will return to try their a la carte dishes.
the place was is strategically located at the heart of panmure... space is limited but the food and service is top notch... keep me coming back for the great food selection and friendly ambiance.
Located on the corner of Queen street and Pilkington road, it isn't too hard to find with the new signage.
It looks like they are the same people from Pinoy Klasiks from up the road. Quite a large selection of items on the menu, most of which sound really tasty. We ordered three meals to share between three people. The best item was the BBQ chicken, which we managed to get with garlic rice instead of java rice. It was tasty and had that nice BBQ flavour. Now I'm wanting to try their BBQ pork belly and skewers.
We just walked in and managed to get a table but it did get quite busy as we were eating, where people were waiting for tables. Another interesting thing is the ube leche flan, a leche flan on top of an ube cake. Tasty and interesting.
Been wanting to try this place out since I'm usually near Panmure. Stopped by and got take aways for me and my boyfriend. I got the bangsilog and he ordered the sizzling sisig. I loved them both especially since I miss home. I have had other sisig in Auckland and this is by far my favorite. Will come back again and try the other food on the menu.
Located in the heart of Panmure is a budding Filipino restaurant offering traditional home cooked meals that will tantalize you taste buds
Ambiance: Has limited seating. I feel that the space wasn't maximised to its potential. I would highly suggest to avoid peak times if you're going in a large group. Otherwise the restaurant is well lit and well decorated.
Menu: True to its name Kalye Manila showcases a typical Filipino menu that would interest our kababayans in NZ. I feel some of the menu items would be a bit hard core for the locals alike. We have tried the pork barbecue and I must say it's a must try. We tried to order two items on the menu and sadly it was already sold out, interestingly enough we came there at 1300H only 2 hours when they opened for business.
Service: We came on a Saturday lunch service and the place is nearly packed. We took a table for four which sadly wasn't bussed yet and there no more tables available. It took around 10 minutes for the friendly waitstaff to clean the table and get our orders. They were really apologetic, I think they were quite short staffed. It took around 30 to 45 minutes before our orders came. Quite a long wait time for my opinion. I'm not sure locals would have that patience to wait that long.
Verdict: Kalye Manila is a great addition to rising popularity of Filipino food in Auckland. It's a typical Filipino restaurant but nothing out of the ordinary that would entice the locals to try how great the Filipino cuisine is. That and together with the long wait time has dampened the experience which makes you ask yourself "Will I come back for more?"
Ambience is impressive. I am a filipino, the theme was Manila Philippines. But lets say that i am not, youd be impressed as every thing in the restaurant is well thought of as each is cohesive to the theme. From the front layout to the furnitures and lightings.
The place is clean and well maintained.
The menu is great. They have their own versions to dishes and It has marked its own name to Tradition Filipino Cuisine.
Service, the server is friendly and the food came quick.
Cost - its budget friendly. Worth the price you paid. Each main meal ranges 5nzd to 16nzd (if i am not mistaken). Well enough serving for one.
I was going to give 5 stars but we were a little disappointed with the meal size, as weve been to different filipino restaurants and had bigger serving for the price and 4 of their signature dishes are out of stock when we came. But the Price really is very economical, 5 dollars for a platter of chicken skin, thatss Woooow. i just think me and my friends have a very big appetite and we have seen bigger servings.
But would DEFINITELY come back and would be very happy recommend this place to everyone I know.
Me and my friends were craving for filipino dish and decided to try this place. Place was easy to find with really nice decor.
Staff were very accommodating and they close late(9:30pm) which was one of the reason why we chose this place since it was already 8pm when we got hungry.
However the food were not to our liking.
My Filipino colleagues booked this place for group dinner. The food was nice however it took a while to get the food. They sell takeaway desserts too. Price is reasonable. Toilet is clean. Somehow the restaurant closes very early. Staff told us to leave by 7.30 pm as they were closing. We parked our cars across the road.
Went in late afternoon on a public holiday.
Love the food here. Lomi tastes really nice but the portion could be more given it was $20 and a a small bowl, to compare with other Filipino restro I’ve been. Eschbeche was amazing. Tapa was great too.

We had a snack in here and service was quick as we were the only ones in the restaurant. Kwek2x was good as I liked the vinegar sauce. Spaghetti was delicious as well, as close as the Filipino sweet style spaghetti.
I really love coming here. It’s a simple sitting on the corner of queens road. Fits about 40 people inside comfortable and 20 people outside. We come on a regular after church with a group of 10-15 friends. The price is ok. Ranging from $15 to $17. Meal portions are really good. All their dishes come with a lot of flavour. I’ve found this place to be quite authentic. My personal favourite dishes would have to be the Caldereta and bilcol express. Tocilog is also tasty.
3 of us had lunch and we all loved our food. I had the squid, lovely and we shared it. We caught the bus from Pakuraga both ways saves parking.
Just had brunch here. Good authentic food and good portions. Their Kwek Kwek is a must try. The staff has done great customer service skills! Very warm and welcoming. Decent price too. Would definitely visit again avdceoujd highly recommend!
Great food, the place is a bit old but bring some friends and you make the the experience.
We had the boodle fight here! And the setup was on time, the service was great, the restaurant atmosphere was spot on with the amount of lighting for us to enjoy company whilst eating. The fried chicken was incredibly good! Totally surprised us out of left field. I'd buy that together with the vinegar sauce, reminds me of what my grandma used to buy in the markets at night. The bbq was also good as well as the foods available. In comparison to other restaurants that offer boodle spread, this felt a bit on the short side. Not enough seafood we reckon, and also grilled veges. For the price, it definitely felt short of what could have been presented. But all in all a great place to visit. Hence I couldn't give a perfect 5. Highly recommend still for those just trying out Filipino Cuisine.
Travelled about half an hour after reading about Kalye Manila.
Friendly staff.
Big portions, reasonably priced and tasty food!
Had the Fried Chicken, Beef Sinigang (Sinigang na Bulalo), Chicken Barbecue (Chicke Inasal) and Crispy Pork Belly with Shrimp Paste (Crispy Binagoongan.
Honestly, the food can be shared (based on 2 adults, a teenager and an 11 yr old - as long as you eat it the Filipino way).
They don't charge for takeaway containers unlike other establishments- zero food wastage.
Will definitely be back for a taste of home.
When we arrived here we were the first customer so things weren’t ready and took so long to get 2 meals. Really enjoyed their food but staff were not friendly and they opened the door wide open on very windy day. They should think about customers.
good food! its actually over my expectation! i would give a higher rating if they could tidy the place up though..
So tasty! My partner and I enjoyed it so much that we ordered a third main for takeaway!
Another great place for Filipino food.
Their bulalo and fried chicken is too yum.
Kalye Manila recently popped up on Zomato Gold so I thought I’d give it a go. Unfortunately my first choice of Dinuguan was unavailable (and it seems it still is unavailable).
Ended up getting the Pork Sisig which ended up being really tasty.
Only negative comment about Kalye is the fact that the crispy pork tends to be quite dry. However, it’s still tasty 😋
