I always love Indian Food even though I don’t know exactly know the names of the dishes I was eating, and it’s a good thing that this restaurant explains their dishes very well and it is very well explained on the menu.
Their server is very kind and polite. He knew we don’t know what we’re after so he tried to ask questions and suggested dishes for us.
The food is good & it’s the first Indian restaurant I went to here in NZ hence I cannot compare it with the others. It is pretty much the same with what I’ve had when I do layovers in India. The lamb is pretty good and doesn’t have a twang taste. Chicken Biryani is big for one person. The chicken lollipop is something unique and it is not bad at all.
I will definitely go back and try more of their dishes. I love that they are part of ZOMATO GOLD :)

Service was extremely slow and it was a bit unusual that we had to get our own menus, cutlery and order at the counter (I've never done this at an Indian restaurant before, only Chinese ones) but the food was very well priced and delicious. The prawn Malai curry is to die for! The fish masala wasn't bad either. Would definitely come back and see if the service has improved.
We had their Mutton Biriyani and it was amazing!! The gave a lot of meat (big succulent pieces) for the amount of rice. I’m definitely going back there!
We also had their Butter Chicken which was very good - it wasn’t sickly sweet as many other places serves it. Looking forward to trying their Lamb Madras & Vindaloo next

Work ordered Dum Biriyani Combo & Chicken Lollipops from here. A good overall blend of spices and flavours. Will definitely recommend it & return again.

And the same with tandoori roti
Dhal - decent kick of flavours, nice chunks of tomato and chopped stem of coriander, very tasty
Roti - not great not bad, just good.
Also x3 tandoori chickens for friends who said it was a good portion for the money and the chutney provided was good, it was however a little on the salty side.
In store the shop is clean and you are greeted
With a smile.

Nice mughlai chicken! With great roti & naan. Way more good food than a lot of restaurants in a cheap deal. Keep it up & I will visit again for sure.

Amazing food.... Had tandoori chicken and chicken jalfrazi with butter naan it was just perfect... Highly recommend chicken jalfrazi to people who like to try something different than butter chicken or chicken tikka masala

Chicken 65 is one of the best I have ever tried.
I love your food especially the grilled lamb chop and the chicken lollipop i love your naan it is the softest in the world and the lamb Seek kabab and it was so good we liked your shop because your food was so tasty and you had a heat pump and your service was so good

We ate butter chicken and chicken lolipop. I must say it was so yummy and the staff is sooo friendly.highly recommended to all.... Food is healthy and less wait time.
We went there n we eat biryani chicken lollipop and master chefs special curry was fabulous service was awesome n very nice atmosphere recommendable restaurant in the heart of papatoetoe.
We went and had chicken lollipops and chicken Manchuria with naan. The food was fresh and delicious. Would recommend, good atmosphere and friendly and welcoming staff.

We had our best biryani so far from this place. Got a family pack & more than enough for four people. Very testy & price was worth for the food. Still small place & good for take away. Dine-in also possible. On steet parking or there is a public car park in next street.
Very nice place if you want to organise a party. Tables well set up with candles . I celebrated my husband's suprise birthday party last night and I am glad that I chose Master Chef restaurant. Food was nice and staff was very friendly and cooperative. It was a total value for money. Thank you Master Chef Team.....we all really enjoyed your food and service. Wounderful food in masterchefs now days you will not find good quality of foods arround People's go for quantity they don't know the quality .we did birthday party it was awesome every one enjoyed. I high recomend people to try lamb seekh kebab its delicious ,when ever I go master chefs I always eat their . The best quality of the chef Mr Abid bhai
Recently moved to Papatoetoe- tried many restaurants but this is our favourite place for takeout's- good friendly service by 2 ladies at the front counter always greeting with a smile. masterchef Papatoetoe is the best in Auckland -Paradise and Barwachi are just the Name serving worst food--Tandoori chicken very tender and fresh as always-butter chicken to die for-soft and fresh Naan breads. Highly recommended everyone in Papatoetoe should try their food.
Lovely place with delicious food we had the chicken korma. The service was exceptional and made us feel very welcome.

Master chief is a very beautiful shop with evtreamly good food. Best in my opinion Is the butter and tandoori chicken.
Small cafe, limited seating but very good authentic Indian food. A bit pricey but worth it.
