Previously called Hera which was closed for many months, it has now reopened under its original name, Cabana. The service was good, and the food was great.
We went looking for a place to celebrate my daughter's 13th birthday. Cabana accommodated our group of 6. We had a couple of pizzas, mains and dessert. Food was so tasty and great portions. The staff were amazing and very attentive. Highly recommend this place. Thank you for making it such a memorable experience for our family especially the birthday girl xx
Very delicious calamari —tender inside, crispy-crumby outside and well-seasoned slaw! Nice lamb kebab as well. Lovely host-owner who is an interesting conversationalist. Would come back again if we were to visit the town.
Awesome meal! I love the share platters menu. We had mussels and chips and they were excellent. Service was super friendly and we felt welcome and valued. Thank you for a good dining experience!
We had a good time last night, service was great and food was really nice. We had a pizza and the pork schnitzel as a main and the buttermilk chicken as an entree which was yum!

We had a fantastic meal at Cabana on Thursday night… lucky enough to be there for curry night. They were very busy but all the staff had such a great attitude, so good to be able to go somewhere decent in Pauanui for a great meal. Let’s support these people… they so deserve it😊Brett
Ooh! I love the new Cabana! The place looks so cute and the food was delicious! We had a pizza and the cannelloni and both were so fresh and tasty. Good vegetarian options! The new management have it sussed and make you feel so welcome. Definitely recommend!
Had a lovely evening last night, relaxing with my dear friends and having a great meal, perfect Pimms cocktails, while being waited on by pleasant and attentive staff and management. The menu is simple and designed around sharing, but boy does it pack a punch and is so clever. All the best with your new venture in such difficult times and look forward to returning before the summer ends ☺️
Absolutely great place. Firstly the friendly staff make you feel relaxed and the food was terrific. We shared a meatlovers pizza and really enjoyed it. Will be going back here when we return to Pauanui. Also they went above and beyond by posting back a jacket we left behind. Thanks so much

This absolutely stunning restaurant has left the best impression! Friendly hosts with great banter, delicious dishes, beautiful presentation and wonderful cocktails. Will be coming back again and again. Highly recommend!!!

The food here is pretty good, but the waitress/manager that served us unnecessarily (in my opinion) embarrassed us and our friend over needing a mask. He had come to join us and had innocently forgotten his mask in his rush to arrive as he was late. It was absolutely reasonable to ask him to leave and return with one but the way he was spoken to left us all feeling rather awkward and very uncomfortable. We also told her at the conclusion of our meal while paying that our friend had won the event on that morning as she was asking about it but we got no response and a snappy reply, again about masks (we were all wearing one). We all agree that mask wearing is necessary to keep everyone safe but the way we were spoken to completely ruined our celebration and left a bad taste in our mouths. Times are tough- a little bit of kindness would have gone a long way. I don't think we'd go back. 4 stars for the food, and in an attempt to be kind in the hopes that manager sees this and takes it constructively and improves her manner.
Delicious food at reasonable prices. My steak was cooked perfectly to my liking. Cool to see Rewana bread on the menu, a taste of home. Friendly staff and no complaints, a rarity when you frequent eateries. Great job.
