Fantastic service, great food and comfy atmosphere. Is an older building but full of charm. Prices are great and overall considering the remoteness of the location has a decent range of available menu options. Even has some GF options on the burgers! Only reason not 5 stars is some of our order was not made as we requested but a tiny inconvenience. I found the coffee was great and would totally recommend this establishment a million times over if you're in the area! 100% better to the takeaways close by and way better priced for what you get. This is THE place in the area, make sure you check it out... especially the loaded wedges which is a generous serving! Easily beating most pub eateries I've been to worldwide!

This is the meeting place of porangahau. There is this amazing warmth about this pub it feels like you walk in thinking your an outsider and by the time you leave you are a local. The pub put on a number of events to keep the locals entertained from all in pool to sing along nights with live music. Oh and the food is bloody good too. So head on over to the Duke and meet some of the locals and a have a few cold drinks and food I think you may just find a nice bit of good old new zealand.
We just had the most amazing fish and chips from here. Mussels and fish were beautiful. Great people and we will be back. Thank you for the best feed we have had for a long time 👍
My husband and I were out for a drive we decided to go out to porangahau Beach while coming into town we decided to stop for a cuppa and in doing so we had something to eat. I had the wedges with the works and boy I was unable to eat it all they were absolutely yummy my cappuccino was also very yummy 😋 . My husband had a piece of fish and some garlic buttered chips he even couldn't eat it all but he thoroughly enjoyed them all. The girls in the Cafe were very friendly and they were very helpful in giving us some advice on what the place and beach were like. We will definitely be back again next time it will be for longer. Thanks guys had a great Day😀

Great cafe side of the buisiness. As a non alchohol drinker plenty of choice. Little dog was welcome if kept on leash.. Nice fresh hot chips. Lots of other goodies to eat as well.
Had a brilliant Fish and Chip lunch yesterday, ordered a piece of fish and chips and got 2 pieces of very fresh lightly crumbed fish, 2 eggs, chips and salad that came really quickly.
My teenage son raved about his begin and caramelised onion ciabatta roll (it's hard to get him to get enthusiastic about anything).

A great place to grab a meal and drink. The meals created at the pub are amazing! They have the best pepper steak and burgers that will full you right up.
