Checked out this place at lunch time hidden away from all the road works. However, this place did not disappoint our dining experience. Tried their Malai Kofta and it was good and flavourful. Will definitely visit this place again to try the other dishes from the menu.
Always guaranteed great service and food. They have an awesome range of food and accomodate for large groups. Recommend this restaurant to all.
Had a very delicious butter chicken here tonight. I got medium spice and it was just right. The restaurant was very warm and inviting and overall a great place to dine. Would really recommend to dine here or get take away! Also good pricing :)
Excellent Indian food.. I took bhuna chicken, dal tasks and kadhai paneer ... All the dishes were very good. Had some good Indian food after e very long time in Wellington. . This indeed is one of the better Indian restaurants.. highly recommend this if you want to have some genuine Indian curry taste... The food was hot and fresh.
This is one of my favorite restaurants by far! I love their customer service to exceptional food. Everything they serve is to a high standard for me and ticks all the boxes. I always order the same either butter chicken or mango chicken and it's always delicious and cooked how I like it. The chicken is cooked to perfection nice and and tender and the sauce is just immaculate 👌. The rice is always lovely and fluffy and the garlic Naan just goes so well with it. Definitely recommend.😊
Best curry in porirua! Butter chicken and chicken chattinad (sp?) which is an amazing authentic tasting curry with potato and spices in it are my fav with a mango lassi! Takeaway or dine in lovely can't wait to go back!
In my opinion the best curry in Porirua. The curry is always good. The butter chicken and Garlic Chilly Chicken are my favorites. We always try new curry as it is always good with lots of spice. When we dine in we always order extra rice as the rice portions are quite small.
I am a regular customer in the Curry Village. For the past months I was been happy with going back to the restaurant to enjoy my butter chicken. The food is awesome there, the restaurant is great but my little complaint is the grumpy faces of the staff. I really love an Indian lady who used to come and talk to me every time whenever i go to the restaurant, she flies like a butterfly, smiles to every one and try to reach every one who needs a hand. I asked the guy staff about her on Thursday when I dine in and he said she is not working anymore. Not sure what had happened to her but come back to Curry village we miss you.Other than that Curry Village is the best if you are looking for the yummiest curry in Town.
My all time favorite restaurant! I could eat here every day! The food is always amazing, and the service is good! Worth every cent! The only thing is i went in with my partner, and we got seated at a wall side table. We were seated so close to another table, that we may as well have been apart of that table. But, other than that everything else there is amazing!
By far the best curry in the Wellington region. I eat there regularly and always feel completely satisfied.
The portions are really big, one meal could easily feed two people.
The flavour is amazing. I'm going to keep eating here until I find a place that can match taste.
I eat there on a regular basis, and in particular the Corma Chicken (hot), which is absolutely delicious. My only 2 complaints are 1: the chicken is way overcooked - (minor complaint). 2: I have made them aware of this many times, but they have done nothing to remedy this - (major complaint).
It is a shame as the Corma chicken sauce is so good, I'd love to taste the chicken as well.
The $12 lunch deal is hard to pass by. For that you get a small main with rice, nan bread and a soft-drink.
I have no doubt restaurants like this one would take off in a big way if their staff only realized how many customers say nothing never to return, whereas the few that let the Curry Village know how to improve - are ignored!
I doubt if they have ever bothered to read a review with the intent to learn from them.
Curry Village is a wonderful restaurant in Porirua. Myself, family and friends go there on a regular basis.
Fantastic options for vegans and vegetarians. Small - but cosy, clean and friendly staff.

I have been going to the Curry Village since it opened, over 10 years ago. It is without doubt the best curry in the Wellington Region. You get a very tasty meat filled curry at reasonable prices and the variety of breads is great, hot and very tasty.
Over the years I have introduced many friends and family to the Curry Village and they too have become regulars.
If you have not been there yet, I challenge you to try it once. I am confident that if you do, you too will become a regular like me.

My husband and I are very keen on curry and have tried most of the curry restaurants in the Wellington area. Although most of them are acceptable, the lack of meat in the curry seems to be the constant complaint we would have. Paying $15-$20 for a bowl of gravy is such a disappointment.
This is not so with the Curry Village. If you want a decent tasty meat filled curry, then you should try this place. Instead of getting a bowl of gravy, as with many other places, at the Curry Village you are treated to one of the best curries, if not the best in Wellington.
I would say, once you have tried the Curry Village, you will not be satisfied anyway else. Reasonable prices, friendly staff and the best curry in Wellington - well done!

Are there any other words you may think of apart from awesome, fabulous, mind-blowing, marvelous, incredible for this very restaurant. Been to 'n' number of curry houses in the UK, Australia and NZ. For me, as a customer it beats it's competitors by a fair margin. I am now spending 35% of my weekly income on an average at this place. March on guys!!
Just had Curry Village for dinner.
We ordered lamb madras, butter naan and onion bahji (excuse spelling) takeaway and had it when we got home.
It was cooked well and tasted great!!
I've been to curry village with friends many times before and I will recommend it to anyone.fast friendly service, clean enviroment very nice food, pitty I can still see the outside of the restaurant while eating. they should put something up so we cant see the people outside. put me off while eating :)
My cousin and I decided to go to Curry Village after watching a movie. I was absolutely pleased with the service, and the atmosphere of the restaurant and the food was the BOMB I'd recommend people dine there whenever they get the chance. I plan on taking my Mum there for her belated Mother Day's gift.
I think the restaurant is great so it the one in Otaki yea they cant always deliver but most nights they do so emma you need to build a bridge buddy there are to many whingers like you around. The lamb Jaipori is beautiful and the pesh nan is yum!!

We love this place as our local curry resturant. Been probably 5 times and the service as always been A1 with a smile.
Prompt service and great food and good portion sizes. As the other review said the garlic naan is great. Jasmine rice has always been fluffy and great and they have always given more on request. Always had a good time there.
After watching a movie we decided to treat ourselves to a nice curry. This restaurant was the closest. I had the Beef Masala and friend had the Chicken korma we ordered entrees as well (Mixed platter for 2) which were all very delicious and generous servings. I recommend you order the garlic & butter Naan the best I've tasted anywhere. Service was great and the atmosphere very ethnic, warm and friendly. Definitely visit again. :)
