Went here on a cold rainy night and the atmosphere was amazing. We sat outside (it’s covered) and they had heaters going and blankets. Was so nice and cosy! The food and service was amazing! Warmed us up and we didn’t really want to leave!
I have been here so many times over the years and the food always seems to be really good. Whenever we are going to celebrate something over dinner Poco Loco is always our go to place.
I came here on Valentines day with my partner and 8 year old son. It's definitely a vibrant and fun place to dine. We had a great experience! The food is so tasty and there are so many interesting flavors. Definitely recommend 😊
I have been here countless times over the years and the food is always great. I love it now that they have extended the restaurant so more people can fit in yay! I love a good tapas and its great to be able to try lots of wonderful food. This time we had the bombas de patatas, I thought they were nice, but nothing especially amazing. The caprese empanadas, these were also good, the pastry was excellent very crispy, the filling was ok, couldn't really taste the basil. The balsamic glazed brussel sprouts, these were fantastic! I loved the crunch of the sprouts and they had a nice char to them the saltiness of the bacon was perfect with it and so was the balsamic. We always have the fried, beetroot, feta and chorizo dish and as always the textures and flavours marry so perfectly together, I hope they never take it off the menu. We had the chicken liver with bacon in a sherry sauce, it was beautiful! The livers were cooked perfectly and the sauce was rich and had heaps of flavour, i just wish the bread wasn't put in the sauce so it was still crispy and not soggy. We had the spanish meatballs with chimichurri sauce, I thought they were boring and didn't have much flavour. Lastly we had the cumin battered eggplant which was cooked perfectly and had a lovely flavour to it. I love the menus at Poco Loco and look forward to coming back often over the years :)
First time going and i really enjoyed it. The food was really good and we didnt sit around waiting for it long at all. Will definitely go back !
This restaurant honestly has the best cocktails have ever had. The pincolada is amazing and the mojhito is orgasmic.
I definitely recommend the gnocchi (drooling) and the meatballs. The sliders are good. The polenta bites are deliciously homemade. Please do your self a favour and come here. The staff are friendly and the food is amazing
This is our second visit to Poco Loco and we still left impressed with their standard of food. We ordered 5 tapas, garlic bread, and dessert platter.
Our tapas highlight was the mussels and prawn chorizo. Mussels with tomato based broth was nyum and the mussel itself cooked to perfection. No different with prawn chorizo, all cooked to perfection, the marinate was great too! Our least favourite probably the beef cheek, texture was great but the whole dish was too salty for us (according to Yon we need rice for this! Hehe). I quite like the gnocchi (taste was greattt!) over the pork but Yon prefer the pork.
We both agree that the garlic bread was a great addition, crunchy in the outside with soft centre. Nyumnyum!
Dessert platter get us to try all the dessert. Creme brulle was nicee, my favourite out of those three. Definitely get the sugar crackling, fruit addition was perfect.
Unfortunately our churros a bit doughy. I guess due to the mini version of the actual churros menu so texture might get affected when frying. The chocolate syrup was nice though.
Service and atmosphere were both excellent, staffs have been really good and always switch on.
Price might be a tad in expensive side, but imagine if we need to cook all of this beautiful food ourself. Better book Poco Loco :))) thank you!
Went here with friends for the first time last Saturday. Nice little place both from the outside and inside. Staff are friendly. We had made a reservation earlier on in the day (which I would recommend as they do get pretty busy) and were seated right away when we arrived. We were provided with complimentary bread and dip (hummus) which was nice. The boys ordered a couple of beers on tap -Estrella Damm which went down a treat.
So, it's a Tapas restaurant therefore we ordered a few plates to start with to get a feel for portion sizes - which were pretty good. Got the Grilled Prawn and chorizo skewers - Yum; the Seared Lamb skewers - Tasty & Tender; Caramelised pork ribs (which I didn't eat but those who did were licking their fingers1!); Fish Tacos - Pretty good, specially enjoyed the Tortilla the fish was wrapped in; Pollo - this was slightly disappointing due to being too 'tomatoey and lacking a bit of flavour, Mashed potato balls - delicious! Then we got the dessert platter which included the Churros with chocolate sauce, Key lime cheesecake and creme brûlée - I enjoyed the Churros best because I'm biased towards a fresh, hot, crispy, sugar coated churros ;)
My only peeve was, we were seated outside (still covered though) but it a was a chilly night and even though they had heaters over each table for some reason they decided not to turn them on. However they do provide a complimentary blanket on each chair, nice touch, but would have been nicer to have had the heater on.
Definitely a place we'd like to visit again.
Fantastic breakfast / brunch.. Alex was very friendly and fast..
This place serves the BEST French toast in NZ.. by far.
Please keep up the great menu and food.. you guys ROCK!!
Great place, exceptional food and service! We always have a great time when we come here, I liked the sticky ribs and the calamari the best 😊👍🏽
5 or 6 dishes between 2 hungry tums is more than enough. The food is flavourful. I would strongly recommend the arancini balls and the gnocci!
Have experienced the Tapa's dishes here on several occasions with others. The menu's are changed each season & there's always something new on their desserts board to go with the Churros & Creme Brulee. The food has always been tasty & flavorsome each visit.. The Salt & Pepper's set on the table's I would say are more of a decorative touch, as you definitely don't need to season any of the dishes as they are done so to perfection. The staff are very welcoming and helpful when recommending dishes as well as recommending a wine or beer to go with. They're very attentive & definitely like to take care of their patrons to ensure they have a great dining experience. The added little touches such as the Spanish music in the background makes the atmosphere that much better. The pricing is reasonable & if I had to recommend a dessert to top it all off I'd have to say; go for the Creme Brulee!
They catered a family members birthday party and my family loved it so much we had to visit the restaurant. Although it was a Sunday night it was busy. We got eight choices doubling up on the chicken and the ribs. My favorites were the Lime chicken and the meatballs. My family got some of the desserts which they enjoyed.
My family and I dined here two times in quick succession! Lovely, kid-friendly, professional, knowledgeable and prompt service. A warm, clean, modern and inviting environment. Food=YUM! We had 8 dishes between 2 adults and 2 primary aged kids plus Divine Desserts! The price wasn't cheap but I don't mind paying good money for good food and a great overall experience. We'll definitely be back!
We're huge fans of tapas style eating in the M household and Poco Loco has been a perennial favourite. With their seasonal menu recently changing, it was an ideal time to head back for a visit with the girls. Making a booking was a cinch; I left a voicemail and it was very promptly returned.
The unassuming exterior on one of Pukekohe's main streets belies the cosy interior within. Our group was seated a nice large table and the staff took a change in numbers in their stride. After eating our way through the complimentary bread, we made our orders, selecting a couple of dishes each to share.
The braised beef melted in your mouth and the sauce of the chicken livers divine. We were all big fans of the beetroot and potato chips with chorizo and feta. There was not a single dish any of us could fault and the evidence was in how little we left behind. Those of us with room left sought out dessert and we were not disappointed - churros, creme brûlée and deconstructed cheesecake were all consumed with glee.
The kitchen runs with military precision and I'd therefore recommend it for small and large groups alike. Hot tip? Definitely book in advance. Despite being at the very south of the super-city, the reputation of Poco Loco is such that there doesn't ever appear to be a quiet night.
Have been to Poco Loco quite a few times since moving south and love it. The people are great and the food lovely. Recently I've learned that I have a gluten intolerance; it was excellent to discover I can still eat a lovely meal here including the delicious Creme Brulee desert.
Have been here twice since moving to Pukekohe. One word - WOW! I absoloutely love it, the menu has loads of flavours to chose from, the staff are lovely, the food itself is delicious and I really mean it when I say its good. If I could afford to come visit here more often I surely would.
Myself and 7 other friends dined here for the first time last night and can honestly say this was THE BEST Tappas i have ever had - Just outstanding!!
Complimentary bread and hummus on arrival (yum) then served an array of dishes that i can only describe as a party for your taste buds! The lemon pepper calamaris just melted in your mouth and the scallops with cous cous were divine.
I cannot rave enough about this place so if you like Tappas you MUST give it a go - you wont be disappointed.
Poco Loco has to be one of my favourite places to dine. The food is just amazing every time, the staff are lovely and the service is timely.
I've dined here many times and not once have I ever been disappointed. Great atmosphere, and I plan to keep eating here as long as they continue!
Love love love.
P.S - Desserts are particularly yummy too! =)
We went to Poco Loco for a birthday party last night. There was a group of four of us - it was AWESOME! What amazingly friendly, efficient service! We have recently moved from Auckland and have traveled extensively and this is the best tapas and service we have had for a long time. The complimentary hummus and bread was a nice touch - dish of the night was the Feta, Kumara chips and cherizo in balsamic reduction - YUM! All the food was lovely and catered for vegetarians in the group as well as the meat eaters. The proprietors were friendly and took the time to stop and chat. THANKS POCO LOCO we will be back!!!
Went with my wife last night and was very pleased with my choice as the food, presentation, and pleasant service are of a very high standard and very well priced .
We will visit again bring Friends and let them too enjoy themselves as we did.
Our favorite restaurant in pukekohe. Menu regularly updated and always delicious food.
Service great always, and this is a great place to go with a group.
We go here at least once a month and we have never been disappointed.
This was the best eating experience of my life, as soon as we walked in we got a friendly welcome from the staff and served pumpkin soup on the house so flavorsome as soon as we had finished the plates were cleared and our mains were served Pan fried Scallops, Moroccan meatballs, Polenta croquets with smoked fish, Prawns sautéed in garlic, Catalan tomato bread, Arancini rice balls, Lemon pepper calamares and Empanadillas all absolutely delicious I have never had such a wonderful experience I left feeling like I had known the staff in there for years even though I was only in there for 1 hour witch was plenty of time since the mains came within the first 10 minutes and to end I had the creme brûlée it was the best I have ever had.
I found the tapas fresh and delicious. It was served quickly, hot and deliciously moorish. Nice outdoor seating by a quiet street, where you can watch the world go by. The food and friendly staff make returning to this restaurant a must! Well worth the drive from the Waikato.
Great food and great service! What more can you ask for! We will be back! Recommended by friends and they were right, Tapas in the heart of Pukekohe and great value compared with other restaurants in area
I love Poco Loco as I'm a huge Tapa's fan. They often have specials on the menu to keep it interesting if you go a few times each season. It's great for just 2 but handles big groups well. The only downfall we have ever notice is they don't accept Credit Cards but if you know this ahead of time there's no issue.

Great little Tapas Restaurant and such an accomodating team. The service is very good although does vary depending on who you get, typically very friendly. Would certainly recommend. One of Pukekohe's best!
The ambience and food is great here. Staff are friendly and service efficient. The food is delicous from the lovely breads with dip that are served when you arrive to the lovely array of tapas dishes. My favourite is the Figs in honey...We take all our visitors here and it's a firm favourite.
Went again last night, our third visit, first in Jan, it was great, then took a group of 11 late Jan (they don't cope with groups well on Fri nite, would be the fairest comment to make)and just us two again last night.
was on it's best game equal to our first visit, and very pleasant evening. Great hosts and waiting staff, a very friendly but unobtrusive dining experience..
A place we have been meaning to go to for ages, loved it, nice portions. Great atmosphere, friendly staff. Cannot wait for our next visit. Thanks
We went here one random evening after flicking through the entertainment book to try and find somewhere different to go...
What a treat - amazing amazing amazing food.
Best service ever.
We will be back!
hands down the best restaurant in Pukekohe! The service is world class, they are some of the most friendly hosts I have ever met and there is pretty much no words to describe how good the food is. (and be sure to order the chicken wings)
I took my parents to Poco Loco, they are in their late seventies, early eighties and can be a bit fussy so I was a bit nervous about them finding something they liked. I shouldn't have worried. They were both almost too full for dessert. I did warn them to leave a bit of room for one of the amazing desserts. They both had a great time and really enjoyed their night out.
My Brother-in-law also visited Poco Loco when he was up from Christchurch. Booking a table at Poco Loco is now first on his list of things to do when he visits.
Go Team Poco Loco!!!!
Poco Loco is my favourite place to eat. There is heaps of choice for vegetarians and I can have a different selection off the menu every time I go. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming and the bill is always a pleasant surprise. If you love garlic mushrooms, go to Poco loco, they are stunning.
We have been to Poco Loco on many occasions, from quiet dinners for the three of us through to large private parties... every time we go it seems to just keep getting better, from the excellent tapas and desserts through to the unique and fun atmosphere provided by all the team. If you are looking to experience a variety of culinary delights Spanish style with fun loving service Poco Loco is definately the place to go.
Absolutely amazing in every respect - food, hospitality and price. This was possibly the best restaurant food I've ever eaten. Being in a group we were able to order a huge range from the menu that suited everyone's tastes. Every single dish was delicious with intensely fresh and vibrant flavours... including dessert! The service was the best I've ever come across - we were made to feel genuinely welcome from as soon as we stepped in the door right through to the final goodbye. The only disappointing part was the bathroom - not enough to put me off though and I'll definitely be returning to dine ASAP.
The best service I've ever had whilst dining!! Lovely food and to-die-for beetroot dip that accompanies complimentory breads and dips!
Always made to feel so welcome on every visit....great service, fantastic food, wonderful wine. Highly recommend :)
Owners are a pleasure to know
excellent service!!
walked in and instantly felt a cosy feeling :D
as soon as we were seated we were given bread and dips
Highly recomended
will defenatly be coming back soon ;)
Amazing!! this place is absolute gold. Its the most authentic tapas experience outside of Spain. The food was spot on, fresh, simple, creative, and fast. Ive dined here many times and it never fails to please. This has to be the best Spanish restaurant in Auckland. To top it off the service was cheeky and makes for the whole experience!! I suppose the name says it all. Keep up the outstanding work Poco Loco.
WOW, we would gladly travel around the world to dine here! Most fantastic eatery in Pukekohe. Beautiful food, freshly prepared, extremely tasty and beautifully presented. A warm welcome awaits you from the very friendly, 'little crazy' team. Never a dull moment and definitely not a place to be missed. You will be hooked from your first visit, prepare to become a regular! My Tip...Remember to BOOK a TABLE!
We just LOVE Poco Loco. It makes us feel happy and a little 'crazy', especially with the lovely wine. The food is excellent, staff is incredibly friendly, fast service and the place is cozy. We have been several times and NEVER been disappointed, always extremely happy. Good food and reasonably priced. What else do we want? It's a fantastic place and highly recommended!
Mineke and Arjen
Great place to have a meal. Staff are fun and kind, constantly wanting to know if everything meets expectations. Inside it is ambient and has a great atmosphere. Food was super tasty and the variety is really good for a group as you can all try a bit of everything. Drinks I thought were great for the price - I mean a coke costs $7 now - so for around $10 you get something a bit different than the usual. Deserts were great too. All round it was a bit of a gold mine to find. Thanks!
Gorgeous Spanish style restaurant. Lots of indoor and enclosed outdoor seating.
Friendly welcome and service throughout.
Amazing menu with a great assortment of tapas sharing plates. Delicious!!! Various meat and vegan selections. Well priced.
Tried the recommended Spanish wine and it suited the meal perfectly!
Highly recommend an evening here with family and friends.
You have to try it! Great service and awesome food and drinks, please try the empanadas and the prawns, they are next level! I was lucky enough to have a special available that day, was provoleta (I think that’s how it’s call) really nice cheese with a very very good bread definitely try it.
I will came back for sure.
The menu had me excited from the beginning and when the food was presented on the table, it definitely did not disappoint! 🤩 we had a bit of everything plus dessert and the stand out for me was the fried vegetable crisps and the ribs. Both had an amazing flavour and will keep bringing me back. The food portion recommendations were spot on as well. Two servings will keep you happy and a third will send you into a cheerful food coma. Add dessert onto that and you’re in for a good time. Will definitely visit again soon.
We had a great time at Poco Loco. Great food and staff were very helpful. The croquettes are a must try! Must visit if you’re after authentic Spanish tapas.
We had a delicious dinner at Poco Loco, got a selection of plates to share tapas style, and everything was really tasty! Not huge portions but still filling. Sangria and desserts were also incredible. Staff were super lovely, attentive, friendly and great service!
Good atmosphere and great friendly helpful staff. Tapas style share dishes - a bit on the pricey side average per dish is 16.90-19.90. Good flavours. Might want to go a bit easy on the Lime flavours as it overpowered the Prawns and the cheesecake dessert. Perfect Creme Brulee! Great place for groups
Quite tasty! Highly recommend the sauteed chicken livers dish. Complimentary bread and hummus served at the start of the meal was a lovely touch.
A bit pricey at $15.50 for small tapas, but this is one of the tastier restaurants available in Pukekohe.
Absolutely stunning! The food is so flavourful and delicious! We shared 6 tapas for 2 of us and that was more than enough, the stand out for me was the caramelised onion croquettes and the vegetable fries with balsamic, the service here is also 10/10. I had a pimms cocktail with dinner which was also really good! The ribs are also pretty delicious, so good!
Fantastic service and delicious food. Thank you all for an enjoyable experience.
On holiday in Auckland found us at Poco Loco. We realized we'd been here before about 5 years ago, and enjoyed it then.
The staff, although young, were able to recommend the sangria, which were delicious. The also recommended getting at least 5 dishes. We did, but it was one dish too much as we had an affregato for dessert. The atmosphere , service and hospitality were excellent. Highly recommend if you're near Pukekohe.
The food I really enjoyed, the chardonnay was one of my favorites. It was quick service and a not many people there for a Thursday evening.
Delicious, seasonal tapas, amazing sangria and a fantastic cheesecake to top it all off! Highly recommend.
Great restaurant. The food is always delicious. Service can be a little unfriendly sometimes. Nice restaurant to sit in and good drinks menu. Would go again.
The service and food was good honestly amazing. I have never received such attentive customer service. We celebrated my mums birthday there, they brought the dessert out with a candle - which was completely unexpected but extremely thoughtful. They really appreciate their customers. A solid 10/10 experience - will be revisiting very soon!
Great Tapas! 3 Tapas, and 2 drinks was a great sized meal for 2 people without being overly stuffed. Less than $60 for the bill
Fantastic food, was filling even though dishes were smaller. Would definitely come here again!!
