We love Lone Star Queenstown, great atmosphere and absolutely the best food in town. A huge shout out to Eva, what a great host ... very personable and she adds so much to the way things are done at what is honestly our favourite restaurant anywhere. Congrats Eva, we'll see you again Friday night at Table 14, we can't stay away!!

Nice experience….after 11 years!
Our last visit to Lone Star, Queenstown was in 2011. The most recent visit was in December 2022 - during Christmas/ New Year holidays.
We were a group of 8, including 5 vegetarians. All the dishes we had were well prepared, and the wait time was reasonable. The service was friendly and efficient.
If my memory serves me right, the number of vegetarian options in 2022 is more than in 2011, which is great.
It was quite a nice experience dining at Lone Star, after the long drive from Christchurch. My only small complaint would be that there was no guacamole/ avocado in the nachos dish. The dish was tasty nevertheless, hence we didn’t mention it to the staff there.
I will be happy to dine here again.
Our server Basil was amazing, he was friendly and entertaining, thank you Basil. The food was worth the price you paid and absolutely delicious. Went there for my nieces 18th birthday, Basil sang her happy birthday and she was given a free desert.
Most enjoyable dinner we have had during our weeks stay in Queenstown.
Quesadillas to start were awesome. The ribs were great and I loved the coleslaw no the usual stuff. Then not having any more room we shared a white chocolate pudding that was super yummy and a great size to share. My daughter loved the frozen margarita and espresso martini.
The safe to drink still water was way better than other restaurants keg water
We dined here a couple of nights ago. The menu had great variety. The serving sizes are huge (which is great)!! Our waiter had a face mask on and it made it very hard for everyone to hear. The venue was very crowded and it was hard to have a conversation in the dining space.
Dinner with our children ages 5 & 8yrs. The staff are accommodating, helpful and friendly. The food was a good proportion and flavour was good without being great, but definitely excellent service and price for what I expect. The kids menu has a good variety and my kids ate most of their meal, servings for kids is a good amount. This place has plenty of seating and it's a nice relaxed atmosphere which is good for larger groups as well as intimate couples.
Dylan was excellent. He catered to our every need and had a response to our banter far beyond his tender age.
Great spot great food and atmosphere and lily provided excellent service vey happy
I recently dined in Lonestar Queenstown whilst on holidays with my sister from Canada, and had an absolutely fantastic experience. The staff - special mention to Dave and Basil- these guys went above and beyond to make our evening memorable. Their attentiveness and friendly service was truly outstanding.
The food was exquisite and the service impeccable. From start to finish our dining experience was exceptional. I highly recommend Lonestar Queenstown to anyone looking for great food and wonderful staff and service.
Once again thank you Dave and the entire team for making our evening special. Lovely memories we will cherish of our sister trip to New Zealand 😊👏

Food was excellent and so was the service. Sam, my guy, thanks for everything! Took you up on that suggestion for pies in Arrowtown. Thanks for being the best waiter us girls could ask for. Beer was cold, food was amazing and staff was wonderful. Perfect trifecta.
The waitress Eva was lovely and so professional while still being incredibly friendly and accommodating. The food was exceptional as expected and the mussel mania was to die for. Thank you Eva and Lonestar for a wonderful dinning experience.
First time at Lonestar and the service was exceptional thanks to the lovely Eva! Coming from Brisbane it’s not very often I get to indulge in venison which was cooked to perfection! My compliments to the Chef.
We had extremely low expectations for this, our group's final dinner together in Queenstown (and NZ), but due to one person (Marketa or Marketta) everything was awesome!
My wife and I arrived early, grabbed an outdoor table to enjoy a pre-dinner drink while we awaited the other 12 people in our National Geographic group. Marketa told us that she was expecting us, handled the gradual arrival of various members of our group with professionalism and amazing humor, and assured us that our indoor table of choice would soon be ready. By the time all of us had assembled, everyone was smiling, enjoying a beverage, and could have easily stayed outside for the duration of the evening...but Marketa had "her Plan". She marshaled her staff to handle the movement inside including additonal drinks, took care of all the (pre-ordered) entrees, and in general orchestrated an amazing evening! The food was tasty and fine, but my main memory of that evening is of the wonderful sense of happiness that we all had, mainly due to Marketa's unique and endearing manner of handling us. Thank you so very much!
Thanks so much for a fabulous dinner! We received great service from all the staff, especially our table attendant, Salomé. She was very attentive and provided service with a smile. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was cosy and relaxed. Our 9yr old daughter's comment: I thought it was the best meal I've ever tasted (that is my opinion). Thanks Lone Star Queenstown!
Nice environment and lovely service from Caitlin! Huge amount of food and delicious!!!
Great service from the crew.
Perfect ambience.
The sauces/dressings in each dish were amazing. Definitely recommend the Redneck Ribs.
Will return here the next time I'm back in Queenstown. Cheers
