Honestly amazing burger and ribs!! We’ve actually struggled to find good burgers in New Zealand so far and this was the best we’ve had (I think it’s better than ferg burger). We were skeptical as it’s got such a central location whether food would be a bit naff but honestly was delicious, highly recommend eating here as well as getting the pints in. Staff are lovely too! The Ballarat Trading Co. is a nicely decorated pub. The design is pleasant, and the way the various areas are separated from each other reduces the background noise level so it's easy to converse with the other people in your party.
The service was efficient. We were served promptly even though we had thirty people in our group.
I had the grilled chicken breast. It was tough, dry and disappointing. However, the vegetables and potatoes that came with it were delicious. My wife had pumpkin and spinach cannelloni. She let me taste it. It was excellent. I was told by the people who had the fish and chips, the steak and the ribs that they were very good.
My desert was called Chocolate Oblivion. It was light and airy, and very tasty. My wife had the Mixed Otago Berry Sorbet. She loved it.

We were warmly welcomed to The Ballarat and seated immediately. Our server Paul gave great recommendations and was very friendly. The food portions were generous and delicious. Cocktails were also very tasty.
Absolutely fantastic burgers. Fresh and extremely tasty. Very big servings. We had the chicken burger with maple bacon, and the BB Kang. Tender succulent chicken and very tasty beef patties. Very well priced considering the price of food in queenstown.
The spicy tomato lentil soup was delicious and the desert was very good. The fish and chips didn't stand out much as it was about the same you can get anywhere else. The steak was pretty good also.
Such a great little spot, warm welcoming vibe. Great selection of spirits, wine and beer!
The food was amazing, I had their BB Kang burger which was delicious. Think I’ll be back for another this weekend. Had a side of chunky chips with gravy & cheese between 3 people good portion!

The service from Beth was 10/10, super sweet & kind, definitely the type personality you want working with customers. Food was unreal as always, alot people think this place is only for drinks but I'm telling ya don't sleep on the food!
We had a great dinner here last week, the customer service was great. Burgers were huge and came out quick and hot. Beers come in a true pint glass. They also have colouirng for the kids to keep them occupied. Overall a great night out
Stopped by for breakfast. It was one of the few places that could accommodate our group since it was quite large.
There were a few options to choose from. Went with the big breakfast and it was alright. Would've like the bacon to be crispier but I didn't ask. We had about an hour and a half to eat and get to the airport and we had plenty of time.
The place also had quite an interesting decor, including a bear.
Drinks were great with wide selection. Food was excellent bone rib eye on the specials was perfect and the house made bangers had perfect texture and flavor. Service was attentive and friendly. Management must be on point here!
Me and my girlfriend spent our anniversary here and it was incredible.
We went for burgers and wine which was so tasty and we were served by Max who is very friendly and has a pretty nice humor. We will definitely come back.

Delicious food and reasonable prices. Waiting staff are lovely. Highly recommend the crumbed cauliflower, Squid and scallops. Absolutely Fantastic.
Came back September 2020 to find it is now a burger restaurant. Really missed the old menu but decided to give it a try. Was really disappointed in the food and the place was so dark I had to read the menu by the light of my phone torch. Staff still lovely but def need some proper lighting
Me and some of my friends we're just a few days of our trip in Queenstown.
We went to the ballarat to eat some burgers which we're very tasty but the best was the waiter. We were served by Max he was really funny and so we enjoyed our time in the Ballarat. I hope the rest of the trip is going to be as good as our time in Queenstown.
Amazing venue! Best burgers in Queenstown. Devon and Hayden couldn’t do enough to make my experience the best! The $12 espresso martinis went down a treat!
We had the Popper Burger and it was amazing. Definitely way better than Fergburger's burgers!
