Was expecting overpriced usual for Queenstown honestly the bar food we had was unbelievably good. Everything tasted sensational except the pork belly which was still good. We had the ciabatta, pork belly, spicy prawns and ribs. The drinks we ordered must've been lost because they took ages to come out but they were delicious when they arrived. Still super expensive but we left happy! Also of course an absolutely stunning view of the lake.

Our first dinner in New Zealand, and really exceeding expectations. From the reception to Mario, who was our waiter, they were excellent and super professional. Score 10/10 of the meal, we had a small starter, main course, dessert and drink... in an exceptional location that leaves anyone amazed. A beautiful experience and a very warm welcome. Thank you
I'm writing this as my 200th review mainly because this restaurant deserves each of these 5 stars. Excellent location as we were staying at the hotel so very convenient in terms of commute! I had a memorable dinner here with my cousin for her birthday and we were very pleased with the service, meals (I had the pork belly then the steak with roasted gourmet potatoes. My cousin had the lamb ribs and market fish), and ambience. I didn't have room for dessert unfortunately but we had a drink at the fire pit after dinner. My only feedback would be that the potatoes could have been a lot more crispier and that we could BYO. A lot of the time, my ideal wine isn't on 99.9% of the wine lists at restaurants in this country so am always on the lookout for places that have BYO so that I can enjoy my favourite wine with my meal. Other than this, I can't wait to eat here again at Wakatipu Grill and am looking forward to my next visit.
We went for our anniversary dinner there and oh boy the view of the lake, the ambiance and the food everything was on point! We had a lamb rump with truffle oil fries and a couple of pizzas. Everything was utterly delicious. Big shout out to the staff as well for making everything better for us. Can’t wait to go back again. Cheers!
Fantastic food and amazing service. Been twice now and can highly recommend. The chef's here certainly know there craft and have set the bar high for my future salmon and steak dinning.
We stayed at the hotel and had the buffet breakfast. Not a wide range of options but has most things you’d expect. Pastries were very nice. Had lunch one day also. BLT came with a large bowl of fries and the sandwich itself was pretty big too. Anyway great restaurant with amazing view!
best mixologist in Rohan. at the foot of Edoras, Ayla, our bar tender made a fantastic botanical forward lil grapefruit gin cocktail that was perfectly balanced and a delightful match for our ride over from queenstown
We visited Wakatipu Grill in late-2019, during the Christmas season. Their 3-course dinner menu was lovely. The appetizer – the baked ciabattas – were crusty, and the spiced butter spread on top was creamy and flavourful. For the entrees: The cured blue cod – tender and smooth. The pan-seared salmon – so succulent, and the sauce was sublime. The turkey breast, however, was overcooked and rubbery. Broccolini and garnishes tasted old. Dessert was fabulous – we love the pudding platter, the chocolate mousse and that creamy cherry mascarpone trifles. Overall, we were pleased with the dining experience.
I didn't really like the lamb ribs because the meat was too fatty and the salad on the side was not nice either. But except for that, everything else was wonderful!! We really enjoyed socialising with Hash and Phoenix at the bar by the fireplace.
Celebrated my birthday with both high tea and dinner at Wakatipu Grill. Good view, good food, made even better with amazing service by the service staff. Thank you Hilton Queenstown for making my birthday an unforgettable one.

Fantastic chicken nibbles and chips to appreciate the stunning view. The staff are super friendly, although seems to be a lot of training going on. Would definitely recommend this place as a stop in.
Our 10yr wedding anniversary Dinner was made extra special here with some little surprises from the staff - don't think it was for our anniversary I think they were just being generous - bringing us a new canapé to try while our main was being prepared and then a pre dessert dessert (!! Love this new concept) their evening menu was inventive and fancy. I had the fish which was salmon with some fancy sauces etc and my husband had the eye fillet with a mushroom tart and beef tongue in some sort of pasta pillow - really need the menu to explained it well. But the highlight for me was the personal touches, service and the chocolate sponge dessert which was a surprise and delight with every mouthful.
It was my girst time to go and have dinner in such a restaurant and belive me it was awesome, service, people,environment,food all things is best and they created a beautiful and rememberable experience for me. I would recommend to go and try that once.

Ate here at our anniversary. We were served by luciana from Argentina! Her service was lovely and the food was amazing! We ate Lamb and wagyu with chips and broccoli and it was 10/10. The soup of the day was very nice aswell!! Thank you Luciana for the service and the lovely experience dining with yous.

Great venue. Unfortunately the lack of staffing is showing. It's not their fault but the experience can only be given 4 stars because of that. The lack of staffing is endemic off all of Queenstown unfortunately
