Excellent place. Great coffee and unique breakfasts presented well and quickly. Staff good and knowledgable. Lots of gluten free options. Parking outside.
Visted Queenstown in July 2016. Used to live there a while ago and Halo was good then. Let me say it is just as good now. Lovely staff regardless how busy it was, and the food and coffee was always on point. Loved the Breakkie Burrito, French Toast and omletes. Free wifi and nicely set next to a church. Loved it.
Popped into this place on a Saturday morning because a friend of ours recommended it.
It was busy when we got there but we were able to seated straight away. Coffee was ok but came out very fast!
I ordered the Ranchero, which l enjoyed very much! Generous servings and everything was nicely prepared. My friend ordered the standard bacon and pouched egg on ciabatta . The bacon was nicely cooked and crispy and once again there were heaps on the plate.
The place situated right behind the old Anglican Church, which adds a lot if character to it.
Our meals were reasonably priced which is a bonus.
HALO is a gorgeous little cafe/restaurant right across from the Novotel - so convenient for us! They serve breaky until 3pm which is awesome. Decent menu selection at affordable prices. Staff were lovely. Chairs nice and comfy. Will be here a lot during our stay!
Food and service were both excellent! Went for breakfast two days in a row, would highly recommend a visit. Wait times for food were great, even despite being short staffed one morning.
Had the avocado and feta smash...really nice!!must try if you are here..nice cozy cafe..has both inside and outside sitting options..coffee and hot chocolate we had was also good
Great place for lunch, nice service
and food, many similar venues around but handy to shops. Prawn cutlets were great i'd come back when in QT again
It's been a few years since I've been in Queenstown, so he was my first visit. I was with my friend who lives here and recommended I try I out, as it has some good veggie options. She wasn't wrong!
I ordered the breakfast burrito and not only was it quite sizeable but very tasty as well. My friend had the French toast, with an added side of bacon. After seeing her dish come out, it was a bit disappointed I had not seen the French toast on the menu, it again was a generous serving and looked absolutely scrumptious.
Wait staff were friendly and attentive. There is seating inside an out but with good shade I couldn't pass on the outside opportunity.
I will be back before I leave, I know this.
I did return and had the chickpea & kumara burger, so amazing! The caramel milkshake was pretty darn decent too!
What a great find. Beautiful sunny day to sit in the courtyard.
Their burger was best have had in Queenstown (sorry Ferg). The Huevous Ranchero perfect. Smoothies, excellent.
Service fantastic.
Highly recommended.
Spent four days in Queenstown for a getaway and landed Tuesday 15 September around 9am and feeling bit hungry so we stopped at Halo, a random place we found and seemed not to busy. Placed out orders and found a table in the sun. Service was fairly standard, not great but by no means terrible. Surprisingly the food came out very fast. Very generous size portions. Wifey had the big breakfast, beautifully homemade hash browns, and nicely cooked meats. I had the 3 egg omelette, light, fluffy, very fresh bacon and avocado. Coffee was average, but the berry and banana smoothie was spot on.
Four of us in for breakfast. We all enjoyed our food. I was really pleased to find gf French toast, such a treat. Three thick pieces of bread beautifully dipped in egg and fried and blueberry compote and maple syrup disguised any gf dryness a real winner.
Awesome we place! Come here daily for coffee before work, I usually phone up and they have it waiting there for me! Great service and fantastic coffee.
Really nice spot in the heart of Queenstown great service
Good find. Names Halo as it is next to a church, this cafe/restaurant ticks a lot of boxes. It is an inviting space that caters all day for your needs. We stopped in for a coffee and the cappuccino was solid while the maccachino also did the trick. The food menu looks the goods so I will return to check it out. But a good stop for a bite or coffee on a nice day sitting in the outside area. The location means it is out of the hustle of the main streets which can be good for a little escape. I like it!
Almost our local cafe when we visit Queenstown, has a pleasant large interior and friendly staff, plus a nice menu, and outdoor tables for the hardier types! I had the omelette where I could choose three additions from a list - mine were onion, bacon and cheese. It came out Calzone style, on the too large side, but still good. The home made bread that came out with the omelette was amazing!
Had the most refreshing meal hear after a long night out in Queenstown! I recommend the Breakfast burrito and I nice cold juice of your choice. These Guys know how to make good food and have an epic location! Definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a good place to eat breakfast!
I've often had a breakfast burrito at Halo. I like the outdoor seating and proximity to a green area. Have never gone there for any other meal. Would highly recommend it for breakfast though. From memory they squeeze their juices fresh too.
