Got fish and chips on the lake front shared between two. The meal we got was the $10 meal including a battered hoki fish, upgraded to medium chips and a drink. Some of the chips weren’t as crispy as expected as they were cut into bigger chunks and the fish was a bit greasy in my opinion. Overall, a decent fish and chips shop near the lake front that isn’t too expensive and worth a try.
Actually went to the wanaka establishment and tried their fried kiwi which was surprisingly nice. Very obvious it’s popular among the locals and it’s definitely something you won’t find in Melbourne, so definitely give that a go!

🔸Deep fried Kiwi! Didn't know it was a thing but actually really juicy and sweet, and the cinnamon sugar really complimented it

🔹The family pack includes 2 Hoki with fish bites (which we also believe was Hoki ....) and we couldn't pay to change it. It was a lot of Hoki.
🔹Wasn't too entirely impressed with the Hot Dog, kind of tasted like the Australian Dim Sims but more mushy?
Erik’s fish and chips was delicious. The batter of the fish was golden extra crispy with the fish inside sweet, flaky and juicy. Walking down to eat by the lakeside made the eating experience even more satisfying. Chips were fair and could have been better.
Yum. $10 meal deal is of a good portion. Very large piece of hoki, crispy and tender. Chips are chunky. Very nice to go wi tartare and aioli sauce. Never get enough sauce. Oyster is tasty too. But I prefer the meal deal.
Met all expectations from internet research. Personally the best fish and chips I’ve ever had! Recommend the family meal deal but definitely overkilled it serving way more than 2 people. Must have the fish with tartare sauce!!
We came to this place while being stuck in Queenstown before Christmas traffic, which turned out to be a good call. Great place, great accessibility, two containers in between buildings, separate dine place if it is raining, couple chairs outside.
Their fish and chip combo is everything you need to get rid of hunger for next 2 to 3 hours, depends what are you doing. Very tasty fish and crunchy, yet soft in the middle chips, which is a rare combination these days. Also props for food not being super oily, which makes it enjoyable by every bite.
Also, they are busy, so allow at least 10 to 15 waiting time.
Great classic kiwi fish and chips. Most places make me feel quite sick afterwards but not Erik’s. The chips were rather salty but I know some people do like them like that.
I knew it long time before i arrived in queenstown. I curious to try. The fish is so thick but still crispy outside. we had a big cut of fish. And Surprisingly, they're certified Halal.
I just walked through and saw this place, I tried fish and chips here, they were good fish was crispy outside and I ate when it was still hot in cold weather, so nice I ate with tomato sauce, but not enough sauce hehe
Came here after receiving a coupon for their sauce lol. We didn't give it much thought and came around for a quick fish and chips. We were surprised at how good the food was. Staff were friendly and price was reasonable. Location is very convenient. We had ours to take away and had it by the lake. Perfect afternoon. We'll come back for sure.
Ordered the $25 family meal, super filling and super fresh! Loved the fries and there was so much fish we could barely finish it haha but overall great experience, lovely staff and nice outdoor area. When in Queenstown and craving fish and chips make sure to visit this spot!
I'm a big fan of the blue cod, calamari and chunky chips. It's my go to takeaway because the batter is beautiful and light and they can deliver to my door which makes for a super easy meal when you don't want to cook. My husband loves the hot dogs too!

Being a typical Aucklander you'd get the same fish (Hoki) and when you're in a different place and able to try other types why not go ahead and try it out! Had a Dory $6.50 with the fries in gravy and cheese $8. All I can say is I'm so happy I tried another type of fish. Better taste and a little sweeter which I quite enjoyed. Fries in gravy and chews you say?? Well I'm a massive fan of fries in gravy and cheese. It honestly tastes like a mince and cheese pies minus the mince just fries as the replacement. Loved every bite. Two trailers one where the food is cooked and one where you can get away from the cold to have your fish and chips. Enjoyed my meal, stoked with the dory as well. Next time I'll try the blue cod.
Overall very happy and satisfied.

Everything tasted great here but the hoki and oysters definitely stood out. Loved the batter and the curry sauce we ordered on the side was such a nice touch, it tasted good with everything! The deep fried pineapple reminded me of an apple pie and was so soft and yummy.

Oysters were great , fish was great, broccoli got a bit too much oil , basically all are fried food 🥰 good for those who love fried food. Service is superb. Thank you for the friendly gesture. There is an outdoor and indoor seating , you can choose (if available) 🙏🏻😳
Loved Erik's fish and chips. The batter was crispy and not too thick, with a homemade taste. The selection and quality of fish was excellent. We ordered bluefin cod, calamari, and dory.

I was so excited and thankful to be able to enjoy delicious gluten free battered fish (blue cod) and potato scallop. Thank you! I would have appreciated thicker scallops and spiral potato, but the fish made it all worthwhile.
It is nice to be able to eat indoors during this cold weather. The staff are nice, they explained to us what the set contains and answered our questions patiently (coz we are not fluent in English).
Their fish and chips are so good. The outside is crispy but not too oily. You could also choose the types of fish and sauce you want, which gives a lot more variation.
If you wanna try it out, I recommend to just order a normal fish and chips set (1 fish with fries). We ordered a family meal deal for the 3 of us. Turns out it contains a lot more fries than we thought and we can't finish them 😅.
This place was recommended to us by our taxi driver on the way back from Wanaka. We were starving and wanted to try some traditional fish and chips. This place really hit the spot - 10/10 yummmmmmmmy! The batter is so good! Crispy and delicious. Fish was huge, service was great.
Great service. The girl cooking was singing away and it was just a nice vibe. We came here to try the deep fried kiwi fruit. The batter was delicious but unfortunately I was not a fan at all of the hot kiwi fruit, but that's just my opinion. It was fun to give something different a try.
Got the Hokita , cod fish calamari and eriks handmade chips, all were good light crispy batter not oily and fresh. Pricey though, 2 pax came up to 65$ for a food truck lunch, sauces $2 each
Unbelievably tasty!!! Chanced upon this from Google Maps and it’s a work of wonder!!! Would definitely return again! I’m Asian and I can definitely say their chilli sauce is spicy enough! Love it!
Honest quality of fish variety, nice thin crispy crust steamy tender fish. Definitely value for money. Recommend the Aioli sauce, also the malt vinegar. Interesting dish on menu will be the fried kiwis.

We came for dinner tonight and being English fish and chip lovers were pleasantly surprised by the quality of everything we ordered! Considering the whole menu is gluten free the batter was crispy and light! Which is perfect for anyone who isn’t a fan of heavy beer batter (like me!)
Service was absolutely amazing, staff were extremely friendly and helpful while we were deciding what to order! Best service we’ve had since being in Queenstown!

Delicious fish and chips and great halal option in Queenstown! Fish was fresh and batter was not oily. I ordered both their homemade chips and kumara wedges and again, not oily and crispy till the last bite. The fish and chips might be a little too overseasoned with salt but if you do enjoy that, i believe it will be a great meal experience nonetheless!
