Stumbled upon this restaurant whilst we were hunting for a breakfast location in town. I had the corn fritters which weren’t special but nevertheless delicious. Does coffee better than the other Queenstown cafes are eve been to.
I have been there so many times and I would recommend everyone because of there amazing food and ofcourse the cocktails , mocktails by the bartender Shawn . Must try paella , churros , spinach croquets , venison . Everything is👍
Last night my partner and I were so confused of where to eat dinner, cause there are many choices of course. Until after half an hour of walking around we decided to eat here! We were welcomed by a lovely lady who took us to our seat of choice and patiently waited for our order. Our orders were:
Octopus Tapas: It was actually our first time to eat this sea creature, and we find it really tasty. The sauce gave more flavor to it.
Paella: It was fully loaded! Mussels were huge! Taste wasn’t that extraordinary and they can do much better.
Porterhouse Steak: It was cooked just the way I requested. Meat is really tender and juicy.
Came for breakfast, had the hash with chorizo and i added bacon on the side. I was surprised to find that the hash wasn't a fritter or rosti.. They were just potatoes! Tasted good but i felt weird eating a big plate of potatoes for breakfast.
The bacon though.. They must've done something special to it.
Great place for breakfast! Close to town, good price too and reasonable portion sized meals. Nice environment, the wait was a bit longer however the overall service was great :)
I don't understand how this place has 3.2 rating when it was the best food I had in Queenstown?! I had their scrambled eggs with sausages for brekky and they were 👌🏻
Presentation and food was great.
We came back then next day and had oysters, the "Toro Hash" and their Bloody Mary which was pretty delicious.
If you want good food for a reasonable price, this place is a great little gem.
Many places, I found, had a very "high" rating, but when going to them, they just seemed like touristy less-than-average types.
Toro was great, not to mention the atmosphere of the place is really fantastic and the staff were genuine and helpful.
I was just walking pass by and went to this place on Sunday as the place I wanted to go was packed but this place was not fully busy. However, I am very pleased that I came across to this place as it was pretty nice place to have a meal. Spacious restaurant with lots of table, nice decoration/interior as well as friendly staff. Food was also well presented with full of flavours, was happy with my luck and decision =)
Had a really faultless breakfast here! For a new cafe I have to say I was very impressed. I had the hash which was delicious and a great coffee! Will definitely be back.
We happened to be walking past and almost didn't notice this restaurant until the lovely lady at the front door indicated there were free meals for kids from 5-6:30pm for each paying adult. After looking at the delicious menu we decided we had to come back, since we are also a fan of Spanish cooking. Queenstown is known for its rustic, wooden and low ceilinged character venues but this place stands out with clean minimalistic lines and subway tiling. My fish dish was such a work of art that it was almost a shame to eat it, and the patatas bravas were the best ever..

" good food does not have to be complicated " is what I have always believed in coming from a country where diversity of food in in abundance.
My family and I stumbled upon this restaurant while looking for something different that Queenstown has to offer and was fairly surprised on a section on their menu called " the taste of toro " in which we will be served random dishes form the menu decided by the chef. I was sold on the idea of not having to decide what we are having for dinner and jumped in head first.
We were also pleasantly surprised to find out that they do cater for small families with their simple yet straight forward children's menu so that the adults can dine in peace. Having placed our faith in the chef and with the little one out of the way with his kids menu and colouring book. As we wait for our food, one will have to soak in the atmosphere and easily forgive them for not having good wifi connection. Do not bother facebooking and let the food come in enjoy everything they have to offer.
As food came, we were not disappointed . Good presentation, well timed, simple, tasteful, delicious and generous portions enough to feed 3 adults ( we paid for 2 as we have a teenage daughter and was unsure of the portions ). Their passion for food and cooking is clearly shown and impressed me was when sampling the varieties of dishes as we progressed through the night.
Thus, won me over to have earned the highest point I could give to any food establishment. I do not bother with average or poor restaurants as they will not live to see the light of day but I will go out on a limb for establishments that has earned my time to comment or write about.
All I can say is come with your friends and family, do as what we did. and let the chef and crew express themselves and enjoy the food. it will be a memorable experience.
sincerely

Came here for breakfast and has the salmon bagel and my husband has the hash. Both delicious! Best bagel I've had, the cream cheese was nice and savoury and the capers were toasted and tasted so different in a good way. Will be toasting my capers from now on! Great food. Will try our dinner one day.
Nice relaxing environment. Service was friendly and quick.
Coffee was good, and meal well priced for what's provided.
What a find! Great brunch both visits. Loved the decor and the feel if the place. Music by Kendall and service by Gemma. It's a must.
Just had some take away but the atmosphere and coffee make me want to come back for a proper sit down!
Great presentation, portion is on the smaller side.
$15 for 2 craft beers and gourmet wings. This is a steal! I would eat here every day if I could.
Breakfast was wonderful. Food was fresh and very tasty. Sitting outside made for a great atmosphere. Pancakes were a highlight on the table but my big breakfast wins first prize in my eyes. Coffee was made well and beans were a good mix. Staff were friendly and accommodating.
Good friendly service, prompt delivery of a well presented, well made meal.
Would come back again.
Friendly restaurant, great staff. Have been here for breakfast and dinner and both were tasty and fresh. For dinner note that it is designed similarly to tapas so you will get great little dishes to share. We had two "small bites", a starter and a main and were well sated
We were in NZ for a week and came through Queenstown a few times each time we stopped we had breakfast, lunch and al
so dinner at this place.
Ordered a variety of things and all were exceptional quality. Great service and very easy to get a table while we were there.
Will definitely go back there when we return.
Could not have a nicer dining experience. Good great. Staff delightful and helpful. Don't fuss but are there to respond if needed. Decor very pleasant also. Overall very good restaurant. Our 3rd time back in 3 years
Have been here many times, but this time was by far the best. After settling into their refined menu, Toro have upped their game. Portion sizes are very generous, food tasty and service always with a smile. Recommended!
Awesome restaurant, food absolutely delicious and service outstanding. Had a lovely brunette English girl (sorry forgot the name) and her service was attentive, friendly, honest and accomodating with my twin 3 year old girls.
Enjoyed prawns with chorizo, meatballs, calamari, potato bravas, olives were to die for and many more yummy tapas.
Went twice for dinner whilst on holiday in Queenstown, as once was not enough! Definitely one of the best restaurants for delicious food and awesome service. Thanks guys x
