The New Era Cafe in Rawene is a true delight! With stunning harbor views in the heart of the town. The blend of an art gallery and cafe creates a unique ambiance. The food is delicious, the coffee is on point and the location is unbeatable. A must-visit spot!

Fabulous cafe on the Hokianga. Spacious place that is also an amazing art gallery with a lot of very nice art pieces on display. Live musician was playing some relaxing guitar. Perfect place for a breakfast, lunch or dinner. It was open late on Sat (til 8pm) as we discovered, after finding the takeaway up the road closed at 6!! The New Era Cafe food was delicious, clean and prices were a bit Aucklandish, however we were happy to find this quality place. Great selection of tea, freshly made pizzas, yummy burgers and veggie options. Staff were very friendly and food came quickly, highly recommend.

Beautiful cafe and art gallery, tasty chicken and bacon panini, savoury scone and chocolate cake. Also that was the best iced mocha that I’ve had in NZ The gallery is really amazing with many articles to buy. The service is great and kind.

After a walk around Rawene decided to stop on for a coffee. Really lovely cafe, great decor, friendly staff, and great coffee. Tried their kumera cake and it was big enough for two, served with yogurt, bush honey and little flower, was absolutely delicious! The art gallery in the same building was interesting and beautifully presented. Plus a second hand book shop completed the experience. Great place to stop and wait for the Narrow car ferry.

Good breakfast awaiting the ferry. Eclectic store with art work and continuous playlist of Beatles songs in Reggae style.

Delicious (and HUGE) vegan ice cream made with fresh fruit. Also yummy vegan cake. Super cool art in the cafe, worth doing a detour to Rawene for!

Excellent place to have breakfast, friendly staff too. It's a good spot, close to the ferry. The chicken burger is not gourmet though it is gourmet priced. Maybe stick with breakfast.

What a lovely little gem! Fantastic collection of local art and tasty treats. Definitely worth a stop while awaiting the ferry (and even missing a few to really enjoy the neighborhood).

Thankyou so much;your cafe was a highlight of our far north tiki tour. We two shared the BIG. breakfast as a very generous sized platter. All beautifully and efficiently presented. My widely- travelled UK friend, said it was the best cooked breakfast she had ever eaten! Staff were welcoming and couldnt be nicer. Anne Marie and Denise

A gorgeous spot for the best Eggs Benedict and coffee you'll have this far north. Couple this with a lovely sea breeze and you've got the perfect cafe experience.

Had a perfect Mother's day lunch with my darling 15 year old daughter, my best friend and her daughter, and my dear Mum. They make a most delicious and generous greek salad with the freshest of ingredients, so much feta cheese I couldn't finish it! The burger meal was intimidating in size and serving style, loved by a hungry teenager. Freshly made ice creams and iced coffee were nicely presented and yummy too. Thanks gals !
