This place is fabulous. Very delicious food and coffee. We ordered a California burrito and a cinnamon brioche for breakfast. Huge portion of food. Tortilla chips that came with the burrito is so good and the dip is perfectly matched. Not forgetting the very delicious burrito. On the other hand, the cinnamon brioche is perfect, impeccable. The food here is ways beyond my expectations, I will definitely come back again on my next visit to Rotorua. Btw, they serve the well roasted kokako coffee here! And I love it. Heaven.
A nice peaceful sunny cafe with an eclectic choice of healthy dishes which are otherwise not that healthy . My boyfriend and I particularly loved the Couscous salad - this was absolutely a delight to have it healthy and high on taste! This is an absolute recommendation! Along with this we had an open chicken sandwich with bacon which was equally scrumptious. We particularly liked the way the tea pots were served in a knitted quilt !
The perfect place to have breakfast on a lazy day!
The staff were sweet and prompt too.
We enjoyed our dinner at the Abracadabra Cafe. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was served quickly. Most importantly it was very tasty. Good value for money too, especially because we got the daily special.
We dined on a weeknight and it was quiet. We are very happy to recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice meal in Rotorua. Thank you.
Amazing food and wonderful service! The bounty hot chocolate is to die for. I had the Huevos Rancheros and asked for extra guacamole and chipotle cream on the side-heaven! The ambience is really nice too with eco friendly resources.
Wow frigging wow. Fantastic greeting and quickly seated despite becoming busy. Good service and the manager was actively managing making sure everyone was well taken care of.
Corn chips and guacamole were a little expensive but very nice.
The seafood tagine was spectacular!!!!!!!!
The bustop tagine was great.
The children’s fish and chips was huge and the fish pan fried rathe than deep fried. Be aware the service is so prompt that the kids meal was super hot.
Favourite cafe in Rotorua! The venue is spacious and has a nice indoor/outdoor flow with plenty of seating options. The coffee is perfect. The lunch menu is varied. We had the burrito and couscous salad and both delicious.
Have been here multiple times and it's my fav cafe in Rotorua! The cumin spiced chips are the best fries I have ever had, hands down. The staff are friendly and the owners are there a lot of the time too. Wait for food is never long and their menu is awesome, there's something for everyone. I've tried half the menu and the only thing that wasn't good were the buckwheat pancakes, but everything else has been near perfect. Nice drinks menu too. Will keep coming back for sure!
Had lunch here yesterday in the green room. What a great place when you have children along, no chance of them disturbing other diners! Although it was a busy day service was quick and friendly and the food was amazing. Loved the idea of a box for the kids' fish and chips and the drinks in a mason jar were great! I had a peanut butter and chocolate smoothie.....OMG seriously yum!!! Would definitely come again.
We booked the green room for a dinner party which was nice and private. Service was good, it was quite a busy night so staff were working very hard to meet the demand as well as serving us with a smile. We hadn't eaten much Moroccan food but were pleasantly surprised with the dishes we received! Food was fresh and tasty and serving sizes were massive! Definitely good value for money and had an all round enjoyable experience.
Great food , will be back . The nachos were spot on . 👍👍👍👍👍👍.....
Went here on the 11/09/2015. Lovely little place heaps of cool little off the side rooms, garden bar etc was really nice. We only had coffees here but was definately a place me and my partner would go to again.
Amazing food! Amazing hospitality! Amazing coffee/hot chocolates! I go here on a regular basis ... pretty much weekly! I highly reccomened it for brunch, lunch and dinner!
This place was recommended to me by a friend, and she was so right! Friendly helpful staff, great atmosphere, and the food was amazing!! The grand burrito is huge but hubby worked his way through it. My mango chicken tagine was creamy and delicious, and as we had our 8 month old who was getting tired, they gave us our dessert to takeaway. (Walnut and sticky toffee pudding, also great) Would go back next time I'm in the area.....also the cocktails are pretty darn tasty too.
After an experience that no one should even have at Nuvolare ( wasn't served for 25 min!!)
I phoned Abracadabra to see if there was an available spot for 2, and although it was fully booked they managed to come to the party with a table!
It's totally as it sounds, MAGICAL ! Mouth watering flavours with each and every bite! The service was 1st class, the food 1st class too. And the bill... Abracadabra ..... Inexpensive !
Dine in and try it, I hope you have the same experience as we have had.
I'll let the food do the talking on this one 😊🍴👌
Were greeted straightaway, thank goodness I had booked a table as the place was pretty packed.
I had the extra long island iced tea, it was pretty good-could've done with a bigger wedge of lime though.
The tapas I ordered with the other person were spicy prawns-cooked well and tasted good (but were not spicy enough), falafels (chickpea fritters)- not overcooked and had a good amount of flavour, Moroccan chicken strips-nice to eat and the lamb sliders-had the right amount of cheese and spinach in them.
Would I be back? Yes
This place is awesome. The owners are lovely and the staff give great service. The food is unique and delicious and the non alcoholic drinks are great
Great coffee, friendly & down to earth staff :-)
Love the gypsy-like decor, very interesting.
We make a point of coming in for a coffee when we are in Rotovegas.
Back again, still a friendly & happy atmosphere.
Still great coffee, great staff.
However, may be time for a spring clean as the tables & s&p shakers were a bit grubby - perhaps a busy might the night before? Anyway ... still one place we make a point of visiting.
We dined here as a family in the July school holidays. The place was busy but pleasant. The staff were friendly and accomodating. The children were given unique colouring and activitiy packs to entertain them - they loved them, nice touch! The decor was fantastic, felt like I was on a real holiday overseas, even the bathrooms were decorated in theme. The meals were fantastic, good sizes and great taste. Not entirely authentic morroccan but more of kiwi with a morroccan twist. Still it was very good. Prices were a little high, but we had a great experience dining there. Liked the entertainment book coupon too.
Best breakfast menu in Rotorua. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Highly recommend.
This place has to be one of the best around. Been several times and am always impressed. Went as part of a large group for a stag night and even though we were highly intoxicated and would have been difficult to cater to the staff were awesome and made us feel welcome. The food is just plain sensational and I would expect to pay more for this kind of quality. I recommend the squid salad but everthing I have tasted has been top notch. great coffee too. Abracadabra = magic.
This is an excellent place for breakfast.
Fast, fresh, full of flavor, great quality ingredients. Lunch is excellent too.
Service is friendly and they make a nice strong coffee.
This is one of the most consistent restaurants in town.
Only lost a star as you are closed on our day off when we would most likely come for breakfast! (Mondays).
What can I say.... Target got it right!!! 10/10!! I love this place, the food, the coffee, the staff, everything is just awesome (which is why i'm a regular!!!) :D
We went to Abracadabra for my 30th a couple of weeks ago, we have never been before but heard very good things about it. There was 12 of us altogether and we were in one of the rooms. We all absolutely loved our meals, the staff were very friendly and the service was great, been out in Rotorua for dinner many times and must say it was by far the best place we have been in a long time, we will defiantly be going again.
We went for dinner on Friday before the marathon although the restaurant was chocka it was excellent service and even more delicious food. Although we were a group most of the group ordered the seafood Tagine and loved it! I had the chicken & chorizo salad as the menu had so many delicious options I could not decide and chose to go for something I thought was simple. I was wrong it was a delicious salad and definitely not ordinary! strongly recommend it and the atmosphere with the themed coloured rooms are really neat.
Had several mals there. each one an eating experience. Excellent menu, first class friendly service. Food is good value. The chermoula squid sald is delcious.
WOW! What an amazing dinning experience! I went to Abracadabra for dinner last Friday night! It is exactly what Rotorua has been missing. The food is really good and the staff are really friendly! While we were enjoying a couple of drinks in the bar after dinner we were entertained with belly dancers and later fire dancers! It is definilty somehwere I will be going back to on a regular basis!
Congratulations guys, you have created something amazing!
Staff were lovely and sweet. Our food was so yummy and the presentation was 10/10. We went back again next day for drinks for our drive back home and would definitely go back again. Lovely people and service, very welcoming.
A good brunch venue with a unique flavour profile that was delicious. We were the first here on a Wednesday morning, and the service was good. We had two flat whites which were very tasty alongside the eggs and bacon on toast, and the French toast with bacon. The chef had forgotten the bacon but this was cooked and corrected within minutes. This had been recommended both in a blog and a visit New Zealand book, and we certainly would recommend a visit. The French toast came with coconut yoghurt and homemade compote which had an Indian spice taste. These were great additions to breakfast!!
An amazing price for incredible food. The Tunisian spiced lamb shank was succulent and wonderfully seasoned. The surf and turf option of the steak was very delicious. Highly recommend the calamari.
The restaurant was clasic and very cosy atmospere and warm welvomed from staffs. We ordered steaks 'surf&turf". Wow it was amasing present and gorgious dished. The tzdte was amasing amd mouth waterimg and very delicious. It was lovely meal and pleasant night. We will back when we visit Rotorua again.
Cute cafe! A separate vegan menu stole our hearts. Plenty of options! Delicious food and good value for money. Our dishes were really generous. Lovely staff and ambiance♡♡. Has a deck very well protected from the cold, with heaters and see through plastic curtains. The owner clearly put thought into every little corner. Yummy but still healthy, smoothies, mains, salads and cabinet food. Will be back!
Location of this place is top notch.
This place has good vegetarian options. We ordered Veg Burrito (Made with Jackfruit) & corn chips with salsa.
Food was delicious here.
Lovely atmosphere and staff. The cabinet
Food was great and the menu looked great a well.
Very accommodating with our wee dog.
2 areas you can have your dog, covered at the front and lovely area out the back.
Didn't think much of the place at first, then the food came out. Delicious and filling. So good.
We had the scrambled dukkah eggs, they were perfect. Didn't even need to add any salt or pepper.
We also had the gf French toast, delicious & perfectly sweet.
Coffee was great too.
Absolutely delicious 😋 enjoyed the atmosphere, service, coffee and food.
Great service and awesome food, has a Mediterranean taste that we all loved.
Strongly recommend
Went for an early dinner I had the Steak Surf and Turf and my Daughter had the Grand Burrito. My steak was perfectly cooked for Medium Rare, and was quite tasty. The chips were very nice, among the best restaurant chips I have had. My daughter also really enjoyed her meal.
Really nice. Can't believe how cool the bar down the back is, and to have the enclosed areas outside at the back - great to bring kids.
Coffee is good as well.
Check out my photos- they had a ridiculously giant sausage roll for sale in the cafe...
We ordered entrées for dinner, it was a first time here. The Jalapeños were quite spicy but to my liking. We weren't really fond of the Chilli prawns. The meatballs and baby ribs were nice. The garlic cheese bread was YUMMY! I also enjoyed the Coconut Green Tea, good size pot.
Absolutely delicious breakfast and coffee. Friendly staff with great service, funky venue.
Such quick service and some of the best South American/ Mediterranean style cuisine I've had EVER. Waitresses are very friendly and host quickly. The food is very reasonably priced and they give Huge portions. NZ Must Do check!
I went to this Cafe for a Sunday breakfast. The coffee bean (Flight Coffee) tastes great. I had an espresso and their big breakfast. Middle Eastern/ Turkish lights and decor with rugs. A good experience thanks.
