Went there to have 酸菜魚Hot and Sour Fish Soup with Pickled Greens. It cost $75 dollars. Also we had steak and eggs with fries.
This is a restaurant with traditional Chinese food and western food . Surprisingly, they won the best fries award back in 2011, so I had to order some fries to try. After try
Highly recommend this restaurant. Tried their red snapper fish n chips, fresh oysters, pork belly fried rice and the 酸菜鱼. . Never expected to have such good level of Chinese food in NZ. The oyster is fresh too.
Good price to quality relashionship. The place looks nicely clean, and has good customer service. In my case I paid 21 dls for two spring rolls and a won ton soup.
There are two tables outside to have your meal if you have ordered a take away.
Who would have thought you would be able to get decent Chinese food at a fish & chips shop?!
The dishes were really tasty and above average. My favourite was the blue cod - cooked just right and it wasn’t rough at all. Fish and chips was tasty too, the owner said they used rice bran oil which does
Good fish and chips, on line ordering, worth a visit when in Rotorua. It was our first go at Kumara chips, which were tasty but not as crispy as I hoped they might be.
No wonder it’s the best in New Zealand! It definitely earns its name! The staff are really friendly. The food is amazing! Especially the Tarakihi fish. It’s a local fish and it’s super fresh! The potato wedges were out of the world!
The restaurant layout is interesting, except the lighting is a bit dim. The flavors are all good, and the heat of the fried food is well mastered. Especially the very good fish and chips, as well as a variety of other seafood, very suitable for children to have dinner here. We especially recommen
Absolutely amazing and delicious. The fattest oysters in Rotorua, and possibly the tastiest ones I've tried in New Zealand! Come here every year I've visited Rototrua, and the quality of the food never falters. A bit on the expensive side, but totally worth it.
Delicious food, friendly service, just perfect
Must be New Zealand's well hidden secret restaurants serving southern and northern Chinese dishes. Amazing food, definitely worth a try. Limited seating, first in first served.
Ask for the secret menu!
The deluxe platter was great, really good fish, juicy and tender. Best wedges I've had in my life, no joke.
During my family's 3 days stay in Rotorua, we went there to eat twice. Oppies was featured in a Taiwanese travel programme, and has gained many followers since. The Chinese menu is great, and even the fish and chips (especially the fish) is awesome!
First meal in Rotorua! Got the recommendation from google review. The kids were able to eat fish and chips while the adults enjoyed some Chinese food. Oysters and fish were fresh!
