I've been here twice and it was very good both times.  I'm no expert on coffee but the mochaccino here is the best I've had anywhere in New Zealand.  For breakfast I've had the chorizo omelette which was good too.  The service is friendly and efficient and there are a few areas to choose to sit in.

We went here over the weekend on a busy morning when the Rotorua marathon had just finished. Given how busy they were, the service was fast! I had an eggs Benny, the hollandaise is always a hit and miss with restaurants. It was average but the poached eggs alone stole the show for me. The eggs were perfectly cooked!! My partner had the big breakfast, not your typical big breakfast as it didn't have many elements in terms of quantity. For instance they had only one slice of bread and that could've been 2. I ended up sharing the slice I had. Anyway he did rave about the high quality of the breakfast inspite of disproportion on the dish. Nonetheless it was overall a great experience with awesome customer service!

The back story : Sunday morning brunch options proved to be more difficult to find in Rotorua central than expected. Many were closed, or the open ones were more of a bakery than a cafe. So when Aroma cafe came into view with a proud flag signalling it was open, we were delighted to find a place to sit down and eat.

Setting : The interior was large and spacious and new. With a larger space upstairs housing at least 10 tables plus and outdoor back area and tables by the windows by the counter and tables on the street - this was a very large cafe with options to hold small and large groups.
With soft music and a nice breeze through the main door , it oozed a relaxing atmosphere . Conveniently located by the Rotorua museum proved it was a useful stop on the way to other places and if you sit on the outdoor chairs, you can have a good view of the lake.

Food: The menu had both breakfast and lunch options. These were reasonably priced - with cabinet options averaging below $10 and larger menu options around $15-20 including a big breakfast option for just $19. Pancakes, french toast, eggs benedict , bacon and egg options were all there and from the other tables, I could see were beautifully presented. Lunch options ranged from burgers to salads and even a steak for $19. They had a kids menu too. I ordered a hot chocolate, Louise cake and sausage roll from the cabinet. These were very well done with crispy light pasty around a meaty sausage, light egg white with coconut on a crispy base for the cake and the hot chocolate was hot - an important factor for a good hot chocolate to melt the marshmallows.

Occasion : cafe style brunch with good seating and modern decor

Revisit potential : 10/10

We had a voucher so decided to visit for breakfast with friends. It was a nice little place, served the standard breakfast options. It was a cold morning in Rotorua and this place was cold as well.

Food and coffee was good, worth a visit if you are nearby. Easy parking outside.

A great place for lunch, service is good and can easily have a nice lunch in an hour and be back at work. The Blat is wonderful, have been twice now and everyone was very happy with their meals.

Came here for lunch firstly the place is very warm and inviting the staff is very friendly.

The coffee is excellent, near perfect if not perfect.

The food Eggs Bene - was perfect the eggs were poached perfectly and plenty of flavour on the plate.

The BLAT was equally delicious, the aioli, the serving size everything was delicious.

The sweet treat caramel slice was also yummy. We will certainly be returning again ... and again

A great lunch stop. Friendly and accommodating staff (turning my BLAT into a ELAT - no bacon, add an egg). $5 for a medium coffee, and the coffee was good and hot!!

Stopped here for breakfast. Had the buttermilk pancakes which come with berry compote, maple syrup, fresh fruit and swapped cream for yoghurt- fantastic! Partner had bacon eggs and hash browns. They were also done to perfection. Coffee was excellent. Would definitely recommend and return again when next in Rotorua!

Such a wholesome cafe! The atmosphere is so welcoming and warm. The service is timely and incredibly friendly. I ordered pancakes with bacon, I was not prepared for the work or art that came out on a plate. It was clear that the chef put in so much effort and passion into the food and presentation. There was not only pancakes and bacon, but my plate was packed with fresh quality fruit. The bacon was cooked perfectly and the the pancakes were the perfect combination of sweet and savoury. This is absolutely my new favourite cafe in Rotorua and I would recommend everyone to visit!

Aroma is always a good place to be, some of the best coffee in town, as well as the food. Nice outdoor area with lots of choice for seating. It's just one of the best places in town to catch up with family and friends well offering good vibes, good food, and good coffee.

The food was AMAZING 🤤 I had the Ham & Cheese Croissant- it came with a small side salad, a Custard Tart which was the BEST Custard tart EVER and a Vanilla latte. Will definitely be back. We came at busy time so our hot food took a little while but understandably with the amount of customers. Great friendly service!!

Quality cafe with good cafe food - cakes, tarts, savouries, and a menu. Beautiful space with lots of windows and an outdoor area. Plenty of vegetarian options but not many vegan options. Overall, a good cafe!

Wow, biggest and best breakfast we had in Rotorua. Coffees were great (the Mocha had a little bit to much chocolate for my taste, but was still good). The atmosphere was great, the barista was really friendly and the whole place is bigger than you would expect from the outside

Nikayla and the team at Aroma are feel good experts! You feel the good vibe immediately whether it be with the big smiles as soon as you walk in or the dangerously good food and coffee (with local A2 milk!!!). You always leave a little happier 😊

People's this was a first time visit to this very spacious cafe that has great indoor or outside deck & courtyard seating options. Maybe outdoor chairs for more comfort could be condidered. A relaxed atmosphere combined with lovely flavoured coffee (in a real large sized mug), beautiful food options (the chicken panini & coffee nut slice was delicious) & friendly, smiling staff made for a very enjoyable experience. Be mindful that their good reputation may precede your visit so may well be very busy, as they were on our Saturday lunchtime, this obviously being a reflection of their success. An excellent cafe asset option for our town that I fully recommend. Steve Franklin Pukehangi

Tasty decaf long black. Not an ideal place to go if you have multiple dietary restrictions as there aren't many suitable options. Other people I was dining with had meals that looked good, though. Friendly staff. Quick service. Great patio out the back with lots of seating.

Cute little cafe. Parking out front. Order downstairs. Seating area up a couple of steps. Different sized seating arrangements available. Windows let in beautiful warm sunlight on a Sunday morning. The food was delicious. Had the blueberry pancakes, just wonderful. Perfect place to stop in on your way through. Look forward to eating here again on our next visit in the area.

Wicked food! Nice outside area. Left my wallet there that had a fair bit of cash in there and the owner got a hold of me and gave it back without a cent missing!! Was over the moon. Went back again to support the business the next day for breakfast. Solid 10/10
