The oysters here are brilliant! They are the freshest I've ever had. Just beautiful. We were there on a Monday 31. Dec and the staff was amazing. Very friendly and helpful. If I lived any closer I'd come here every day. A dozen oysters for $15. Well worth it.

Amazingly fresh, thoughtfully served already opened on the half-shell and with fresh lemon slices. (Or in a jar if you prefer.) Even the one person in our party who doesn’t usually like oysters liked these oysters.
Outstanding service and the oysters are incredible. Thank you for the Mothers Day oysters with our order. Sensational flavours. Do take the time to visit on your drive to Russell. Take cash as this is a slice of New Zealand as it used to be. NO EFTPOS. Watch the oysters being harvested as the gannets sit on the sea fence and the smell of smoked fish fills the air. A piece of paradise with lovely people who are happy for you to share in it. Quaint little covered eating area and picnic tables. Throw the empties (shells) straight back into the sea. This is absolutely the BEST oyster shop in the world............(been there eaten those in Scotland, New York, Australia, South Hampton, London, Baltimore), nothing compares. Thanks for another enjoyable visit.
Fresh Oysters... and yes, they have EFTPOS. The parking space is really small, 4 cars at the same time can be challenging.
Note: Google maps tell us to cross the road one block before - so be aware.
They need a little more of publicity on the road :)

The oysters here are delicious - they were large, creamy and succulent. They were very fresh and at $15 per dozen (opened), we'll be back for more!
