Review Nanyang Flavours - Shannon

Glessel Galicia
Amazing food and an even more amazing customer service! Our meal was on average $18-$21 per order yet the quality is unbeatable. I am so glad more Asian cuisines are popping up in areas like Shannon to show diversity in the community. Iā€™m glad we had made a reservation already as all the tables had been reserved when we arrived at 5pm! Such a great hidden gem in Shannon, definitely worth the drive.

Had a beautiful meal on the weekend with 8 fellow classmates from the 1982 class of Shannon School. The service was friendly and prompt. The meal portion sizes are huge, right from the starter to the main! Which is great value for money, considering the most you'll pay for a main meal is only $19.00 Will happily travel hours again to have a meal there!

Taste of Malaysia in Shannon. The food has been 'kiwied' but is still recognisably Malaysian. Curry puffs are delicious. Everything needs more spice, but then it wouldn't sell well in Shannon. Shannon's loss. I would love some authentic Nonya flavours, personally. Surcharge on debit cards is a big put off.

A hidden gem in a small town. By far the best curry I ever tasted, perfect flavour and spice along with perfectly cooked meat. Staff was super friendly and welcoming, if you stop by this restaurant , it is something you have to try for yourself.

Great place to have a taste of Malaysian cuisine. Not exactly authentic but definitely one of the closest to the original servings and taste, especially with the reasonable prices. Friendly people at the helm, always warm and accommodating. Definitely worth the visit and a hidden gem in Shannon

Worth a drive from Palmy to get these yummy dishes! Their nasi lemak with ayam goreng is outstanding. Absolutely flavourful fried chicken and perfect spiciness sambal. Definitely come back to try other dishes. šŸ˜Š

We often stop by Nanyang Flavours when travelling between Wellington and Palmerston North. Each time we have been, we are met with fantastic hospitality, delicious food and drink, and very generous portion sizes. We have loved making our way slowly through the menu, but always return to our favourites, including the divine wontons, roti, and vegetarian curry laksa. The restaurant is calm and inviting with fun music, and lots of customers for both takeaway and dine in. It is wonderful stopping by Shannon and seeing how this restaurant has been embraced by the community. We look forward to visiting again very soon!
