My family are regulars as Miss Moos is one of our local coffee shops. Tracey and her staff always give us such a warm welcome. We often have a large group and they don't mind us moving the tables around. We love that children are made welcome with colouring in and plenty of appealing kids' food and drink options. The china cups and saucers help turn a morning tea into an experience you don't have so often these days. The food on offer is delicious and the drinks come hot and fast. The bathroom is always spotless (a rare find in many cafes). Go along and enjoy something a bit different.
One aspect of Missmoo’s that really stands itself apart from other tea shops has to be there sprucy china’s they serve while dining in.
Walking around St Heliers, I was after a spot to relax after a day around the beach. Not really liking the choices on offer of the places beachside, I whipped out my phone and looked through Zomato to see if there was anything interesting within a 5-minute drive. To my surprise there was Missmoo’s there wasn’t much on Zomato about it, but I’m always up for a bit of tea so off I went.
When ordering my tea, the lady at the counter was kind enough to let me have a whiff of the different flavors. I ended up with the Lime Blossom & Chamomile. It had a citrusy sweet smell and was remarkably smooth.
I always had myself a ‘tea cake’ which was filled with raisins. Not what I would normally order because I’m not the biggest fan of dates, however, I do realize that it is important for people who to expand their tastes buds. I found the cake to be filling, an abundance of raisins a perfect choice for raisin lovers. I liked that the sweetness of the cake which seems to come naturally.
In terms of atmosphere, I adored the family/homely vibe here. A constant stream of families came in while I was typing away, and there was such a lively positive energy around the café.
Showstopper: A delightful experience, the café was unpretentious and the tea was fabulous.
Overall Grade: A-
This is such a cute coffee shop. Beautifully decorated and the flowery cups look super cute as well. Very friendly service and they serve allpress coffee which is one of my favorites.
Friendly local cafe in St Heliers that has just opened. Their outdoor area is fantastic. Owners are so welcoming & nothing is to much trouble. Love the decor - everything from the cutlery & cups through to the chilled water container.
This cafe is all about traditional home baking & recipes. A must try is the South Island cheese rolls as they are super yum. Mince savoury had flaky pastry & was full of good quality mince, peas & carrot. Rocky road was thick with chocolate & other goodies. The cheese scone was a hit too,
Coffee was strong & well made & the juice refreshing.
Great to have a new local cafe that really cares about what they do
Had a really great coffee at Miss Moos this morning. Strong and nice and hot. The cabinet food is all home cooked and everything is done to perfection. The beautiful Royale Albert crockery and the warm friendly atmosphere make for a wonderful experience.
Fabulous little place with a variety of yummy baked treats and savoury options plus lots of beautiful teas to try. Loveliest owners, friendly staff, beautiful colourful cups/teapots/plates and a great atmosphere. Always a great range of food available to choose from and they can also do high tea :) Miss Moos has been my fav east Auckland cafe for a few years now and my friends I bring to visit love it too. I would visit more often if I lived closer! Worth checking out if you're near St Heliers during opening hours! :)
Fabulous place, lovely friendly staff, so welcoming, stunning food, amazing Hokitika whitebait fritters as well ❤️ thanks so much for such a fab experience, can't wait to visit again
Missmoo's Kitchen is an absolute delight! A hidden gem I wish I'd known about sooner. Friendly service, wonderful ambiance, delicious coffee & mouth-watering pastries. What a treat! A new firm favourite for sure!
Excellent service and very nice pastries and sweets. Great local in St Heliers for a relaxed cuppa and a bit less fuss than in St Heliers beach. Very amicable owners. It is family owned and operated. I will be back with the family.
Sadly, rare are the places where Work is Loved, where customers are valued and one leaves not only with the great taste of food and coffee but with the best of all, that great feeling of seeing humanity keeping strong. Tracy and Mark as well as all staff will be awaiting You armed with cleanliness (Royal kind), sincere and loving smiles (not those fake ones), wonderful and envying work ethics and professionalism. Hats off and with the deepest reverence I wish these people the very best in life and surely recommend this place to all who want their money and beings valued at best. Don (the most grateful but also "the fussiest"customer around with the best intentions for all).
Delightful, cosy and delicious! My favourite spot for herbal tea, delicious pastries and scones.
A seriously good local cafe - great hospitality with fantastic food to match.
Wonderful ambiance, amazing food, great coffee. Will visit again. Highly recommend.
Lovely cafe with delicious food & a great atmosphere. Bone china cups, saucers & teapot make it very special.
