A wonderful experience this afternoon at the Tai Tap store to celebrate a friend's birthday with a High Tea. All 4 of us had a plate each with a lovely selection of delicious food. Highly recommend it for a special occasion

Visited for breakfast on a Saturday morning, service was good and the food came out quickly. Well presented and tasty the only problem being the cost, $27 for an Eggs Bennie and another $10 for a smoothie is putting the cost well up there

The store may be modest but so worth the visit. We went for the high tea as there were few other places that do this on weekdays. Every item was outstanding. Staff were friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

Driven by never stopped but so glad I did today. Big cafe with outdoor seating and craft shop inside. Great food and service. Clear that staff know many who come in. Parking out front and clean toilets. A hidden gem.

The Store Tai Tapu, I had always wanted to go here. My expectations were blown away, there is a gift area with such cute & quirky things. The atmosphere was welcoming. I ordered a ‘Very Berry Smoothie’ I sat down in the charming outdoor area. It came quickly and it was a decent size and it tasted great. Overall, I think more people need to come here, it’s a hidden gem. Definitely will be back.

The coffee was a underground which I like and the barista was fine. The cabinet food was actually amazing! Would go back here to try other food. Loved the dappled shade in the court yard.

It was a year ago! I wanted to remember this place! I was impressed! I heard it while driving by! I found this place after looking at the picture now! A cafe I saw while passing through Akaroa! We had coffee and brunch and it was so delicious! It was delicious and I was happy~ Lucky!

Wow, this place has nailed customer service, great coffee and tasty food. A friend and I went for a late brunch on a sunday. When we arrived I could see almost every table was full, there was a line at the counter and the kitchen staff were working in what looked like a small kitchen. The line didn't take long, the lovely lady behind the counter greeted us with a warm smile and promptly took our order. With 5 minutes our coffees had arrived. I had an almond flat white. Super impressed with how good the coffee was and how quick they came out. 5 minutes later our meals come out. They were the perfect size, very tasty and warm. I'm very impressed with this place - smooth operators. I will defiantly make the trip again to eat there.

Ican not put into words how much Peter help me out with a problem half way across the world, I needed a jelly mold and after reaching out to a lot of people Perter was the only one who responded and went out of his way to help, I cant thank him enough for his kindness, and even tho ive never been to New Zealand, im giving this place 100 gold stars, And one last note...... Ireland for the world cup 2024 :-)

Always great coffee and food, sometimes a little slow on the service at busy times as they do attract large groups of cyclists etc. Brilliant shop too!

We went for high tea, which you need to book for. Had a good assortment of cabinet food as well as menu food. Indoor and outdoor seating. Sand pit in the garden area, as well as colouring and wooden jigsaw puzzles for children. Would recommend for people with young children.

Brilliant service and brilliant food there really isn't much to dislike. From what I have seen most of the negative reviews here are either old or unreasonable. My experience was fantastic and I had great staff deliver my meal. Food was brilliant to definitely worth the stop by. I could tell they were a bit busy but my needs were still tended to flawlessly and its hard to miss the drastic efforts they go to to please customers!

I discovered these guys do a Vegan High Tea on Happy Cow!! The review was from 2020 so I asked The Store if they still do them and yes they do!!! They have a couple of price options, standard (with tea, coffee or OJ) or with bubbles (unsure if that’s as well as or instead of the other drink options). You can book and just decide if you’re doing bubbles on the day, as I did for a surprise high tea :) As at Feb 2023 it's $44pp (minimum 2 guests) or $54pp with bubbles. We were really impressed with the high tea content - the savoury and sweet options were both great, as was the coffee! The service was also great, from multiple staff. Four stars though as there aren't many other vegan options on offer. More stars down the track if a vegan menu is brought on (and I'm aware of it). The down sides are the road noise if you're outside, the high tea is lovely but pricey and, apart from the high tea, they only have limited vegan cabinet food.
