Hidden gem, not sure its that hidden but i was unaware that Taihape hosts an amazing Sushi shop.

I’m not a local but a regular customer who comes to Taihape for work once a week, I always get sushi but I’ve tried Tempura udon this time and it was so nice! Freshly deep fried crispy veggies and a big portion of Udon with lots of toppings made my day! 🙂

Ordered a chicken katsu donburi and it was the best I’ve ever had 🤯 fresh, hot rice and crispy chicken and yummy saucy veges underneath. And even though they were super busy we waited a maximum of ten minutes, such calm polite quick service!! Really recommend ordering off the menu 💕 delicious!

Sometimes they close earlier than advertised but the food is generally fresh and tasty.
One of, if not the BEST sushi shop I've eaten at. I love being able to pick my own when their is such a collection! Taste was very nice as well, and friendly service.

Very clean, food tastes fresh. The chicken is especially nicely done with no smell, and good flavour. Good customer service, peaceful atmosphere. Perfect stop to eat and rest during road trip.

Great Sushi. Simply just fill a container with what you want and pay at the end. Easy and simple. Like a lot of sushi places the price can add up very quickly after you've grabbed a few things.
