I enjoy having their salmon & cream cheese quiche. Lemon tart also yummy. Service was quick. Nice environment. Hot chocolate and coffee were okay.
Nice little cafe in Tairua. Good coffee, good food. I had the hash high with eggs. Good for a pit stop on your way to/from Whitianga.

The only place in town that makes their own food! I was sorely disappointed to that every other cafe in Tairua serves only supermarket-sourced cakes. Out of the Blue makes a wicked ginger crunch (proper old-fashioned style!) and an AMAZING hedgehog slice. Lovely friendly staff, too!
We wore on the road from 5 am… and out of the blue the coffee shop was there and open ….. it was the best coffee and mince and cheese pie every. The staff was so friendly for so early in the morning .
Nice and friendly little spot with great value options on the toasted sandwiches and a truly wonderful Mediterranean vegetarian tasting platter. Coffees nice, and friendly staff. Top recommendation for road trips or locals alike.

I was able to catch them open! I had a salmon and creamFinally cheese quiche. It was nice and tasty almost too moist. Service was friendly and the price average.
The cabinet could do with more salad type options.
When I walked in I felt it was all home made cakes and pies, nothing raw.
Understandably, we had to wait a wee bit longer than usual being a public holiday...but my brunch was well worth the wait! I'll be back for sure.
I had almost given up on ever ordering my favourite Eggs Benedict again, due to the last four or five from various other cafes.
I'm so tired of thick, gluggy, is-it-from-a-bottle hollandaise.
However, here today at 'Out of The Blue', I happened to spy someone else's order of smooth, just-right-consistency hollandaise sitting atop their two perfectly runny eggs, and after hearing that the cafe makes the sauce fresh themselves, I reconsidered my decision and ordered the same.
My faith in a good Benny has been renewed! 🥰

Dropped in with a friend on a rainy day and we were greeted warmly by the staff. Good coffee and beautiful fresh muffins. Quite empty when we first arrived but it quickly filled up with customers. The breakfast menu looked good.Will be back.
