Fast efficient service & great food, we rocked up to... a line out the door and my wife said now what... what is you rock up to the counter place your order & only a few min later we're walking out with two fish one chips which is plenty for the two of us.
We tried TFS today with seeing it on the Fish and chips article, thoroughly enjoyed all we ordered snapper, seadog, scallops and potato fritters
All was perfect! Except for the smaller potatoes fritters I think they put in complimentary as they were not as good as the 2xbig ones I ordered, the small
Fast, fresh and great for the price. I ordered the Lunch Special #1 for $12 and got a great piece of fish in the burger that was very fresh, and freshly fried chips. It's a good amount for the price and it also comes with a drink. I would recommend.
Fish had to be re-cooked… and they re-cooked my burger aswell to make sure it was hot 🔥… Awesome service!
Exactly what I’d expect from fish and chips, was not disappointed. Tasty chips and plenty of options on the menu. They also let you pick fish out the window to be cooked as one of the options. Would highly recommend trying their grilled fish, very tasty. I do miss their deep fried mars bar.
Best fried fish I’ve had compared to all the other fish and chips shop. The fried Tarakihi is the way to go every time. The fries are mediocre but the fish makes up for it.
Great local fish and chips. Always consistent quality just around the corner from takapuna beach.
We have been regular customers at Takapuna Fish Shop in Lake Road, for well over 30 years. We live locally. It is convenient for us.

Excellent quality fish and chips (we had the gurnard) which was cooked very well. The potato and mussel fritters were very good too. Only qualm might be the portion size for the chips but that's no a deal breaker. Walking distance to the beach too.
Normally my go-to takeaway fish and chips spot on my annual trips to Auckland. Went today at opening, but the hours changed. Waited the 30 minutes difference, and then another 20, but nobody was even prepping the store. Went to competitor around the corner and was very pleased.
Typical sort of fish and chip shop which was very busy on the Friday night we came. Would recommend calling ahead, as it can get busy easily. Good typical fish and chip shop value for money and in a good location within Takapuna. Had fish, hot dogs and chips and they were great.
