The fish was amazing and fresh. We got a value pack for $24 NZD which included 2 fish, 2 hot dogs (Pluto pups), 4 chicken nuggets and a large serving of chips.
Recommend buying your meal and pop down to the local park for amazing views accompanied by fantastic food.

Best fish we had in NZ so far… Really amazing so crisp and tender, will really recommend it. The inside of the shop is very old and not very welcoming, but don’t be put off, you come to eat amazing fish and thats what you’ll get. Amazing job
Best fish n chips and worth the stop if you're ever in Taupo. Taupo was our pit stop on our way back to Auckland from Napier. The fish and chips and seafood baskets made our day. Too good Spa Gate 👏👏👏
Probably one of the best Fish & Chips we have tasted in New Zealand! The snapper fish was tender and delicious, and batter was crispy. Portions were very generous.
Food comes in a box so we just sat in the car next to the lake and ate and enjoyed the view.
Fish and chips are great as well as the squid rings and corn dog. It's also not too pricey. Highly recommend to grab and bring to the lake. Be sure to ask for salt and sauce. Had ours without but it was still pretty good!
The fish was beautifully cooked the batter was light and crispy, the cheese burger was big with fresh lettuce and tomato and a good size patty.

Don't expect to eat there because the place is not conducive to do so witj the limited dining space. But the food was absolutely amazing. Absolute favourite seafood place to go to while exploring Taupo!
Stopped there on way home from Rotorua, was very impressed, best fish & Chips we have had for a long time. Definitely calling in again when next in Taupo, we will try some of their other food products too.

I chose this place from the reviews and could see why people rate it high! Big family of 14 we ordered 2 $60 family packs & 9 burgers. Everything was delicious, fish was fresh, sausages were huge & chips tasted like mr yum chips so good! Burgers omg! I was stunned the Pattie’s weren’t the thin ones
Stopped in on our way north from Hawke's Bay. We're a family of 6 and the cost of a delicious fast food staple, was the best value we've found in years!
Everything about the spa gate fish and chips is good. We had a $24 pack. Two fish, two hot dogs and chips. Good solid meal. Great value
