We all enjoyed our dining experience here tonight and we were completely impressed with the customer service. Our waiter was polite, prompt, and even memorised all six of our orders. Didn't have to wait any longer than what would be expected. The food was fairly priced and there were no complaints, if anything, a little bit of cream with the sticky date pudding would have gone down nicely. We left satisfied and would quite happily recommend the Fox & Hound to others. Thank you for an enjoyable experience.

This was a cosy and friendly establishment with an eclectic variety of dishes and cuisines! The pork sausages of the bangers and mash were a hit with a great snap, dense flavoursome interior, a thick gravy and a huge pile of mash. The seafood chowder was surprisingly good; rich, creamy and with lots of seafood, it's a perfect winter warmer. The burger was simple but well made and the cheese was melted which is something that I always look for! I'd prefer my pattie undercooked slightly but understand that establishments probably don't want to take that risk. The chips were crisp and very good. The pork belly had a fantastic, sweet and sticky hoisin glaze. I would have liked that with a bit more chilli. The meat underneath was soft and fell apart but the top was unfortunately not crispy.

Came here on a cold Thursday night. Nice warm Lamb Shank to warm up the stomache (apologies about the photo... I seriously attacked it before I remembered to photograph it). Lamb Shanks come in 2 varieties and the serving here is of the bigger size... What I would refer to as a Lamb Knuckle. The meat was well cooked, served on a bed of mash with a sprinkling of veges plus a killer gravy. Service was excellent and friendly and not too long a wait for the food. All in all a meal worth returning for and a very well earned 5 stars. Well done!!

CRAZY GOOD, I ordered the sticky pork belly on the small plates menu which was nothing small and it was absolutely delicious, the explosion in the mouth of the flavours was a joy, the pork was extra soft like melting, I didn't stop to enjoy every bite. I really recommend it. Very nice seasonal vegetables as well. The portion is bigger than in the picture but I have eaten it already and I felt that was worthy to share in the reviews ;)

It's all about atmosphere! Think of an English pub. It's lively, and a great place for a group of people to meet and have a social get together. That's what our group of 15 did, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The hosts offered friendly service, were attentive and produced great food for a fair price.

We came in scattered from over the country over the period of an hour. Didn't quite know with how many we'd be or if everyone even wanted a full meal. With our out of the norm requests to up size the table for more guests twice, they were very accommodating! They also easily accommodated us ordering a range of dishes from the menu to then share among all, instead of sticking to someone receiving 1 dish. The food was good and tasty, the prices fair (average) for the region. Their staff is very friendly and helpful. If you're around the Fox & Hound, I would recommend them to you. As it was a family reunion for us, I didn't stop to think to take pictures, sorry.

The 4 of us needed some comfort food and a drink or 2 and ended up having a fairly good roast and some good brews in a quiet cosy setting. The staff were great and the atmosphere was good, just needed to cook the roast and vege slightly less 😁

We keep going back for the chowder. By far the best chowder in Taupo. Great food, the staff are awesome!

I'm not sure is it recently opened. Great grub, got the steak. Nicest I've had in a good while. So juicy medium rare. Reasonable price and served extremely quick. Staff are really polite and background music was nice. Unlike "irish" pubs, there s a lot of English feel to it.

Stunning surprise, a must dinning experience! We have visited many visible local pubs, cafe and restaurants, but the lads at The Fox & Hounds food & service are onto a winning formula! My tip is to now focus on atmosphere and try new music, classic jazz, smooth soul sounds or some old english classic background music. Favourite hidden gem is my No,1 pick in Taupo! Best ever oven roasted Salmon with veg and the lightest & tastiest of sauces, my partner was served chicken salad, we are so impressed we will return with guest locals to share in our favourite restaurant in Taupo. Our hosts are 10/10!
