The food is good and the burgers are huge. For the price though I would expect a small side of fries included. The meal ends up being about $50 each for adults which is a bit pricey for a burger restaurant.
Southwestern Chicken Tenders- they didn’t have much flavour but were a good portion size.
Pulled Pork Corn Chips- the pulled pork pieces are too big and just fall off the corn chips. The sauces had good flavour and the toppings were nice. Would recommend the pork chopped into smaller pieces, or just order the Loaded Corn Chips instead.
Fried Pickles- these were good but I was surprised they were whole pickles, not cut in half or quarters as they usually would be. The whole pickle is hard to bite and I needed to cut it up to eat properly. The ranch sauce is nice.
We used the online order system (barcodes on the tables) which is easy to follow. You can also order at the bar if you prefer. Overall the food arrived quickly and was exactly what we ordered. No complaints, just minor changes to make it a little easier to eat. In the summer the restaurant has a great atmosphere and view of the lake from the outside tables. Definitely recommend going when the weather is good.
Great atmosphere, fantastic service, staff were helpful and really enthusiastic. Food was delicious, burgers huge! Beer and cocktail selection was very good!
Came here on our way home from a body building comp in Napier. Awesome service and good yarns from the manager on duty. Yummy food, quick service and the burgers are better than burger fuel. Decent sized burgers. Clean toilets and family friendly.
From the cheery greetings walking through the door from the manager to the beautiful pizzas,burgers and beer... from one namesake Jimmy Cooper (from Western Australia) to another- fabulous eatery and beers 🍻 thanks for the fabulous times! Best hospitality in Taupo and Dad jokes to boot!
Delicious starters (Korean chicken and squid) and great burgers with great flavours. Excellent beers. Wonderful service. Fast service, too.

Great ambiance and very accommodating staff. Order process is a bit techy, you need your phones to order their menu. I don’t know if they do normal orders. Need to update the images in their website though so that we can see the food. Burgers were delicious, first time having smash burgers. A bit crispy and dry. Overall it was good. Their tap beers we’re great as well.
Awesome food and staff! Best Burger I've had in a long time. Definitely recommend the blue cheese burger and the truffle fries if you're into that. Will be back very soon!!
Amazing little place. The food was amazing and such good portion sizes. The vibe and manager really add to the atmosphere. We went back twice in one day - later for their milkshakes 💕
Jimmy Coops is fantastic, best burger I have had in a long time, great views of the lake and mountains, and the staff are wonderful, you can't go wrong with having dinner here
I went and dined in on a hot, sunny Friday lunchtime. I tried their Coops Classic burger and a refreshing Jack Daniels and coke(JD's) great service.
