Was a really great evening, waitresses were attentive and the food was delish!! Counting down till we get to go back. It was a lovely enviroment and excellent food.
Dropped in for dinner on new years eve with 6 of us. Cute little place with a very homely and rustic feel. Great atmosphere as well. The service was very good with meals brought out in perfect sequence. The menu was fairly standard italian with puzza also. All of our meals were very good. Big serves and well presented. But again the food was very good. The deserts were also very good and as was the coffee. We all had starters with secondi and dolce and also a few drinks each and we had change from $300. All in all a great experince. Highly recommended.
Friendly service and quick food. We had the Bay of Plenty pizza and it was fresh and delicious. The garlic bread was great too! Would have been a million times better with a little butter though. We'd definitely be keen to try more of the menu items if we're ever back in Tauranga :-)
Decided on Salva D'or as a catch-up dinner with a family-friend from far away. Started with the prawns and they were excellent. Really happy with the mains, I got the variety pizza which was generously portioned. Service was great, the owner was a delight all the way through. At the end, I was surprised with the price of the entire meal and would definitely visit again.
We visited for Christmas Eve dinner for the first time and what a surprise. Quaint and authentic with great music and atmosphere, relaxed feel.
Started on the San Pellegrino, delicious garlic bread and some Pinot noir. We had the squid and the prawn starters - both fantastic, surprising large servings were good value, prawns were the winner with an amazing Worcester cream sauce.
Mains we had the Chicken with Frangellico sauce (4/5) the pork scallopini with Marsala sauce (5/5) and the chicken bacon mushroom tortellini (4.5/5) the sauces on the chicken and pork dishes were top class. Most surprising was even though the plating was very homely and not exactly fine dining, the meat temperature, sauce and vegetables were cooked to perfection.
Huge servings made for a quality value feel, will definitely return and recommend to all.

Dinner July 2017.Grab one voucher. Dinner for 2. Steak was GREAT ! ! Friendly service, nice atmosphere, GOOD value, simple but well cooked steak meals. Pizza breads and bruchetta very nice.
Lunch October 2015 for 15.
Pre ordered. Only about 4 had people had the same meals, so thats a tall task. The food was Good ! Everyone enjoyed their meals and no one had a complaint. From Pizza, to Spag Bol, Risotto to Lasagne, Steak Meal to Chicken Meal, Prawns to Fetti. Only hick up was the calamari order came out slight, and ever so slightly later than the rest, but its not like theres an army of people in the kitchen. My steak was a little over cooked to be honest, but the sauces, veges and potato made up for it - and its an Italian restaurant, so should have ordered an italian meal ! LOL
Will return.

First time trying this restaurant. Very lovely atmosphere ! Cosy dinner for two, but well thought out dining to allow for larger groups and so that each table got an experience. Great waitstaff, non intrusive but attentive.
Very good value for money. Shared platter entree 2-3 different cold cuts, anchovy fillets, micro cress salad, blue cheese, feta, olives galore, marinated artichoke hearts, tomato & sun dried tomato and delish bread. Quite filling actually.
Mains - Risotto and Fettuccine. Yum yum ! Not usually one to order risotto, but would return for this. Fettuccine although cream and wine based, wasn't one of those ones that gets heavier - very nice.
Skipped desert as we were too full. Actually - ended up taking a doggy bag of main home !!!
RECOMMEND AND WILL RETURN !

What a great night we had. I always appreciate if a restaurant is being authentic both in sight and sound with great welcoming people same as in any restaurant at Mediterranean part of the world. This restaurant made me feel like I was back in Italy and having some nice Italian music in the background is always nice. The food was amazing! I had a great pasta (chicken fettuccine in a creamy mushroom sauce) and the Tiramisu for dessert (best I ever had). The staff was great, Chef/Owner come out for a feedback and what can I say "what a person" being basketball player for many years and now here in Tauranga with his life experience commited to his cooking with positive attitude and smile. Also his wife was great running the show at the front. We really enjoyed our dinner and will be back for more!

We were greeted by great staff and seated promptly! The service was fantastic and the menu had a tonne of options that were reasonably priced we had the fettuccine and garlic pizza it was phenomena!!! Was great having great tasting authentic Italian food!! The servings were massive real Italian restaurants love to feed so We left with full bellies and 100%satisfied!

Dined here last nite superb service and loaded with atmosphere. I had the pollo piccante and it was devine the sauce was spicy and the meal filling. Husband had the Bistecca Mignon so good you didnt even require a knife to cut medium/rare delightful evening
This place is a home run. It's not fine dining but soul food, cooked with love and care. We have been 3 times and enjoyed it more every time!
We had a great time at Salva D'or Restaurant & Pizzeria on Friday 22 August 2014. I have known the owner for a long time he actually played professional basketball for me both in Auckland and Tauranga. I went to dinner with a group of 4 and we really enjoyed ourselves.
I always appreciate if a restaurant is being authentic both in sight and sound. This restaurant made me feel like I was back in Italy and having some nice Italian music in the background is always nice.
The food itself was amazing! I had a great pizza and the Tiramisu for dessert hit the spot!
The staff was great as well. Overall we really enjoyed our dinner and will be back for more!
Awesome place to visit. Food was excellent with a wide selection of dishes specially for the Appetisers (Calamari and King Prawns) .Place was packed on Sunday with a great atmosphere and our Macedonian waitress was outstanding with her wine recommendations. All staff were great and it made you feel you could infact be in Italy. Compliments to the Chef as our Steak Mignon was perfectly done for me and my Husband. We finish with the Tiramisu and it was great, everything was perfect.

I love this place, it is authentic Italian for such a reasonable price! The courtyard setting is beautiful and the staff very friendly and attentive. We had a voucher but this did not stop the waiters from making sure that we were happy, the best pizza in town and Italian wine's not available in other restaurants in Tauranga region.Would highly recommend!!!

My Mum and I dined here for her birthday last Thursday and absolutely loved it! The waitress was excellent and the Italian bottle of wine she recommended was thoroughly enjoyed. I had prawns for the main which were absolutely delicious and my Mum had steak, which she said melted in the mouth. The only small critique would be the mains need a few more veges. We had the crepes for dessert which were amazing too. We will definitely be coming back to dine here again soon. Loved every minute of our dining experience.

Me and my wife visited from Auckland one weekend, we had a lovely dinner time at Salva D'or.
The food was great!
We started with Greek salad, then we had Polo Picante which was cooked to perfection and Pizza CAPRICCIOSA, we also had house red wine.
The Dessert was OMG! The pancakes (crepes) gave me childhood memories flashbacks !!! You must try!!!
The Tiramisu was also perfect!
The ambient was very inviting, the service was excellent!
Overall, the dining at this place just made our visit to Tauranga to be perfect and another reason to come back for another round.

A group of 5 of us had a great night at this newbie on the block. The food was fantastic. I had a Scallopine Marsala which was absolutely superb. Others had pasta which was nice and fresh and very tasty. Their Tiramisu was one of the best I have tasted. We enjoyed the service and the atmosphere. We will definitely be visiting this place again in the near future,
My wife and I with 2 friends decided we would try out this newcomer to Tauranga.
We are so pleased that we did, the meals were excellent, from the calamari starter through to a excellent Rissotto Marinara.
A good varied menu that will cater for most tastes.
Friendly staff and nice background music.
As this eatery gets known, I am picking it will become one of the districts favourites.
It certainly has with us, and we will return in a heartbeat.
The best Italian food I've ever eaten! Food is so authentic Italian, very tasty, fresh , absolutely perfect and prices are great, very reasonable! Staff are very friendly and the atmosphere is so relaxing! We really enjoyed our dinner last week.
Italian?…very much! We enjoyed everything we ordered, stand out dish was the calamari entree cooked to perfection, delicious! We will be back to try others on the menu.

Small cozy place with great Italian food. Probably the best Italian restaurant in Tauranga. I love the pizza! Though i wish it has more toppings. :) And the steaks were good and very filling as well. The prices are reasonable for the taste and size of the meal. The owner/manager was welcoming and hands-on in attending to customers. It was also easy to book despite reserving within such short notice. Their staff was pleasant, smiling and attentive too.
Turned up unannounced as a party of 8, they took a few minutes to rearrange the furniture to allow us to fit and the wait was worth it, the food was yummy, the service was very friendly, and the price was very reasonable. Would recommend if you are looking for a yummy Italian night out

I am european and I have been travel around, and I can say that this is if not the best, one of the best meals in a italian restaurants I've had. I took Spaguety Carbonara and the Creme Bruele and both awesome. More than recommended. It looks like a very familiar restaurant with not a lot big sitting room what makea everything perfect.
I arrived in New Zealand from Italy months ago and I finally tried an Italian restaurant, where I felt home! The Italian guy and all the staff are amazing people, so kind and friendly!
The pizza were amazing, we were in 3 and all of us enjoyed the pizzas. We will come back to try other food, for sure. Thank you guys!
