I haven't been to many cafes in Tauranga but out of all the ones we've been to this one is hands down our favorite! Some places give you good vibes right after entering and this is one such place! And if you're a cabinet food fanatic like me, you're gaze will be fixated at their mouth watering offerings.
Mocha was awesome, perfect balance of coffee and chocolate! Interiors are well lit, nicely decorated and very welcoming. They have indoor plants which is a highlight for me! Seating is comfortable, they have huge sofas too.
Staff was exceptionally nice and friendly. We love staff who talk to us and smile, you don't want a grumpy face serving you your first morning coffee. LOVED it! Can't wait to be back :)
My first preference always for my morning motivation coffee 💕and their food is great too.. but what’s best is that warm and welcoming atmosphere from the time to enter to the time you leave.. the staff is great.. and the owners are lovely people
Ive been there a few times , the food is always yummy . The staff are always very friendly I have allergies so I find them very accomodating Didnt have to wait to long to get the food out. Well done Robert Harris ps love the gluten free salmon roulade Any chance of sharing the recpe PLEASE
From the moment we walked in, we were pleasantly greeted by a gentleman with a bright smile on his face. He was very helpful in accommodating us -smiling throughout our interaction with him. From the way he communicated with his staff , it seemed to be a family run franchise. We ordered two breakfast meals (one vegan and vegetarian) and two coffees. Long story - short everything was absolute perfection. The coffee beans were perfectly brewed and milk was at just the right temperature 👌 We both enjoyed our meals thoroughly and you best believe there was nothing left on our plates ;)
Popped in here in the need of coffee one day, not expecting much from a chain cafe restaurant.
As soon we walked in we were greeted with an amazing array of fresh and tasty looking treats. We couldn't go past the custard slice. When asked if it was homemade we were told all the food was made on the premises. We had a couple of long blacks with that gorgeous slice and were extremely happy. Friendly service, clean shop. Staff looked happy to be there. Will be going back!
Robert Harris in the CBD is understated, yet just close enough to or offices that we can pop by for an early morning pick-me-up. Each time, the owner/manager greets us with a welcoming smile, even though we often pop in so early that the machine is still warming up!

Wife and I called in to enjoy a coffee at the end of business 1 Nov 2012.
Contemplated going elsewhere as on approaching it was evident they were cleaning and closing.
Asking, "Is the coffee maker still operational" and getting a pleasant and affirmative response we ordered and waited.
The coffee was very much to our liking for size, taste and temperature.
Somewhat surprised and very appreciative when a staff member offered food, emphasising at no cost.
But for my present occupation my passion for coffee could have me a 'professional taster, service provider assessor' - Would be great!
We will return!

I'm not going to lie, I was expecting overpriced food, poor coffee and the taste of ordinary... instead we found excellent staff, food was delicious and great value for money. Coffee was perfect! Walked out happier than going in, totally recommend.
The ambience when you walk inside is welcoming, and the customer service is very warm and friendly. I opted for the lunch special Asparagus Quiche with salad NZ$12.50. Given a choice of a green salad or the broccoli salad. Oh my! Delish with tiny bits of ham, cucumber, onion, nuts,, and greens with broccoli. Mobility access (ss photos)

Great service, with good food (either off the menu or out of the cabinet) and coffee. A convenient location in the middle of town, good for meetings and working on a laptop, either inside or on the pavement under the veranda. Can be a bit noisy inside, difficult to fault otherwise.
I had to go to Tauranga for a few days and i found this Robert Harris Cafe and thought it was great it has a bathroom and the food I had was delicious there was one slice I kept going back to that was yummy called a wellington slice I would go back for 😊👍
We went to Robert Harris in Grey Street Tauranga last week. I was amazed that it had not changed from when we last went there around 7 years ago.
The food and coffee was still lovely. You can just relax and enjoy your time there.
I met a friend for breakfast and we had the Mince on toast & Egg on toast with a side of bacon which was average. We die enjoy the great coffees & Smoothies.
Very very nice staff, the savory scones are yum. The kitchen food is also really nice. Very standard and safe place to eat.I come pretty often and the scones and muffins are never a let down. Definitely the best and most consistent I’ve had :)

I had French toast and were tasty. Raspberry pie, delicious. Unfortunately took a long time to serve the food.
Open early. Staff were friendly and helpful. Bacon and eggs with toast was a fantastic start to the day. Highly recommend. Thanks Robert Harris Cafe

This cute and cozy café is in the heart of Tauranga and a perfect spot to have a little break or a nice delicious brunch.
I couldn’t decide what to order, but staff member Fynn gave me great recommendations, the Frappés are to die for!

The woman staff there was so kind and I went there next day morning to get a coffee around there opening time but she was waiting her boss who has a key and was late for work so I couldn’t get to cafe😹
It was not busy at 11:00 so no queue. I had a very light savoury muffin. The best for a long time. Great coffee.
