Great little brunch place! This little gem is tucked away! A good selection in the cabinet and they have a range of their own divine chutneys! The food is well made and quite delicious. Prices are reasonable. A solid place for a good hearty brunch!
My hubby and I came here for breakfast on the 03/07/16. I ordered the open chicken sandwich. It was rather tasty but the chicken was a bit dry and the salad was overwhelming! 3.5/5 . My hubby ordered the vege stack with poached egg. It was very flavoursome but quite a small meal. 4/5 Overall we were reasonable impressed with our meals.
What a great experience we had at Botannix Cafe in Palmers, Tauranga. This was our 2nd visit now recently within the month as we passed through over the weekend to enjoy a great spot to sit and enjoy. We had a superb coffee with lots of beautiful sweet treats. The staff were friendly, attentive and a great atmosphere. What a fantastic job the new owners have done. Love the new colours and fresh look!
Fantastic coffee, slices, cakes and brunch - have been here on several different occasions and staff are always friendly (and the resident cat is lovely too). Definitely one of the best cafe's in Tauranga with great outdoor area to sit too.
I love this cafe! The only place we go when over visiting family, We even drive through Bethlehem on our way to the Mount now to enjoy brekie and stock up on goodies to share for afternoon tea. Last week the man had a hearty and perfectly cooked beef stew and I loved the special, a prawn and pancetta salad, it was simple and perfect. Their bakers are very talented and the range of sweets is the best I have come across, lammingtons, beautiful brioche and I always bring a brownie back to Hamilton to get me through the week! Very funky decor always something interesting to look at! Even when this big cafe is packed the service is fast and friendly!
Amazing!Warm and comfortable. Ordered the light breakfast- poached eggs- nicely done, watercress, pesto, sundried tomatos, caramalised onions on toasted bread. Had a flatwhite coffee- a double shot in a tulip cup- how it should be. Price was very reasonable considering the quality of the products.
When I travel from Whakatane, this is the only place I want to have coffee - Fairtrade coffee is VERY important to me. I'm impressed with the notice board offering free coffee in exchange for local fruit. Good on you guys for your ethics and support of local produce! A few other good points to consider - Palmers has an excellent playground for children, a rare find outside of McD, AND it is excellently situated for a break after a strenuous hike at Te Puna Quarry.
By the way, the coffee and food are great! I've never had a lion's face drawn on a Latte anywhere else! Barista with great style!
Hi, I am responding on the behalf of Cafe Botannix,
Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry you did not have a positive experience.
We have now taken on all your comments and will act accordingly.
Great coffee, and selection of food. Have always been efficient, friendly and accommodating. Very nice place to meet for coffee, brunch, or lunch. Their Lemon Tart is divine, and the scones are the best I've had, anywhere. Good selection of teas too.
Always a good stopoff here for decent coffee and brunch or lunch. We had the beef nachos for our gluten free daighter, french toast and bacon for the other hungry monster and the veggie stack. If you haven't eaten for days and all you can think about is a big plate to fill the tummy, don't get the veggie stack - it's only just big enough for a wafer thin super model. Order up the big breakfast for big eaters and hungry teenage boys. There's plenty on offer from the cabinet. Coffees are good enough, but not the bestin Tauranga. The girls are always friendly and most times plenty of parking in the Bethlehem Palmers carpark - after you've doused your body in as much caffeine as you can drink, pick up some pot plants and get into the garden to work off some of those calories!
Amazing food and service ~ lovely staffs. Best carrot cake and French toast in town
Beautiful cafe attached to the garden centre in Bethlehem, Tauranga..when we visited it was quite busy but not uncomfortably so because there was ample seating set in a very pleasant setting.
The coffee size was acceptable but most probably on the small side particularly if you usually enjoy a medium to larger cup.
The food pricing though I felt was a little over the top ... for example a vege scone at $14.90 . I know that prices have gone up but ... !
Overall this is a nice place to catch-up with friends.
Once again a great meal. Busy little kitchen pumps out quality.
Great place for a good morning tea.
Beautiful plants around the plant centre for atmosphere.
Great selection!! And great value for money! Massive servings and we'll made
Chips need to b in a dish that keeps them warm,as a basket allows them to cool down too quickly, making them inedible
Great environment and relaxing eating spot. Food was good... the bacon was a little under for my liking, but I guess with the volumes that came through, it could have been overlooked. I would recommend that you pop in when you're in the area.
Tim.y gluten free options and great hot coffee. Staff are super friendly.
One of the best beef burgers around. Great coffee and a very good selection of other foods. Servers need to be trained to know when to clear a patron's plate away. We did enjoy our meals 👍
They hv the BEST savoury scones, tell yah, they're Primo!!
Always stop here when in Tauranga. Excellent coffee and food selections
Beautiful hot chips , Lemon tart and custard slice were very nice too.
