Love Yeay’s house. Everything is good, especially the curry’s. Service is always pleasant. It’s our go to place in Tawa for a family treat.
Went out with a large group and the food was but I wish there was more. I think we are use to having larger portion sizes. Plenty of variety though and everyone loved their dishes.
Great service, good food - healthy and tasty. Have been back several times, and taken/recommended it to friends. Worth a try. Consistent. Good value. Good selection/choice
great flavoursome food really enjoyed the fish amok and the pork wonton and spring rolls were excellent as well. Friendly service. Shop needs some better advertising on the outside windows to attract more customers
First time having Cambodian food staff explained what each dish was to give us an idea in what we might like to try. Good food great service
Came here for dinner with a friend last night.
The food was excellent, my friend had braised pork in a very tasty broth that came with some steamed rice. I had a beef and round noodle dish that was served with some thinly shredded vegetables, roasted peanuts, vietnamese mint and coco nut cream.
The owners have taken over from the pub that used to be here. They have taken on a challenging space as far as decorating and the feel go. Any decorating would only be an improvement.
Summer rolls if available with the peanut sauce 😋😋 always a great time and some damn good meals. Service is above average, make you feel part of the family!

My partner and I love this restaurant, the food is wonderful and just as good as the food in Cambodia itself! The staff are amazing and you can tell how passionate they are about their family business. Has a lovely homely feel! Best place to eat in Tawa.
Came here last night with a group of 12. We all thoroughly enjoyed the delicious food - wonderful flavours! We also appreciated the modern, new surroundings and most importantly, the very friendly service. Will definitely be returning. Thanks for a wonderful evening 😊
We came here last night for my brothers birthday..the food was amazing A++++ the service was fantastic A++++, the staff really went out of their way to make it a memorable night would highly recommend :)
My husband and I ate here for the first time, and loved it! The staff are so friendly, welcoming, and helpful in describing the food. And the food itself... beautifully presented and tasted fantastic! We will definitely return either by ourselves, with our family of grown up kids, or with friends visiting from out of town. We too left with smiles on our faces!
We have been here a few times now and the food is always very tasty! The staff are great, always have a good chat and a laugh. Always leave this place with a smile on our face!
We ordered the Beef Char Kroeung (GF) and Banh Chaev (GF) and the food was absolutely amazing – fresh and tasty ! Dishes that are Gluten Free were listed down clearly in the menu.
The waitress and waiter that served us were very friendly and the service was quick. Will definitely go back again. Highly recommended
Our family of three went to this restaurant for the first time this evening, one of which is a two year old....
The food was a treat, fresh, flavorsome & nicely complemented by great service. Yeay's is now the front runner for places to eat in Tawa in our book.
The place was really relaxed and the staff were gracious in the face of a little 2 year old boy being a 2 year old boy.
Highly recommended
Went here for a last minute booking on a Friday night a couple of weeks ago, had to sit on the bar stool tables right next to the TV which was loud and distracting, it took a while to get our food ordered and took half an hour between our entree and mains. BUT the food was really good for the price and we were super full at the end(: Also we used our entertainment gold card and they forgot to give us the discount!!
We finally got around to trying Yeay's House and we were not disappointed: the food is authentic and most importantly, delicious. I forget the names of the dishes we had: one was a beef stir fry and the other was a savory pancake with chicken (and wontons to start). All the food was beautifully presented, fresh and delicious. Furthermore the staff in this family restaurant are friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic without being over-bearing. I will definitely be back and look forward to working my way through the menu!

Hard good things about Yeays house and it lived up to recommendations. Very fresh and authentic food with very friendly service. Not a large menu but well worth working through.
Went for the first time for lunch yesterday. The service was quick and friendly and the recommendation (the Cambodian soup) was incredible.
This is my first time to taste Cambodia's food.I have to say~ my friend and I ordered these food are so yummy! This is the best spring roll I had so far!!!
Nice service,nice music,nice atmosphere!!!
Highly recommend:)
This was a total discovery. I'd passed by this restaurant many times and never entered. Last week some friends and I planned to have dinner together and one of them suggested Yeay's House. I was delighted. The environment, the set-up, the food and the service, everything was just perfect. There's nothing missing from this place. Meals are freshly cooked and quick; the toilets are the cleanest I've ever seen in Wellington; the staff are incredibly nice and kind, they make customers feel welcome and wanting to come back and I'm definitely going back with my family. Perfect for families with children, small and big groups; easy parking, near shops.
A wonderful dinner at Yeay's House in Tawa. Delicate Asian flavours, generous portions and friendly service. A real asset to the Wellington dining scene.
We went last night. We ordered the mixed kebabs for entree. Yummy. Then two guests had Red Curry which they enjoyed. A sizzing squid platter had by another was tasty. I had a steamed fish dish which was steamed in a banana leaf and served with rice. I loved it. We felt it was just like the food we had experienced in Cambodia just a few months ago. We would recommend going. Staff very nice. We will definitely be back when in Wellington.
This was hands down the best meal we've had out in a long time. Everything was fresh and the flavours all complimented each other really well. Portions are very generous and well worth the price. You can tell they really care about their customers enjoyment, because the food is presented so nicely and they often check to see if you are satisfied with your meals. Very little waiting time for meals and we were all served at the same time. This is a fantastic place to dine if you have wheat allergy or celiac disease and lactose intolerance. Service here is the best I've encountered in a Wellington restaurant. It's safe to say we'll be back and often.
This was recommended by a friend so off we went.
And it was good. Very good. The food is fresh and interesting. Tasty.
Drinks were big. One best lemon, lime and bitters I have had ever.
Staff were friendly. You almost felt like part of the family.
Would we go back? In a heartbeat. One of our top 5 in Wellington.
Good job team Yeay’s!
Lovely food and Cosy atmosphere. The service was amazing too. It was like we had been invited round to a close friends place for dinner. Very casual and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Really enjoyed our meals. Mixed kebabs, crispy spring roles, red curry with generous chunks of chicken, carrot and potato, and a traditional Cambodian dish - I forgot the name, but not the flavour - it was amazing! Pricing was very reasonable and it was BYO. I'd go back any time!
Yeay's house is a friendly and the most relaxing Cambodian family Restaurant /Cuisine that I've been in NZ or Australia- Melbourne. The owners' are friendly and they are easy to cater for your needs and the food's so delicious. The atmosphere's so warm and loving.
It has catered for my birthday and now recommending it to my friends n family.
A great place in Tawa. It was nice and warm in the middle of winter. The food is great. My wife had a beef soup and I had the red curry. Both were great. The restaurant has a nice spacious layout which means you can have conversations with friends. The prices were very reasonable. Highly recommend.
Yeay's house offers authentic Cambodian cuisine. We've been here a number of times and the food has always been truly tasty, while the service is always friendly. You cannot really go wrong, as we've found everything here to taste great.
Yeay's House was suggested to us by some Tawa based friends who advised their daughters highly recommended Yeay's House as the food was great and the service special. They were right on both accounts, we were made to feel at home and the owners, who host and serve you, were just wonderful. We will happily travel back across town again anytime we feel like eating out.
Without a doubt, every time we eat at Yeay's House it's like eating with family. This amazing family produces the most incredible food and you can taste the love and care with every bite. Dishes are explained well, and allergies are catered for with relative ease because all their meals are made from scratch. No reheated portions here!

One of Tawa's "not so secret" secrets! This place has a very family atmosphere and incredibly friendly staff, and the food very much tastes like a lot of passion flows into it from the family that owns it. A few extra off menu items supporting the tasty range of Cambodian dishes. Don't forget to try the housemade lemon, lime and bitters!
Yes! Super delicious Cambodian food here, similar but different from Thai food. The food here is very tasty, the staff are friendly and efficient and the price is just right. We will be back for sure. Thank you 😁
Warm & very friendly service.
I absolutely loved this place, the service and food was amazing. My son and I are coeliac and the lady that served us was very knowledgeable and went out of her way to cater for us. We will be back!
