Such a cute cafe nestled in Tawa. I was impressed with how reasonable the prices of everything was, and the food presentation was incredible. The muesli was only $12.50 and absolutely delicious. The portion size was very generous and it was topped with lots of fresh fruit. I really hope they make the avocado toast a permanent menu item as all my flavours were beautiful together. The bread also wasn't super hard and didn't require a chainsaw to cut unlike the toast at most other cafes. Again, the portion size was very generous. My only recommendation would be to have slightly more beetroot hummus. Both menu items didn't leave us feeling groggy or ill either, which was a bonus. The cabinet food looks incredible, so will definitely be back sometime very soon. Staff were friendly and attentive. It was quite busy at 1pm and the line did stretch out the door, however the staff were very quick to serve everyone. In spite of it being a somewhat small cafe, it shouldn't take long to find a table as many people opt for take away. Overall, highly recommend Urban Eatery if you are hanging around the Tawa/Porirua area.

I've had the Eggs Benedict with Salmon several times and its always delicious. The bread tastes fresh. Generous salmon And spinach portions. The Hollandaise sauce has a nice lemon zing and goes very well with the salmon and spinach.

Excellent choice of food and great coffee. Don't believe the negative reviews as this place is very good and well managed when I visited in June 2023.

A small cafe with a big heart! The food is fabulous. Not the place to visit if you’re on diet. It’s busy and popular but turnaround is also fast. There’s only a handful of tables to sit in with busy takeaway trade. Parking is free in the street and usually available. Their cinnamon rolls are to die for…and that’s just one feast. Prices are reasonable.

excellent experience in service and quality of food, everything was incredibly tasty, very fresh and also smelt great. the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and freshly baked scones filled the café - which was noticeably clean too, which is a major plus in my books! very recommendable!

Love the coffee here 😊 They're always busy so clearly other people love the coffee too. Their "Pinkalicious" slice is not something I'd typically order but it was the only Vegan option so I gave it go and it was amazing! The breakfasts here are also nice 👌

Drove past today and decided to grab a pie on my way through. Purchased the steak and blue cheese pie for something a bit different. Definitely didnt disapoint. Huge pieces of steak and the blue cheese wasnt too over powering. Looked like they also had a great selection of cabinet food too. Had to quickly leave before I spent my fortnightly wages on all the delicious looking donuts in the cabinet 😅

Excellent cafe in Tawa. Great selection of cabinet food, and good options on the menu too. Efficient and friendly service. Only small downside is there are only about 10 tables inside, and a couple of tables outside. Most tables seating two people, with a high table seating about 6 or 8, so getting a table at lunchtime could be a challenge as the cafe does get quite busy. Top marks, well worth visiting...

It was really nice at the Urban Eatery. They offer a lot different cakes and snakes. Also the drinks like coffee and tea is wonderful. The taste of the cakes are really good and not to sweet. The service is friendly and helps customers well.

A windy Queen's Birthday Monday with most cafes shut, Urban Eatery provided an excellent and generous breakfast with good Havana coffee. Urban Eggs with halloumi and sourdough in the photo - we'll be back!

Great find in Tawa. The eggs Benedict, French toast and milkshakes are a favorite treat with all the family. Alternatively, a quick pie, cake, or fresh sandwich is a good option. Freshly ground coffee and pots of tea. Friendly staff. Clean establishment. Good value for money. Free 60 minute street parking on the main street. Worth a quick diversion off the motorway into Wellington rather than going to a fast food chain.

I think I just had the best donut I've had in Wellington ever, the banoffee pie donut. A+ recommend.

Good food and service in a fairly typical cafe style eatery. Even while it was busy service was pretty fast and good.

Nice food. Lovely service. Small space. Has a nice variety of food at a pretty good price considering the quality. Service is great, they were happy to reprint a receipt that had faded as I needed it for work which was super helpful and very responsive via their Facebook page.
