Always great food and service. the calamari is especially delicious and pizzas are always good too. Will be back
Wow, what a find! Great restaurant with several seating areas and fabulous food. We visited in winter and found a cosy, warm area to the rear of the main cafe. The friendly staff were attentive and well informed with both food and drink menus. The selection of dishes was superb and suited all specific dietary requirements. Our food arrived beautifully presented and well portioned. Always important to me was the ease of bathroom access for elderly relatives and their cleanliness. All score 5 out of 5. We have already planned to return, a true gem!
One of mine and my partners favourite restaurants (hence the many different pics of food, always here!!). Seafood pizza definitely my favourite pizza ever🍕 and the squid sooo good, probably also the best. Love having this so close by
Dinner at Et Tu last night was fantastic as usual we eat here at least every two months cause the food is so good never been disappointed.Service is fantastic and atmosphere is awesome.
We have held many functions from 30 people to a function with 80 people here because the food and service is always the best.
Keep it up Et Tu seen you soon!!!
Amazing food at et tu. We came in a big group to celebrate a bday. Staff were lovely albeit seemingly new. The 3 dishes we tried were all super flavoursome. The pork belly, seafood pasta and calamari entree. The soda drinks were terrible though, tasted very watered down and bitter.
The staff are very friendly and service is great. Just a really nice vibe. Our meals / we both had the Market Fish which was salmon in creamy garlic potatoes with roasted carrots. A gorgeous meal.
Would recommend.
Man now this is the spot. Excellent and super fast service and the food was superb. Really impressed and definitely visiting again. Everything was made on the premises as the freshness and taste was indicative thereof.
Just had dinner there and thought that the food and service was very good.
I had a Scotch Fillet, garlic mash with steamed veges for a main.
The duck spring rolls for entree and Sticky date pudding for dessert.
others that dined with me really enjoyed their meals as well, though thought the pizza was abit overpriced for what they got.
Overall we enjoyed the experience and would definetly go back there.
The Quattro and Calamari & Salmon pizzas .... yummo!! The Salt and Pepper Squid amazing!! The staff were friendly and helpful. I’ll definitely be going back.
Had a nice feel to it! The lady recommended booking next time to get a seat out the back (which looked really cool) the food was really tasty and well presented, but overpriced for what you get and compared to other places where you get the same thing at a cheaper price.
Went here for lunch today and was slightly surprised at the cafe look of it but sat at the back of the restaurant which had a great atmosphere. Excellent service and was waited too promptly with a smile, well priced large servings that were delicious! Thoroughly enjoyed my visit today, cannot fault - 10/10.
Et Tu has an amazing range of food and the portion sizes are excellent. Everything has so much flavour. Absolutely delicious. Service is friendly and efficient. Thank you guys. I will definitely return.
EtTu has always been our regular place to go. The food is always amazing, and some of the best service we’ve ever had from a restaurant. Glad it’s our local
Just had a great meal at Et Tu. At first glance i thought the prices were a bit high but the meals were more than enough, cooked to perfection, staff were friendly, the service was great. Between the 7 adults and 4 children we had a great selection from the menu and we could not find a fault, Thank you to all the staff and especially to those in the background ie, the chefs. Will certainly go back to try more of the menu.
I very much enjoyed my evening here! Staff were very friendly- and we encountered quite a few! Great offering of tempting specials for food and drink. We wanted to order everything on the menu, so we'll have to be back. The restaurant decor itself is not particularly trendy and the space isn't overly ambient, but by no means unpleasant. Definitely would recommend for price and taste.
If you want tasty food close to gome then thid place is the go. Lamb rack and pork belly are amazing meals... home to the best wood fired pizza "NERO" mouth watering flavours. The pastas are full of flavor an the desserts hit the spot. Deff highly recommend for a dinner out.
This place is a MUST!!! For all things great food related, Et Tu is the place to be. The meals are finger licking amazing!! Especially the gnocchi - it is so fluffy and soft - the texture, the aroma and the taste is one to experience on your own. This is my favourite meal and without fail I have ordered it many a times. Hubby loves the steak meals and their gourmet pizzas keep the kiddies busy. Amazing place with an even more amazing group of people who welcome you and treat you like one of their own.
The food here was amazing, the service was quickly and super friendly. When we initially approached the venue it looked to be really quiet, but then you get taken out to the other side of the building and it's a delightful covered courtyard area with heaters.
We just couldn't stop saying to each other how awesome the food was.
We had jalapeño poppers (Zomg you can't seem to find decent ones anywhere these days!) which were phenomenal! We both had eye fillet and the steak was so tender and cooked perfectly (rare). We then had pecan pie and the creme brulee for desert.
We will definitely be back!
We came for a cheeky late lunch as a local restaurant we've been to many times before and would say good food but average service... this time the blue haired lady (new) was so good... soooo good, with amazing empathetic service, there we wanted/needed her, not we didn't, (She even asked if I wanted my wine topped up - very on to it, as some prefer to leave the wine in the bottle in the ice bucket to stay chilled) knew her menu and had a friendly-cheeky style but not-too-much, in any regards (From appearances at our table, to cheekiness, to language etc).
Entree was a pulled pork taco... wow, mains a chicken tagliatelle and steak with blue cheese: BOOM flavours and the photo of a clean desert plate... warm pecan pie and icecream with a sprinkling of crunchy praline.... Michelin Star standards at your local... and I ran Michelin star restaurants once upon a time and normally complain to my wife, but didn't the whole time here today.
I love it when you get these experiences!
Have been there twice and I must say they are an awesome eatery!! Both times I have ordered pizzas, and they have come out fast and fresh! My only concern would be that some of the pizzas are quite plain for what you pay, but it's so delicious it doesn't matter ❤
Ate there last night for the second time in a year, the service was excellent and the staff very pleasant,my wife and daughter had the caramalised onion bread for entree and the eye fillet for main, both were very well presented and perfectly cooked,I had the lamb rack and again very well presented and oh so tasty ,my daughter and I had the cheese cake and sticky date for dessert again well presented and delicious . The ambience is quaint and comfortable and I liked it. I most definitely highly recommend this restaurant
Dined there on Wed 12 April. Table service was excellent throughout the evening. Although ambience could be improved, I felt the atmosphere was comfortable (though I would have liked a cushion on my chair). All meals at our table were thoroughly enjoyed, 2 x steaks, fish with chips and I had the lamb rack and would rate it with its imaginative selection of vegetables as probably the best I've had in Auckland. I always feel you can rate a chef by how well he cooks chips (fries). I sampled those on my wife's plate and they were perfect- crunchy outside, soft inside and delivered hot. So all in all my compliments to the chef and the staff who made us feel welcome and like paying customers (which of course we were!). I'll be happy to return even though it's on the other side of Auckland from home.
After a drive up and down because the restaurant is not well lit from the outside, we found it. very obliging staff. I ordered crumbed fish with no crumbs and salad, the others ordered steak They were really pleased with the assortment of vegetables. My son pronounced the calamari as the "best he had ever tasted." Desert was lovely too - sticky date pudding and baked cheesecake. Would return again.
Great food. Anything you could wish for with the diverse menu. Make sure you book a table as this place always seems to be packed with people. Do recommend and finally good to have a place like this in the location where it is!
Et Tu is a great little place - close to home for me which is ideal. It's a lovely restaurant to go to for a casual drink on a sunny Sunday afternoon, or a nice dinner with a partner or friends. The food is always lovely! The Eye Fillet Salad and the Steak Fries with Homemade Aioli are my favourites. The staff are always friendly but could be a little more knowledgeable about the menu... Would definitely recommend a visit if you're in the area. Unfortunate that it's not BYO though, as drinkies can be a little pricey.
We wandered down on a Wednesday night to find out there was only one table left, which indicated it was a very popular place. Although they were at capacity, the staff were very friendly and attentive and very cheeky at times (in a good way) making it a pleasant evening. We had the special of duck spring rolls as a starter which were faultless and my partner and I couldn't get enough, practically licking the plate clean. There were also so many other specials for the mains (practically a whole new menu) but we decided to stick to something light and simple tonight. My partner ordered the fish and chips and I took a punt on a different flavoured pizza, which paid off pleasantly (Italian sausage, eggplant, ricotta, rocket and a drizzle of honey). When we went to pay, they only charged half price for the fish and chips as they only served a small portion because they had run out - we hadn't even noticed as it still filled the gap, but it was a pleasant surprise.
Overall, great service as the staff seem to enjoy it there and great food (the main meals are up there in price, but they looked like they used good produce) so I would be back for more, and hopefully they'll be serving the duck again!
I couldn't complain at all about the food I had here, but there was a situation unexpected.
My friend asked his pasta without onion, since he is allergic. But when our orders came, my pasta was without onion and his dish full of it. If the size weren't big enough, he would have had some problem. So, they had to make another one for him, while I waited and my food was getting colder.
The staff was very kind and apologise for that, but in a restaurant the staff should always: ask first if people have any allergies; if yes, confirm that what's is in the food when bringing it to table.
Staff was also unable to tell me the flavours of the assorted ice cream dessert.
So, despite of the kind service, I think they should be more professional.
Food was very good though, so I'd still come back there, even with this problems.
Just dined here. Absolutely brilliant atmosphere, service, food and location. The staff were amazing despite being rushed off their feet with a private function out the back. They informed us of a delay in food coming out but I didn't really notice it. The food was beautiful! Melt in your mouth. Absolutely lovely owners and staff. Would highly recommend!!
Came to Et Tu quite a while ago, and we were seated out back, it was a bit windy but bearable...
Only got back into this review because it was in my drafts for so long and it was possibly over 6 months ago.
What I remember is that service was absolutely amazing, restaurant owner looked after us incredibly well and the food was pretty good! Not much to complain about, will definitely be back again, even if it's just to properly review this place :)
Love this place, is my local by work. Great for an after work cocktail on the back deck, a tapas style snack or full meal. Late lunch this arvo for a group of 8. Service is always good and are happy for you to split the bill which can sometimes be an issue with groups. Food is great, good size portions and you can tell they use quality ingredients. Fries are crispy and fluffy, pizzas full of toppings. Also the salads are full of goodies and not just an after thought like at some places.
Recently dined here, ordered the Chargrilled Chicken and Chorizo Salad and was not disappointed. Awesome meal, friendly staff, would recommend this venue :-)
Really efficient and friendly service and good food. Needs more ambience and intimate settings. Great for a suburban meal would go back again in the future
We came to Et Tu one night for a friends surprise birthday dinner! This is definitely a good addition to Te Atatu's restaurant scene.
I ordered the lamb rack which was pretty decent! The potatoes were nice. A few of my friends ordered the fish and chips which was apparently delicious!
One of my friends ordered the lady fingers for her entree, but the waitress or possibly the manager? came out to say that the lady fingers had overcooked and exploded. She asked if we still wanted the ladyfingers anyway but apologized because they had cooked their last ones for the night, and said that they don't usually get served like this. It didn't look too bad when it came out! It did taste different to what we expected though, and it didn't suit my tastes.
The service here is great, and even though we had the little ladyfingers incident, the lady who came out to apologize was so lovely! I'll definitely be looking to come back some time!

🌸Wood Fired Pizza Bread - Fresh garlic and chili, brushed with extra virgin oil($9.5NZD).
.
Once they placed the pizza bread down, it smelled like garlic heaven😻.
.
The pizza dough is really thin and very light, the sides were crunchy and the middle had the texture of a pita bread🤓.
.
The flavors were simple and very tasty! The chili was very suttle, not too spicy🌶.
.
Im glad the pizza bread was not drowning in olive oil, it was the perfect amount👌🏻.
.
We all loved this appetizer, it was a very light yet flavorful dish. It was a good start to our meal😋.
.

🌸Lamb Rack($34NZD).
.
The lamb rack was cooked with a herb crust, the crust was very crunchy🌿.
.
The meat wasn't really juicy, it was average but not dry. I thought that the lamb itself was quite under seasoned, so you need to eat it with the sauce🤔.
.
They served it with a rosemary red wine jus, caramelized shallots, garlic mashed potatoes, grilled zucchini and portobello mushrooms🍄.
.
I really enjoyed eating the garlic mashed potatoes mixed with the herb crust, the zucchini had a slight crunch as well!😌.
.
I kinda enjoyed this dish, but would try something else next time if i come here🤔.
.

===========================
🌸Chocolate Raspberry Cake($10.5NZD).
.
It didn't look how i imagined it to be, it was more of a Chocolate cake with raspberry sauce🤔.
.
The chocolate sauce dribbled on top had the perfect sweetness, make it taste similar to a chocolate lava cake🍫.
.
The cake was very soft and fluffy, but the cocoa powder was too over powering for me. It tasted slightly bitter for my taste😔.
.
The raspberry sauce had a really nice tartness, but the flavor of the cake was too strong to taste it eaten together😕.
.
They served it with a kind of gingerbread flavored ice cream, if only i liked gingerbread😞.
.
For me it was an average dessert, would recommend the duo mousse tho! The mousse tastes amazing🤗.

Been here are a few times now and always had great service and great food. This place is far above the average meal out. Highly recommend the lamb rack and pork belly mains!
Loved it! The staff and service was fantastic and the food was great too. I had the fish and chips (so good) and the chocolate mousse for dessert (and it was to die for!). We are definitely going to return. Great to have a local place with great staff and high standards, thanks Et Tu!
I liked this place, it's cosy so good for a date night, wouldn't recommend for a place to take the kids. I had the seafood pasta which was DEEvine! Hubby was a wee bit disappointed with his dish but the service and entree made up for it. It's great to have a decent West Auckland restaurant!
I ordered the calamari and my friend had the seafood parpadelle. My calamari on the salty side; quite over seasoned but the pasta was cooked perfectly. The sauce was rich with just the right amount of seafood. Good sized servings. Our mains were plenty to fill us up with a garlic bread to share as a starter. We left quite satisfied.
I like eating here as the pizzas are tasty and the atmosphere is nice. I would definitely recommend this place to others. A little bit pricey for some items, but then again, they never disappoint.
Group meal and bevvies on a Sunday arvo was not an issue for the staff of Et Tu. We were seated quickly without a fuss (no booking we just showed up, a group of about 20).
Our drink orders were taken and drinks delivered in a timely manner.
Our food orders without delay also.
I ordered the chicken burger and chips ?
Hubby had the open steak sandwich - devoured immediately.
For a few drinks, 2 meals and a coffee we paid $78 and didn't mind doing so as both dishes were delicious.
The staff very friendly and attentive - nothing was a hassle for them.
Get way and excellent place to spend an arvo with great company.
Just had a meal here with my wife and 2 boys. Great experience. Food was just what we were after at the time - had pizza and fish/chips for the kids. Not sure what their more high end food is like but the pizza was great and the kids food was bang on.
Also brought out crayons etc for the kids. Staff were excellent. We were really well looked after for the evening and the fact that we saw a lot of other families coming in suggests others have worked out that it's kid friendly early in the evening.
Nice job.
Great service. Delicious pizzas. Always great. We always get our yummy pizzas to go. The staff are always friendly and we have never had a bad meal from there.
Super nice place!
They have a deck in the back for a more private meal, very cosy place. I loved the atmosphere.
I've only been here once but there were a couple of things from the menu that they didn't have, which it's always a bit disappointing and there were A LOT OF special dishes that were not on the menu. They all sounded delicious as the waitress was telling us about it, but they were so many that it was to remember any of them by the time she left.
Excellent service, the food so very well done and the portions were big.
Would definitely recommend the place!
Delicious food, lovely atmosphere, a definite go to place for my family! I would name my favourites from the menu but there's not enough space in this review!!!
Firstly I have to start by saying "Thank God it is not owned by the TRUSTS or has anything to do with them". As a chef, I know how hard it is to get a fillet steak cooked to medium well and it was presented eloquently and cooked to perfection for the first time ever! Service was excellent as the establishment is family owned and run. We sat outside on the deck which was very cosy and had a nice ambiance to it.Highly recommend this place and will be definitely visiting again soon. My partner was also very pleased with her main as the Chicken Tagliatelle melt in the mouth perfection.
Et tu is an amazing addition to the peninsulas food/drink life.
I have been here for brunch, lunch and dinner and have never left disappointed. I am a huge fan of their duck parfait - even going as far as asking them to make me a second serving to be taken home - which they were happy to do!
The staff are all friendly and happy to assist you with any questions. The chef has personally come to the table and asked me how I enjoyed my food which also added a nice touch!
Another plus point is that they serve Perroni Beer on tap - Amazing on a hot summer day!
Highly recommended if you are looking for a nice place to have lunch or dine in west Auckland. Must try!
Had lunch there today with a friend and the food was excellent along with the price.
I had marinated steak salad and my friend had a angus beef burger. Both meals were absolutely delicious and filling!
It is great that Te Atatu has such a quality place to eat for locals and visitors alike.
We will be back!
I have eaten there a number of times now and have really enjoyed it. The staff are great and the food divine. I especially loved the potato cakes that I had for Brunch a couple of weeks ago and the lamb rack I had last week for dinner. There are obviously a few minor decorative items still to be completed but that by no means takes anything away from the great ambiance in my opinion. I note the previous comment about the tables being Formica I hope the guy (or girl) who made them doesn't read that as they are obviously hand crafted solid timber tops and look like there was a lot of hard work went into them, like the rest of the timber joinery they have. Its so nice these days to see real timber and craftsmanship
Great meal and service and the quality was good value.
We were advised the meals might take a while but they were well worth the wait and a couple of samples from their good drinks menu meant it wasn't a problem!
My wife's lamb was the best she's ever had and my steak meal was great... and big. I should have been more restrained with the bread we had to start but that was also delicious.
Will definitely be back regularly.
A great edition to the Peninsula. The wood fired pizzas were some of the best we have tried, and the hand cut chips were exceptional. Loooking forward to the outdoor area being opened up. Service was friendly and efficient.
The service was slow but not unbearable, we were there for just under two hours. The food was excellent, anyone who thinks the portion size was too small is a piggy. We had the market fish, salmon and hapuka, both cooked perfectly with gorgeous sauce. Staff were very friendly, but should probably keep an eye on customers' empty glasses that need filling. Overall, great, we will be back. Probably the best dinner we had out west.
My partner and I went to Et Tu for dinner a few weeks ago and we will definitely be back.
To start we had a caramelised onion pizza bread which was lovely. For mains my partner had the gnocchi which he loved, and I had the vegetarian pizza, which was delicious apart from needing a dash of salt. For dessert we had the cheesecake and sticky date pudding, both of which were delicious. I also had a Berry Sling cocktail, which was the only thing I was disappointed in as it didn't have much flavour.
The staff were lovely and attentive, and made us feel very welcome.
I look forward to going back, and may actually do so tonight!
Et Tu is a great addition to the peninsula, and I'm looking forward to going back to try more of the menu. We visited on a Thursday night and it was quite busy, with a mix of couples, families and larger groups. The service was friendly and efficient and the meals arrived in good time. We started with the antipasto platter which was lovely, only let down by not enough bread to put the yummy pâté on. The mains were also great, and I have to say my gnocchi were the best I've ever had, light and fluffy and just perfect. The lamb ragú was also pronounced very nice and my daughter enjoyed her customised Hawaiian pizza with nothing but ham (they will be introducing a children's menu soon). They also do takeaway pizzas. The menu is still a work in progress at this stage, and they are actively soliciting suggestions and criticisms which is a great sign and I think Et Tu will quickly become a popular place to eat, and not just for the locals.
Went for a family members birthday. Food was excellent. In particular the sauces, out of this world!. Service was good despite being super busy. Only feedback for improvement is to buy a fresh pack of kids pencils, and perhaps add a one or two side dish options or kids meal options to the menu, also the tables are wobbly!
Very generous portion sizes. I had the beef cheek and it was delicious. My friend had the vegetarian salad which was also huge and looked yummy. My sister got the steak and for the price it was quite disappointing. A big piece but a lot of fat/gristle to be cut out so not left with much she actually ate which was a bit disappointing for her birthday dinner. Service was okay, we waited about an hour for our meal, not sure if it was busier than usual or not but we weren't told about a delay or wait time until after about 40 minutes.
Would still come back because there's so much on the menu I want to try and I really enjoyed the flavours of my dish.
The food quality was definitely top notch. No doubt about that.
Trust me one of the best places to eat food. Best costumer service.. best dine in experience and best ambience. Went in to dine for my parents wedding anniversary on a Sunday morning and was the best out anything that I gift them.
3.5 stars the food was nice a few bites of the pork were a bit dry though, but overall a good dish. It did seem as though front of house was under staffed but once food was ordered it arrived in a good amount of time. Will probably come again as there were lots of good looking things on the menu
Had a 5pm booking yesterday.
Food was delicious! Hot chips could have been more crispy.
Service was great. Well priced.
Will be our lil quiet dinner spot.
great service and food. I'd recommend a main and dessert rather than entree and main. the portion sizes are quite generous. Vanilla creme brulee was superb!
Simply put, the whole experience was excellent. Service was genuine and attentive, but not overbearing. All four of our meals and desserts were cooked to perfection, and pared well with the wine on offer. Ultimately an enjoyable night and somewhere I look forward to going back to.
Beautiful food. Best dumplings and chicken parmigiana I’ve had. Just moved out here so this will be my new spot. Tastes like ponsonby!!
Went here on the 31st of July, but forgot to post a review.
A little jewel on Te Atatu Peninsula. Very friendly, attentive staff, but not in your face and the food....just excellent. Will most definitely be a regular here.
So we went again and was not disappointed. Try their Et Tu beer, it's better than a Hoegaarden white.
Food was fantastic and staff friendly and efficient. Would recommend making reservation as very popular,. Worth visiting
Great service and the spare ribs fell off the bone. 10 of us celebrating my daughter's birthday. Thank you for making our night special.
Awesome Food ! The Curly fries one of the best I have tasted..
Staff were very nice, and accommodating.
Ordered the market fish with prawns as an extra however they were overcooked. They do not offer garlic bread which was unusual as it's a favourite starter for our whānau.
A nice and small place with great food at a great price. It's one of those places that you can underestimate. However they have amazing food at a reasonable price. Super friendly staff who are helpful. Fast food delivery and did I mention delicious? Absolutely worth a visit and a dinner. I loved it l.
