Dropped in here to see if the hype after winning best mince and cheese pie award at recent national pie tasting competition was overdone.
It wasn't.
Unsurprisingly the mince and cheese were sold out!
Went for a Steak and Jalapeño.
Wow!!
Everything perfect: good size pie, pastry crispy, perfect filli
They have breakfast and lunch. I was maybe time, the food are pretty.
I am eating a Ketvore brunch here. I asked for no chips etc just the meat and eggs. To my surprise The Bakehouse staff even loaded me up with butter too. 😋 Yummy
I'm from Auckland and I can say hands down this is the best bakery I've been too in years! Auckland has a lot to learn. Their pies were completely full and delicious. No hold out on the meat or cheese. Their doughnuts were big, fresh and stuffed full of cream and jam. So glad to have my treat day ea
Service always of a high standard. ..the women there (3 of them ) always polite .. smile and helpful...oh and make a nice flat white coffee ..) cappuccino

Also the owners take tine out now and again for a chat 😊
Awesome food and staff. We are always on the hunt for pies in small towns and these were top notch. Cheers team.
I had a pie alsome heps of filling in it the coffee perfect,just how I love it. The staff there was alsome to. If I get other chance to go back there, I would order the same thing again.
A good rump steak. Probably the better of the ones I've had here in Te Awamutu.

Mine & my daughters favourite go to place for lunch every week. (Sometimes twice a week lol) Best pies, toasties, Mac & cheese & their iced coffee & chocolate drinks are AWESOME!

Stopped by to get some drinks. We had the iced coffee, iced chocolate and 2 chocolate milkshakes. Myself and my partner had the iced drinks and they were yummy.
