We drove down from Auckland with amazing views the hole way. Once arriving at the cafe we asked about the near by hike the staff was super friendly and helped us find our way. The hike was beautiful and felt like walking through a Jurassic Park back drop ending with a gorgeous water fall. We then went back to the cafe and have amazing food and wonderful cake. Would strongly recommend.

This cave visit is better than other glowworm caves I’ve visited and a hidden gem but you need a car or organized tour to visit as it is in the middle of nowhere. Unfortunately you can’t bring a camera so no photos inside the cave (this is for safety reasons) so you can take photos outside. Of note, they have rental shoes and cave pants / shorts so you won’t mess yours up. You will get wet as the waters in the cave that you walk through may rise up to waist deep at times. Also the cave is twisty and you must twist yourself at times to make it through and there is a crawling section (not too long but could be difficult for some). The hosts who own the farm and caves are super friendly and welcoming. The cafe is great for toasted sandwiches and pizzas or coffee / tea. And you just might meet a famous world champion sheep shearer (their daughter) who was in a TV series.

Lovely Cafe situated next to a river. Hugely popular for such a remote location. The food was awesome and at a great price. There is also beer, cooffee, cabinet food along with other freshly baked goods. I would highly recommend the pizza!

I cannot say enough good things about the caving experience I had recently, all thanks to an absolutely fantastic guide Philip! Their expertise, enthusiasm, and commitment to safety made it an exceptional journey. Crawling through cold water, we discovered breathtaking formations and were mesmerised by the glow worms illuminating the cave. It was a truly magical experience! Don't miss out on this incredible adventure and be sure to make time to visit their delightful cafe. Highly recommended for an unforgettable caving experience!

We stopped here for lunch after doing their waterfall bush walk. The cafe is lovely with a beautiful view of the paddocks and really friendly staff. They have a good selection on their menu and they make amazing hot chocolate and pizza.

We had the best caving experience there! The owner phill is the most funny knowledgeable guide. We spent hour and half inside the cave, got all wet and even need to crawling through some path. My 10y son said the best experience ever! And the pizza and beer afterwards!!! My grumpy 13y teen daughter had smile on her face( tats definitely 5stars!) WOW!!! the view from the cafe!

Just stunning service and full on welcome - you’d never expect this from the middle of nowhere. I’d just visited Amon Sul (Weathertop from LoTR) and passed though some spectacular North Island scenery to find the freshest coffee, great cake and smiles. Will be returning to view the caves on my next visit. Please stop say hello and support the little men!

Beautiful, one of a kind spot. The staff are attentive and friendly along with a warm feeling like you're walking into a family gathering. Always treated wonderfully here, and they are so great with kids. I don't think there is a cafe anywhere else like this. I Havnt had the chance to go on the cave tour, but it's definitely on my bucket list. Highly recommend a day trip

We stayed the night at the property before going on a cave tour the next morning. We very much enjoyed our time there. The entire area is beautiful and we were very comfortable while staying. The owners are welcoming hosts and have great stories too. The cave tour itself was an awesome, unforgettable experience. The tour involves getting a bit wet and the water is cold, but it wasn't actually that bad once you get used to it. Also, there is a crawling section in water, but it was pretty easy to get through. I'm tall and didn't have any issues - as long as you aren't very claustrophobic, I wouldn't stress over it. Highly recommend visiting. Oh, and the coffee was great too.
