This place is a real gem. The food is excellent, as is the garden seating area through the back. Warm and very welcoming. Family friendly.

Photo of Croissant cake ordered by Hubby is basically a flash bread pudding which he absolutely raved about. I had already demolished 1/2 coconut.lemon gluten free muffin so it was no longer presentable for photo. Lots of seating at this Upok Cafe - the garden bar is proper GARDEN bar with much more seating outside than in. Lots of cabinet food and also do cooked menu. We took motorbike luckily as parking can be an issue.

Called in this mōrena at the start of my bike ride thru Whanganui for some breakfast. What am amazing Café, #behindthedooron4 Service was excellent, lots of smiles and ka pai vibes everywhere. Atmosphere was lovely, place looked stunning. As for the kai, well, it went down that fast. It must have been ka pai, kao, it was perfect, so scrumptious. I got the Big Breakfast, Cappuccino kāwhe and banana smoothie. All fueled up for the ride ahead. It's definitely worth calling in to partake of their lovely kai and kāwhe.

Sunday full packed with people. Our coffee are amazing with free Whitaker's chocolate, yummy! I decided to have a takeaway coffee as well. Our foods are amply big in portion. We were informed of the Nankeen Night Heron which decided to show early in the morning. Was a sight to behold. Thank you for having a wonderful garden in the cafe. The staffs are all kind and helpful. Planning to spend my birthday in there with family.

Beautiful setting, clean Cafe, original building. Large lovely outdoor seating at the back, peaceful. Well displayed cabinet food, easy to read menus. Friendly staff. Took my nana for Brunch for her birthday. Rung ahead just incase it got busy. Nice window seat reserved with lovely garden picked flowers (nice touch!) Food 5/5 (I had French toast, banana, bacon, syrup with latte, Nana had cheese toastie with black coffee) my meal was so good!! Perfect ratio, well presented. Nana loved her toastie. Golden brown, perfect size. Coffee 3/5 - filled to the brim, coffee can do with a mm under the top to avoid overflow. Well presented yet room to improve. The biggest let down was it was bitter. Everyone likes their coffee different so it's hard to please everyone but the grind could do with an adjust. Atmosphere 4/5 - Beautiful area, plenty of options of seating, clean and tidy. Only gripe was the music was too loud for a Cafe setting and all new aged stuff I didn't think suited the Cafe well Staff 4/5 - all lovely, attentive, polite and AWESOME to see equal working rights and inclusiveness of different abilities. Only thing is I felt the uniforms again didn't fit this particular Cafe however it did give a clean unified look. Yes, probably being a bit critical on a few points but that's what happens coming from a hospitality background. Well done guys!Keep up the great work

Awesome first time visit, arrived not long before closing time. The staff were friendly and our order arrived promptly. Delicious berry cheesecake! Thanks to the staff for the quick tour and pointers about the local wildlife too 😁

We were welcomed once we were in the door and shown menus. We ordered eggs bene and the big brekie, the food was brought out pretty quick and tasted amazing and fresh!. The coffee they use is delicious and it even came with a little chocolate. The staff there are so kind and welcoming. Overall, our experience was easy 10/10.
