We booked a big table for 12. Very busy on Saturday for brunch in December so a bit of a wait but no one was in a hurry. Meals came out one after another, good sized portions. Everything was good.
If you eat too much, there is a gym next door.

We came after the beach food was delicious and good portion. Also dog friendly. We got Turmeric Coconut latte , Hash Stacks and Salmon and Tiger prawns 🍤 Salad. Really satisfy
Exceptional service by Joe! He was really friendly and helpful with anything I needed. He even went out of his way to build me a ramp, made from mats, for my electric wheelchair so I could sit outside with my dog. He said he would speak to the owner about making a few more areas accessibility friend
Great food,great service.They had staff away and were very very busy.The website said book.We did but numerous randoms came in without bookings.They were all seated after a small wait.They were very lucky, but that was the staff obliging.Vaccine passport required.

What on earth! They hid this place well. Seriously one of the best and well rounded menus I've seen for years. Great value, great food, great service. These guys go to show it can still be done well if it's not waterfront flash dining. Highly recommended!!
A bit pricey for the serving amounts (breakfast meal) Have had better, for a cheaper price. The staff here are great, nice outdoor setting.
We stopped in on our way home from the Coromandle to Tauranga. They were very happy for our fur babies to sit on the sunny deck with us.They even had doggy treats for them. The service was friendly and the food was full of flavor. Salmon fillet cooked on a salad with pawns /cold salmon delicious 👍
This is the best. Love the people and the food. I always plan my trips around their opening hours as I am so disappointed if I miss out. Thanks always for the fun even when the power is out they still manage to rustle up a feed!
The corn fritters were lovely but the salad that came with it was divine. I am not a cafe salad eater, but I finished the whole salad and would have it again. Cannot say enough about the staff, so helpful and kind.

Stopped for coffee ( was great) and noticed amazing another customer with a great looking toastie.
Looked at other cafes and being such a lovely sunny day we came back for lunch. We had Ultimate Toastiest looked and tasted just as good.
Surf Shack has the most amazing breakfast/brunch choice and options with something for everyone. Totally recommend for anyone in the area. Heaps of parking and outdoor area as well as dog friendly. Just another reason to not always look at the restaurant/eateries right next to the beach as this one
Lovely lovely food and coffee. We had the bacon buttie with added tomato - the bread was stand out amazing but everything was delicious and packed with bacon - for $14 it was very generous!
We also had the kiwi full brekkie. $25 worth it!! The bread, fresh eggs, bacon and award winning sausages.

Highly recommended lunch stop. Right next to a cute little picturesque airstrip. Thanks for accepting us - your last lunch guests today. Delicious awesome food prepared by Brad our fabulous chef! My crispy spicy squid was superb. The salad and dressing was very special amd classy and well presented.
Just dined at the surf shack food and coffees amazing. I had the goats cheese filo with salad. I could eat this daily so delicious
