Such a great example of a cafe in a country town. If you have international visitors passing down SH1, Waimate is worth a visit. And Cafe on Queen is a good place to stop and try out some of the surprisingly broad range of foods, or just enjoy the nice coffee and check out some of the photos for sale on the wall.

We came here for lunch, the only thing open in a Sunday! The food was so much better than I expected in a country town. The mince pie were hot and crispy, cod was big and freshly fried, it was large portions. The nacho was delicately seasoned in every single piece with a bit of sweet/ sour sauce I love it! Corn chicken soup came with a garlic burger bread. Recommended!
