We've been to Paper Mulberry several times and highly recommend stopping here. The staff are brilliant, food tasty and different and the coffee is great. It's a lovely old building with an eclectic assortment of tables and chairs, and it was very relaxing to sit in the garden on a fine sunny day this week with the beautiful daffodils blooming. There is also a range of handcrafts available for purchase, always worth a browse, you never know what you'll find.
It's easy to whizz past the old church building on SH2, but it is well worth slowing down and making sure to stop here. There's excellent coffee along with a good range of cafe food. The staff are smiling, cheery and helpful.
Sitting outside in the garden is an absolute delight on a sunny day, although inside has plenty of seats too. There's some funky decor, along with a small range of local arts and crafts items to purchase, but the main reason for stopping is the coffee and food, which is way above the quality of the bakery shops which counts for choice in Y'puk.
Superb coffee and great atmosphere. Really good women running it. Good music and lovely, historic building. Highly recommend.
Lovely Havana coffee - hard to come by in the Bay. Nice music too - great service same staff everytime. I like it !!
This is an awesome place to stop and enjoy a break when driving in Hawkes Bay. The El Fresco dining is great, covered or uncovered, fantastic views of the surrounding rolling hill farm land, very good coffee ☕️ and a wide selection of cabinet or menu food on offer. Also has a great little selection of local articles for sale, from handmade place mates to trinket bowls and earings. Really recommend this as a must stop while in HB.
Just the spot that we’ve been looking for on our travels. Food was absolutely delicious and staff were lovely! Highly recommend popping in here on your way past.
Beautiful little place. Just stopped for a bit of off boarding then on boarding fluids. Had a nice pot of tea and a sausage roll. Very nice staff. It was a pity that Transit NZ decided to block the road at Waipawa. Cost 30 minutes on my journey and nearly missed the funeral.
It was lovely, it was my first time and also my friend first time to, Lovely food, I do like how it's like a old farm type kitchen. I real like the miss match china wear, We got beautiful china teapot with our cup's and saucers.. We also got there late, they let us stay until we had finished our desserts and had our last cup of tea. Excellent service.
Excellent quiet spot in the country. Great sheltered outdoor dining area. Nice inside tables. Enjoyed the country atmosphere and situated in a convenient part of Central Hawkes Bay.
Wonderful food. Roast lamb pie and cheese burger, both yummie and carrot cake to share with coffee. Great place to eat. Coffee really good. Facilities also great.
A great place with amazing food, and scenery, I'm a regular there and I always come away feeling full and happy, A+++
Such a nice place! Very interesting on the inside with lots of nice arty stuff to look at. It was fun playing naughts and crosses while we waited for our meal. Food was excellent and well priced. Good for kids as there is a play house in the garden.
Good food , friendly staff and good coffee. It's a great place
Had the eggs Benedict with salmon. A little too much sauce for my liking which was unfortunately cold. Great little spot though. Wouldn’t let this stop me from going back again.
Great service and delicious food. Dog friendly and has a few things for the kids to play on outside
Was fab as usual and i brought my neices from out of town they were so impressed they said i have to take them there everytime they are here!😁
Loved the waffles - the berry mix was fantastic. Will certainly return to this cafe. Good selection of foods.
Wonderful setting. Super friendly staff. Generous portions of yummy food all set in idyllic landscape
We discovered this little gem of a place today on our travels! Very cozy, warm, inviting cafe with very friendly and professional staff. It was lovely to be greeted in such a welcoming manner. Old-fashioned charm and service; that’s gold! The food, we had the potato rosti stack with bacon, was fresh and cooked beautifully with that superb home-made taste that’s hard to find nowadays! The coffee is made by a qualified barista and the blend was perfect.
We will be back for sure!
Great spot, especially for those on SH2. Can be very busy at times meaning a long wait for food but enjoyable food and coffee every time.
A gem away from the city! Stopped on the way to Wellington. Had two coffees as it was so good!
Lovely interesting salads, along with fresh food and a great selection...coffee was great too and thats important to me
