The Xiaolongbao (both styles) and bean jelly chilli oil were exceptional. I also really liked the shredded chicken noodles. Worth noting for first timers that you have to go up to the counter to order / grab your own cutlery.

Arrived about 20 minutes before closing and they managed to make us our dumplings super quick just before they closed. We loved the food so much that we came back not even a week later. Best dumplings I’ve had. Must try.

Lovely open space. self service with menus and cutlery. Go to the cashier to order. We had some issues with the english translation of the dumplings implying they were vego but turns out they weren’t so just be careful when you order and have dietary needs. The noodles in broth or dry were delicious! The pork belly too! Servings not in small side so savour each bite! Squid ink buns were massive though! We missed out soup dumplings so suggest coming in early for those

Went here yesterday with some friends and we had a great time. There were a bit of a queue but we got seated pretty quickly. I had the shrimp and it was worth the price. I gave 5 stars because the restaurant was very accommodating. I don't eat pork and they were willing to go extra mile to cook the dishes differently. Best part, the shrimps weren't supposed to be spicy but because the spicy dish I really wanted got pork in the ingredients, they made the shrimp quite spicy. Not to mention, everything was really delicious! Highly recommended!

Some of the best soup dumplings I have ever had. The spicy wontons are also incredible. This is a must see if you like these dishes!

One of my favorite go-to places on the shore. Not only do they serve delicious food, the prices are fair and they are foreigner friendly. I like how they are very hygienic with their disposable gloves and dental masks.

Good tasting but had takeouts so it was hard to engage the quality of food. The pork ribs and glutenous rice dumplings was really nice. The only thing I wouldn’t order again is the fried rice. It was very wet and mushy. But I would come back once restaurants can open, I think food would taste better when served hot on the spot instead of takeaways.

Delicious food. Soup dumpling was my first ever and so yummy! Noodles were very nice and the fried rice with soy. Would return. Stay very lovely, especially friendly and helpful with recommendations. A very busy place for good reason!

Chu Long Ji has the best Shanghai Xiao long BAO all of New Zealand. We have ordered Xiao long BAO and the soup noodle on Thursday night, and the taste is amazing and unbeatable. Their price is very reasonable and food portion is huge. The environment is clean and lovely. We love the decoration and comfy chairs. They also have friendly and nice customer service. We really enjoyed and will definitely come back

Had lunch at this place not too long ago. Generally the servings were reasonable and the prices were affordable. The service was as expected but we like the taste of the food. Looking forward to visit the place again to try their other dishes. Take note that parking is a problem.

This restaurant has some of the most delicious Xiao Long Bao that I have ever tasted. The dumplings were perfectly steamed and the filling was juicy and flavorful. The drunken chicken was also a standout dish, with a rich and savory marinade that had just the right amount of drunkenness to it. The service was also top-notch, with the waitstaff being very attentive and friendly.

One of the best tasting Xiao Long Bao (steam soup dumpling). The taste is very close to Din Tai Fung in Asia. The only slight disappointment in my most recent visit was the dumpling pastry seemed to be thicker than it used to be; impacting the taste slightly. Portion of the other items have also reduced a little. But overall, great restaurant, nice environment and worth a visit.

Dine in a lot of times, nice experience, tiny portions on side dishes and tastes not deep enough to remember, must eat soup noodle bowl, handful of noodles and soya soup. $10.50. Have to order side dishes. The most famous is their steam dumplings.

Great little restaurant. It has homely wooden tables and benches perfect for feeling connected to the people you are with. Our family of 5 had a good time here. Delicious and good food, friendly sweet staff and service from the manageress Lisa and all the other servers, we would definitely visit there again.

Heard a lot about this one came first time today. Very busy restaurant had to wait for about 10 minutes for a table to sit down. The little steam bun somehow reminds me of Din Tai Fung "Xiao Long Bao". They are not there yet thou Others were not impressive. Being really picky with Shanghai delicacies. They are ok to me, that's all.

Highly recommend this place. Customer service is great and the staff were friendly with my non Chinese speaking self. Orders are taken at cashier and not by wait staff. Food was simply amazing. The XLB (Soup Dumplings) were made to perfection from skin to filling. Soup was very tasty. Noodles were firm and a very generous quantity. I’ve been here twice now in 2 weeks. Would go again for sure!
