This place is thriving under the new management. Great menu, great staff and a decent price.
We really enjoyed our burgers and beersies, will come again.
Very nice setting next to the Marina. The service was good and the food was excellent at very reasonable prices. We had the confit duck and our grand daughter had a Caesar salad. My only disappointment was the price of a mocktail at $14 which consisted mainly of juices. Will go again for the food but not the mocktails.
Superb food, we had a large table of people and everything done to perfection. Staff were cheerful and helpful. Good Luck New Management ! We will be back!!!!
I've been dining regularly at this restaurant for some time. Around the middle of 2017, I noticed that an effort was being made to upgrade the class of the place, and I would say it has been improved from "so-so" to "quite memorable". As a result, it has become my restaurant of choice in the area. I've noticed that it is much better patronised than it used to be.
There is a good wine list (I fell in love with the Graham Norton Shiraz). The chef knows what he is doing, and the staff are attentive. The menu is a fixed one, quite imaginative, and gives enough options for repeat diners not to become bored. If the weather is fine, the view down the harbour is stunning. For me, the experience of being there for about an hour and a half once per week has become one of repeat satisfaction. There have been one or two minor glitches, but those have not changed my overview.
I have learned that the local trust intends closing the restaurant very shortly, and this brings me considerable sadness, especially as the efforts to upgrade the experience of dining there have obviously succeeded. I would be delighted if the trust would reconsider its intentions, because I think the patronage would increase as the word gets around that the place is much better than it used to be. Better get there soon!
Gold! It's taken a huge step up and is serving some imaginative food. Add the view to the mix and it's a recipe for success. Well done people.
I really enjoyed my experience here. The food was great and the ambience of the place was lovely. I liked the view you have when sitting outside, but also that you are not completely exposed to the elements. The service was great and very timely. I definitely will be back to try other things on the menu.
Amazing food and amazing service, they also have some great deals throughout the week. The style and location of the bar really adds to the atmosphere.
The food was amazing. Loved the market fish(salmon) and the baked lemon meringue Alaska. Service was very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the amazing views of the marina and harbour
Had a great dinner last night. Service was fantastic from the head waiter. Incredible Customer service, great food and the vibe of the place was great.
Ordered a burger with chicken and potatoes on the side. Very delicious burger, tender chicken meat, soft interior with crunchy exterior potato fries. Overall tasted very delicious and exceedingly fulfilling. The burgers large size caused a little difficulty with eating all the elements together as pieces kept falling out-or maybe it was my messy eating??? Things kept sliding out of the burger as I cut it and it was too big to bite! :D but very delicious and fulfilling meal. Additionally it wasn't an extremely long wait
Decided to try The Flagship for the first time tonight. Excellent service, very friendly and accommodating. They held our table while we sat with our son in the play area, which he loved. Toys and a cool sandpit. Great to have him occupied while we were having pre dinner drinks. Dinner was good, we had the steak and porkbelly mains. The steak was a bit tasteless and the porkbelly main did miss the crackling but was delicious nevertheless. Our son loved his fries but I wish there were some healthier options on the kids menu besides deep fried food and burgers, but this is a common problem. Overall I loved the place, especially as it is so kids friendly. Will def be back, may it be for a couple of afternoon drinks or dinner.
We had an impromptu dinner w. the family @ FMB on Auck Ann weekend, the dj was playing, there was a nice warm sea breeze and lots of people were rolling in @ 6pm for dinner. What a great atmosphere and the staff were really friendly and helpful. Our group ordered an assortment of dishes, fish and chips, the chicken burger, beef burger and pork belly bites. The food was really good and we all finished our meals. If you feel like being somewhere that feels like you're not in Auckland and don't want to travel too far, head over to The Flagship, for a cold drink, some tasty food and overall great time.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS: it was a dark and wet Tuesday evening, but this didn't stop us from dining close to the water. The fresh decor was inviting and definitely made a positive impression.
FOOD: there appeared to be a good range of menu items but I decided on the classic fish and chips with mushy peas. The terakihi was absolutely delicious and went well with the hand cut chunky fries and creamy peas. Served on a funky board and blue and white waxed paper, they are on to a winner. The rest of my table loved their dishes but found them on the big size.
DRINKS: worthwhile to mention the gorgeous blood orange and Cardamom cider. A must!
SERVICE: polite and attentive. Great to see enthusiasm in all the wait staff.
I would happily come here with family and friends. A great place to come with a big group of people.
What a lovely evening. Love the new look - the atmosphere was so friendly and welcoming. Lovely staff, great food and wine.. See you again soon 'F', you're our new local!
firstly, the staff are great. there was a wee mix up with the table we had booked but they very quickly sorted it out. no fuss and very kind staff. the food was excellent and the service great. we ate and drank very happily looking at the boats as the sun went down. the fish of the day (snapper with the skin on) was some of the best of have ever eaten, fresh and very well cooked. my husband enjoyed his fish and chips and our son really enjoyed his brick chicken with the fantastic sauce and curly chips on the side. it was all delivered very well and we are looking forward to coming back very soon during the day on a week day.
Kudos to the staff for a job well done. :)
Love the fresh new look. Had to try this place twice as when they first opened things weren't up to scratch. Now the service is great, the food isn't spectacular but it's pretty good. Will definitely be back. Hopefully we have found ourselves a new local.
Great new fresh interior compared to the tired old fitout. I had the lamb salad while my partner had one of the burgers- pretty damn and a bit of a twist from the usual gastro fare.
Service needs work as there are a number of inexperienced staff who require more guidance.
Will definalety go back for another crack on a Sunday when the sun is out.
Had a great lunch with the family over the weekend - beef anise salad was a hit, Mac n cheese with chorizo also appreciated as was the Pirates club Tshirt and kids meal deal for $15 which was great value - overall good value in a great location
For a laid back harbour bar, their ribs, curly fries, and pizzas were pretty awesome. Basic beer selection but didn't expect anything more. Staff also seemed to know/recognise the local sailors which was good to see. Basic seating benches and such, as again, you're not going here probably unless you just got off a boat, waiting to get on, just finished cleaning her up, or live nearby and are meeting some of your shipmates... At least that's the impression I got.
I came here for a Christmas party, and for this event we had a pre-designed menu. I ordered the Asian chicken salad, which was the only item offered that wasn't seafood (apart from ribs). Its okay that they offered seafood at a marine styled restaurant but there were no vegetarian options available and quite honestly my food was disgusting. It was very salty and almost inedible.
The karaoke was bad as the machine didn't work and gave off a horrendous sound which no one seemed to have a permanent solution for.
I can't say anything for the other dishes available, but the place did appear clean and tidy
Stunning views, beautiful food, friendly service, great prices. Highly recommended. ❤
Lovely food. The seafoods are fresh❤. Difficult to get parking on peak time though.
Fabulous food and service at Flagship Restaurant. When we arrived we were warned of a wait for food to be prepared and served. We had time so did not mind waiting. The wait did not end up being that long anyway. Our meals were all delicious and beautifully prepared. The wait staff very helpful and courteous. To top the evening off the manager arrives to our table with complimentary desserts because he felt we waited to long for our meals. Wow we were amazed by his kindness. Thank you for an awesome evening Flagship. You really know how to treat your customers.
Was there for a birthday function. The place was open and the staff friendly and attentive. The food that came out throughout the night was tasteful and well presented. The drink selection was also good. Only minor downside was the lack of signage showing you the way to the entrance as the whole building is hidden away behind some shops on the watersedge of the marina.
Great place to sneak off to for a few wines and a beautiful meal, with friendly staff thank you
The food was great and came out fast and the service was lovely. My only complaint is that some of the things on the menu weren't available which was very disappointing. But other then that we had a great time here.
Good and kind service, Nice view,
Nice coffee
Nice place, with a number of separate areas. We had a large (33) group outside and it worked well. Lovely meals. Parking was a bit less obvious but it wasn't busy on Sat night so no real issue.
Me and my wife had lunch here on the 5th of July 2016. The food was not only exceptional but the customer service was as well. This will definitely be somewhere we recommend to friends and family members. Awesome vibe and atmosphere I honestly can't compliment this restaurant any more, the staff are definitely a credit to The Flagship.
Great place, feiendly staff and delicious food with reasonable price. Oh, and plenty carpark
We celebrated our engagement with a drinks and nibbles gathering of 50 plus of our friends here on Saturday night. Beautiful location, amazing staff, and great food. Highly recommend!
Nice relaxing restaurant over looking the marina, with nice food and good service. There is an option to sit outside as well. The food was a little pricey but it is of good taste. Overall a nice place to come out to relax. Only issue is that it is hidden in the marina and tucked away from the road.
