Cannot recommend Black Peak Gelato highly enough. We had the truck come out to our wedding and WOW. Jon was incredible, served sooo many ice creams in ten incredibly delicious flavours to over 100 guests and kids. He was fantastic to work with and I am still drooling over the delicious salted chocolate flavour. A.M.A.Z.I.N.G

We had the gorgeous Black Peak Gelato truck come to our wedding to serve all our guests gelato and it was AMAZING! Delish gelato, fab truck and great friendly service. Definitely recommend :)
We have just returned from holiday in Wanaka and i have an allergy son who cant have dairy egg or nut and is limited with certain fruit we thought we would try the blueberry sorbet and it was a hit. We came back a few days later to get some more but didnt realise they change flavours daily. Asked when they would be making more they asked what day we were going home and they made a special batch of the blueberry so my excited 5 year old could have some more before we left. So thank you for making a little boy very happy. We always get excited for our yearly visit to your shop keep up the amazing work and thank you so very much again.

Very good gelato. Nectarine, mango, chocolate (best of the bunch) hokey-pokey, salted caramel. All really good flavours and well priced. Great to see a kids size that is decent and not overpriced. We really liked our visit and gelato - yum
Its on my top 3 best gelato I've ever tasted. The best homemade gelato in all of south island ( or new zealand ? ) visited this place after hiking roy's peak in the afternoon, and be back after dinner at the same day! My favorite flavour were whisky and hokey pokey, and prefered served on waffle cone. Goodness.
2nd time here, we came back to Wanaka just for their sorbet & gelato ♡ It was totally worth our time! My hubby loves it that this time he ordered 2 waffle cones of 3 scoops of sorbet & Gelato. Cray cray! lol.. Anyway, will come back again before we leave Wanaka. :) Flavours of sorbet we had were from fresh Feijoa, Cherry, Nectarine, and Raspberry. Gelato flavours that we had were Maltesers, Nougat, Peanut butter, and Coke/Cola :D
I say this is the best gelato I have tried in new Zealand so far. Ever since I tried it last time I always want to come back again and finally I could. They made sorbet with fresh central Otago fruits, and they are delicious. I will definitely come back again and again.

🏮 Review 🏮 For size, I recommend getting the Kids size as it offers two flavors without being too much. The kiwi and passion fruit flavors are both delicious, but I heard Patagonia Chocolates is even better! I’ll have to try it next time!

They have many flavours of gelato, tried peach and creme brulee, it taste yummy!
Delicious! A great selection of flavours containing a nice mix of seasonal local fruits. The shop was busy on a hot day. Service great and the option of having two flavours in a single "scoop" was something not seen before. The option of adding cookies or brownies to the gelato as well. Definitely worth a visit.
Yummy icecream! Kids serving was perfect to share with my boy. We had a cone almost every day during our stay in Wanaka. Tried and liked the nectarine and cookies & cream flavor.
Awesome selection of fresh, homemade ice cream and sorbets. Having just finished a bike ride, I was quite thirsty and their sorbets were perfect. Just the right balance of icy and creamy with plenty of berry flavor (blueberry and boysenberry)

Great variety of flavors and options. I got two flavors - cookies and cream and salted chocolate both great. We also tried the mint chocolate chip which was very minty. The prices were reasonable and they make the gelato in house. The service was fast and the line moved very quickly, they even took the time to answer our questions about allergens. Would recommend!
Last year we spent 3 weeks in Sicily, the birthplace of gelato. Black Peak’s is as good or better than any we had there.
My parents prefer Patagonia more, but I feel Black Peak is quite good. It taste soft and sweet. The smell is smooth, not as strong as Patagonia. If you want something fresh. This will be a good try.
Caramel gelato was so rich in flavour and had the just right texture! Wish I got to try other flavours. The boss was friendly and happily greeted everyone who entered the shop.
