The Bakery Wanaka - Wanaka - Photo album

Growing up in Wanaka was an amazing experience, and the Doughbin was one of the constants of the town. An iconic bakery, serving up hot and fresh fare on a daily basis. Countless weekends where we would call in here after a game of rugby for a pie and a cream doughnut. Well.... 40 years later and t
What a lovely place, with so nice staff. Great and tasty pies, bagel, sweet bakery all you want for great breakfast or chill after nice walk around the Wanaka lake.
A great place for dessert. If u are a fan of Doughnuts n don’t like oversweet doughnuts such as Krispy Kreme. Give it a try here. U won’t be regret. Their doughnuts are great like long cream doughnuts. Creams are manmade so creamy n tasty. Omg. Pie also great to try. Their panini tend to be
Real good pies you can get while in Wanaka, it says award winning, many varieties to choose but I always like the beef mince and it came out salty and sausage roll was okay. The staff were lovely and smiling.
Beautiful pies and breakfast food. Quick and a good variety. Lovely staff. Good coffees too. Can sit outside and enjoy the Wanaka lake and the mountains!!
Must visit. Pies are so yummy and affordable. Staff were friendly fast and efficient. Store was clean and tidy so much so we decided to sit in store and have our food. Our little girl lived her gingerbread man. We will be back next time in wanaka from the north island.
The pies were delicious! The crust were just nice and the fillings were generous. There were many varieties and our favorite was butter chicken pie. We bought it on all 3 days which we were in Wanaka. A little sad that we would not be able to eat it again. The best pie I have eaten!
Very good pies. Some of the best in NZ. Yummy deserts too. A couple of vegetarian options, but I wish there were more. No Vegan options. A must stop when visiting. Even if you eat elsewhere, get something from here for the road!
Pretty average gravy style mince and cheese pie, and a bland, dry spinach and feta roll. Coffee was pretty good though! If you want a good pie, go to Adams and Eve's, on the edge of town heading to QT.
I ate some really good pies here. Such a memorable few days: skiing in the morning, then a drive back down here for pies on the banks of the most beautiful lake, dreamy really. I particularly enjoyed the roast pork (I think it was), a butter chicken and all of the others.
Decent pies at around 5 dollars. As someone who has eaten many pies I wouldn't really class them as 'award winning'. Pastry was nice. 50 cent tomato sauce was a bit steep. Good for a cheap snack on the waterfront as most other eateries in the area are pricey.
Tried the mince and cheese pie and a sausage roll. We enjoyed both they were more of a classic style with the mince being a bit saucy and the cheese in a gooey layer on top. I also had a latte which was delicious. The pies were good but not the best I’ve ever had. I’d still say that’s a win and I re
Steak and cheese meat pie was delicious and the Danish was amazing. Just watch out for the begger birds outside the shop or else you'll get swarmed.
Good variety of sweet and savoury options, and friendly customer service. The food tastes good, but not on the same level as Fergsbakery. Still a good breakfast/ lunch option if short on time and wanting something simple.
The Doughbin is iconic, and for many international tourists, the 1st time they've ever had a meat pie. Honestly, the pies are the star here. The sweets and sandwiches are okay, but the pies have a range that will allow anyone to find something they like. They're only 3*-4* pies; often a bit light on
Best pies I’ve had in nz so far! Very good price too
