We were lucky enough to get tickets for Logan Brown's Spice Temple. AMAZING meal and fabulous night. We shared a table with two couples and had a great night. Crab curry, shoulder of lamb delivered to the table whole on a platter, rose water doughnuts - and even Sula viognier, Shiraz and Chenin Blanc from India. Thanks for the very memorable night team!

Omg!!!! We went to this restaurant on sat night, had the most amazing degustation 7 course meal!! It was delicious, we were upstairs in the intimate part of the restaurant, was a bit concerned about coming dwn the spiral staircase after 7 courses of food and also 7 glasses of wine, but we did make it surprisingly lol,the waiter was a delightful young lad, student, who also was very professional! Highly recommend this experience as never experienced it before!

My husband and I had the five course wine pairing menu last night and food was amazing course after course . Very inventive tastes and imaginative food selection and preparation that was a pleasure to eat. The wine pairings we thought were perfect and well thought out and the Quality of the wines were some of the best we have had in a very long time globally and we're glad we opted this choice over a bottle from the cellar. I might mention the wine list is outstanding if you prefer to go that route. . The service was flawless in a beautiful setting and we enjoyed a magical evening and highly recommend.

We were there to celebrate our wedding anniversary and opted for the 7 course meal with accompanying wines. The service was excellent, each course and wine was explained to us. The food was stunning to look at and eat and we enjoyed our experience over three and a half hours.

Where do I start? We went for our 30th wedding anniversary and we had the 7 course degustation. It was absolutely amazing. The whole evening was spectacular from the food, the wine matching to the knowledgeable and excellent waiting service. We couldn't fault anything and will most definitely be back on our next visit to Wellington.

Christmas lunch. 4 people. The service was very good. The waiters were very attentive. A 5 course lunch, which included dessert. We mixed different wines with each course. Each course was explained to us. The wines with each course were an optional extra. Three people felt the duck was underdone. 1 person sent theirs back for more cooking. 2 other people didn’t eat theirs. The food was nicely arranged on the large oversized plates. Dessert was a very tasty panna cotta, with berries and morsels. There was no rush to leave this restaurant, which was much appreciated. The cost of our lunch was quite reasonable. We have Christmas lunch at a different restaurant each year. The food at this restaurant is amongst the better restaurants where we have eaten, however the thought in the way of Christmas trimmings such as decorations etc, was non existent. A great to experience, but not for Christmas lunch.

went here a few months ago and forgot to write a review 😅 the service was impeccable, the cocktails amazing but unfortunately the food wasn’t fantastic. it was pretty good, but not the highlight. out sides of mushrooms and potato were delicious, but my main of pork and rabbit pate wasn’t that great - was hoping for some flavour of rabbit but didn’t really get it. still a great night out (:

As always, the meal was a treat - set lunch menu. We tried both the lamb rump and the fish options and both were exquisite. The service was fabulous and the staff were very attentive, informative and they really took the time out to have fun and chat with us, which we really enjoyed and appreciated. As has happened before, Steve Logan was out and about, shaking hands and chatting with patrons. Honestly, that is SUCH a nice touch - don't recall this kind of privelege at any other restaurant...

Enjoyed a set menu before WOW which was very well priced at $45 a head. Had Spinach and ricotta ravioli with beetroot which was superb. Confit duck with noodles and consomme was disappointingly bland. Pannacotta to finish was beautiful except for the white chocolate 'snow' which got a bit gluggy in your mouth. Service was ok although felt a bit like the poor relations stuffed in a corner. I feel this restaurant was a bit pretentious and not sure I'd return.

I had a rare night out with my wife. We ended up at LB on a Friday night, without a booking. The wait staff were very accommodating. We got shown to the bar and were told it'd be a 20 min wait for a table. The bartender attended to us and 20mins later were shown to our table, with an apology for having to wait. So far, service was excellent.

Our waiter explained the menu thoroughly. He recommended the 5 course chefs tasting menu. We went with the recommendation and didn't regret it. Snapper ceviche, paua ravioli, lamb, venison and dessert. Each course explained as it arrived. The food was cooked well and tastes delicious.

Ahh yes the established Logan Brown. After being invited to a dinner here we came a little earlier than our booking (half an hour) but no trouble we were seated right away. With a party of 4 we ordered a bottle of wine for the table as well as two courses plus a dessert platter to share. The food was good. Service great. Ambience, nothing. It was cold and uncomfortable. I'd much rather go somewhere a little less formal with the same food and service.

Logan Brown restaurant is one of the most excellent restaurants I have ever visited. We had a fantastic time dining here on Mother's Day, and my mother in law was definitely made to feel special. The food was absolutely mind blowing, our table and it's outlook was gorgeous, and it is easily one of my fondest dining experiences. Though I haven't visited recently and I came here quite sometime ago, I am still thinking about the taste of the best french fries with shaved truffle that I have ever had.

I came here with a group of friends for lunch. I had the 3-course bistro menu, I was very pleased with the food. The market fish was crispy on one side and the other side is perfectly cooked. The panna cotta was delicious without being too sweet. I was hoping the environment to be a bit more festive for the Christmas period. The service was average, felt slightly unwelcoming.

Logan Brown was opened by Steve Logan and Al Brown years ago, and is meant to be one of the best restaurants in NZ. Obviously that made us want to try it out! Food in NZ has not disappointed us. We’ve had some of our best meals here, and Logan Brown definitely delivered. We had the degustation menu and tried venison for the first time (verdict: like a super lean cut of beef). The restaurant is in an old bank building which adds to its charm.

As a kid I loved food and thinking about being a grown up. When I pictured being older and going to fancy restaurants places like Logan Brown were in my imagination. My experience today, as naffs it sounds, lived up to my childhood dreams. There is something about Logan Brown that I find magical. I love the building with its strange angles, beautiful cornice ceiling and nooks. It is one place where I even enjoy visiting the ladies room. Every time I have been I have walked in and felt like I am now the adult I wanted to be. The food is fabulous too!

Visiting Logan Brown had been on my bucket list for a long time and I was lucky enough to go there not once, but twice for my birthday yesterday (how ironic after dreaming of coming here for years)! My first experience was a lovely surprise high tea organised my dearest friends. We were caught in traffic en route so let the restaurant know we'd be a tad late for our 2pm reservation and they were really gracious and understanding. Upon arrival, they seated us with a smile and explained the menu. We opted for a cheeky cocktail with our high tea and they came out shortly after; quite potent but very nice for a girls day out. Then the main attraction - the high tea! It arrived as a beautiful 3 tier tower of lush looking treats and our server explained each part wonderfully. Everything was absolutely delicious; my favourites were the arancini, whitebait fritter, and the white chocolate profiterole. The staff were also wonderful at obliging and taking plenty of snaps of us to remember the occasion. My only gripe (and this is being extremely pedantic) is that the 3 tiered platter was wobbly on the second level which I would not have expected at an establishment of this calibre.

My husband and I returned that night for the 7 course degustation menu at 8pm. We were seated in a cosy little nook and our lovely server for the night came over to explain the evenings proceedings and get us started with a glass of bubbles. Our meal was divine, the stand out star being the paua ravioli for course 2 which knocked our socks off. Tender paua, freshly made pasta, tangy and rich beurre blanc, and topped with crunchy kumara threads. There was a slight wait for the third course (we actually hadn't even noticed) and the maitre d came over to explain this and offer us some drinks to tide us over. The rest of our courses flowed out nicely and by the end of 3 hour degustation extravaganza we were wonderfully full and had enjoyed a great evening. A special touch was the happy birthday message on my dessert - very thoughtful and much appreciated! The only reason I am not giving this experience the elusive 5 is because my poor hubby was stuck facing the white brick wall for the 3 hours instead of getting to enjoy the full atmosphere of the restaurant.

On a recent weekend visit to Wellington, five of us went to Logan Brown for their early dinner bistro experience. The restaurant is in a lovely old bank building from the 1920's with elaborate detailing. Tables are a discreet distance apart so you're not having to listen to your neighbours. Our wait staff were excellent. The food was interesting and delicious, a sampler plate of entrees and a choice from two mains and two desserts. We all enjoyed our meals and shared a bottle of wine. The price of the set menu is reasonable and a nice way to sample some of Logan Brown's foo

I've always wanted to visit Logan Brown and have heard good things about it. Arrived into Wellington late for work and decided to try them out. The waiting staff were professional and accommodating to my late entry. The atmosphere was just right for a romantic dinner, unfortunately I was alone! I ordered a drink, the paua ravioli and the crispy skin gurnard. The drink and complimentary breads were nice enough, but the ravioli entree was amazing.. I ordered 2 and I wished I ordered 20.. It's was the perfect balance of basil, lemon, butter, al dente pasta with deliciously seasoned paua. Then the gurnard main came and it was a bit of a let-down. The fish was over seasoned and the scampi risotto tasted a bit generic. I liked the flavour combination but the saltiness of the fish took a lot of points off. I feel like it's an exception rather than the norm.. All in all, I enjoyed my visit, but it wasn't as legendary as I thought it would be..

Wow. Firstly the architecture. Amazing. It used to be a bank. The kitchens are down stairs in the old vaults. Ask the waitress for a tour. It's brilliant.

The service and food is amazing. If only they served a decent cider.

To top it off, we had three courses and drinks and it ended up being about NZ$120 per person.

If you make it to Wellington, you must visit this restaurant.

I really wanted to love this place but unfortunately a few things let it down. The starters were pretty good, but the squid was a massive letdown and completely unacceptable in my opinion for a restaurant of this calibre. They were completely flavourless and drenched in oil - it would have been a let down at a pub, let alone a restaurant like this. The main was OK, we had the lamb which was slow cooked beautifully, but the rest of the food on the plate didn't really work in my opinion. It came with beans and an apricot purée which was an odd match and let the meal down for me a bit. I was also gutted because I was expecting the menu they have on their website, which sounded much nicer. For dessert, I was initially disappointed, with a lemon sorbet option or a feijoa dessert. Not being a fan of either, I was definitely disappointed that the "berrymisu" their website mentioned was not an option. However, I have to say, thank you Logan Brown for completely changing my opinion on feijoas. That dessert was divine!

Logan brown. Finally. The Wellington institution. What a setup. Classic music. Great service. Devine food. Work lunch. Had fish n scampi risotto and sides of truffle fries, mushrooms and asparagus. Mushrooms were just brilliant. Cooled perfectly. The fish with the crispy skin. Lovely. Maybe just a little overcooked. Every slightly though. Star of the dish was the pea gravy. Lovely flavour but not at all over powering. Brilliant service. Food came with perfect timing. Couldn't try the dessert sadly. Ran out of time. Hope to visit soon. Fingers crossed.

It was a well presenting food show. I think 70% of the bill paid for the show and only 30% for the flavour of the food. It might be my fault because I don't like strong salty flavour. However the panna cotta was the best dessert I have tried!

It's easy to see why this place has had a constant spot on the "best of" and "great eats" lists.  Completely deserving!
From start to finish, it was a completely delightful evening - and as this is the second stop on our journey to eat our way through Cuisine Guides "Best of Wellington" - it was a welcome respite.

Service:  From the moment we we walked through the door, the FOH was sincerely welcoming and promptly showed us to our seats.  Taking our jackets, water was promptly brought to the table and drinks order taken.  Our waitress was not overly bothersome, but discretely moved around, filling drinks quickly, clearing plates without being asked - very well trained wait staff.

Ambiance: With it's Corinthian columns, the restaurant is softly lit with candles and dimmed lighting.  It creates a cool calm, that's warm, inviting and relaxing.  The choice of background music was interesting without being intrusive and create a great atmosphere.

Food: This is obviously why we dine out right?  The food. I honestly can't say enough about this part of my review.  We opted for the 5-course degustation menu, which for 105 per person, felt represented great value for the quality and range of dishes.  We started with a house-baked roll, churned butter and EVOO and an aged balsamic, this is complimentary while you wait, however, the fruity sweetness with the bold robustness of the balsamic, you could taste the quality in these small bites, and I knew from then, this was going to be an amazing meal!
First starter was Apple-cured Salmon gravalax, salmon belly tartare, scampi popcorn, salmon spicy biltong with a lemon aoili and hand grated new zealand grown wasabi.  They grate it on the skin of a shark to give it more flavor.  It was the best salmon I've ever eaten.  It was bold in flavors and sweetness without compromising the delicate nature of Salmon.  Totally impressed!

Paua Ravioli: This is one of their long-time stays on the menu and a signature dish.  It's easy to see why.  Sweet, tender paua mince, soft, melt in your mouth ravioli delicately layered with a sharp yet creamy white buerre blanc sauce and topped with kumara strings for texture.  Simply unbelievable that they can cram that much flavor and subtly into two small ravioli's.  Definitely try!

Honey-cured Duck Breast: Hands down my favorite.  Mine was a tad on the rare side for me, but the skin was crispy, it came with an air crisp pork crackling, puree of celeriac and an aus jus.  I can't wait to go back and order this dish.  It's probably one of the best things I've eaten at a restaurant and I have eaten at some amazing places all over the world.

Lamb Rack: Served with pea puree, cauliflower puree, broad beans and microgreens.  The lamb was succulent, although, my preference is for hogget which has more flavor, this was good but not the best - I think this is primarily because I grow my own organic lamb and I've gotten spoilt to amazing quality lamb and hogget products.  Still a strong dish

Whittaker chocolate berry marquise: I don't normally eat desserts but this was insane.  Topped with a ginger brittle, a vanilla cream and a berry marquise - presentation was beautiful but the dish was glorious.  A perfect end-note to a marvellous dinner.

All in all, the whole meal ate like a grand symphony of tastes, experiences and passionate dedication to creating amazing food.  The servers explained each dish, and it was very much like experiencing a food tour through the mind of a food genius.  Please do yourself a favor - if you're a foodie, this is a must-eat spot on the Wellington culinary scene.

This is our second visit and first since Logan Browns was sold. I don't think it has lost any of its ambience or food quality and was a very enjoyable evening. We had the 7 course degustation with matching wines and thoroughly enjoyed it (cheese photo missing as we ate it before remembering to take a photo!!). We did think our wine pours were slightly shorter than perhaps some other tables but we weren't there to get drunk so a minor nuance really. Certainly one of the best restaurants in Wellington if not NZ. One minor criticism is that the waiting staff were not in a set uniform - this made them look a little haphazard. Would recommend a visit if budget allows.

At last, my wife & I had a chance to visit Logan Brown. It was a 5:30 early dinner, 3 course bistro menu. Greeted by a cheerful waitress, we were shown to our booked table.

We ordered our drinks (at very reasonable price) and shortly after, 2 different kinds of baked bread were offered. For entrées, we had warmed olives, air-dried beef, smoked kahawai Arancini (fish rice balls), lamb ribs & cauliflower & cheese shot with venison chorizo. The cauliflower shot & lamb ribs were beautifully made & very delicious. For the main, we had crispy skin Tarakihi, Tuatua fritter & celeriac puree, while I had braised lamb neck & 4 bean salad. I had a bit of my wife’s Tarakihi – it’s the best I’ve ever tasted. (I made my point to the waitress and she told us that the chef made the last minute change using Tarakihi because it was available very fresh. Good on the chef and good for us customers.) We were complimented by the chef with skinny fries with truffle parmesan. (A special thank you for that.) For the desserts, my wife had warmed sticky date pudding & orange ice-cream and I had dark chocolate, caramel tart with cream. (I also had a taste of both.) They were both very good. It was definitely a quality dinner.

Another note worth mentioning is the professionalism I see in the wait staff – immediate water-refilling, immediate attention & best of all, sincere smiles all the time. (Food - 5/5; Service - 5/5; Ambience – 4.5/5)

Greetings Fellow Nom Seekers! On a posh nosh quest, I hit up Logan Brown with a colleague. This restaurant is one of Wellington's finest institution situated in the old National Bank of New Zealand building down the corner of Cuba and Vivian Street. From the restaurant decor and the initial welcome we received the moment we step in, we knew we were in for a treat. The host even took our jacket away before sitting us down at our table (don't know many restaurant that still does that). The menu had enough on to satisfy most people and the wine list (looks more like a book to me) was huge. On this occasion, I wished I had skip my 3:00pm late lunch. Instead I had to skip entree and go straight to the main. For the main, I had the "Rangitikei Lamb rack with Napalese Spiced Cheek, Blenheim Lentils and Smoke Yoghurt" with the "Truffled Fries with Reggiano Parmesan" and "Wagyu Fat Potatoes with Habanero Mayonnaise" as the two side dishes. My colleague had the "Reserve Beef Rump with Pear Brais

The salt water fish tank runs the length of the bar at Logan Brown, winner of NZ Restaurant of the Year at the Cuisine Magazine Awards 2009. It's the last thing you'd expect to find in this stylish restaurant, housed in the impressive lofty surrounds of a former 1920s bank chamber. Crayfish in the salt water fish tank Bar patrons often forget about the sea life living quietly beneath their wine glasses. Ok, first up you come to Logan Brown for that amazing fine dining experience, and the price reflects that!

We came for the degustation menu with matching wines as a surprise for my wife.

The wait staff are very friendly and helpful, the make everything easy to understand and make every effort to help you enjoy your experience and explain everything on each dish without sounding snobby or patronizing.

Food was amazing, great atmosphere and a great experience.

Went to pay the bill and they didn't add a service charge! That is very very rare for a place like this.

My sister and I went to Logan Brown while she was visiting Wellington. We both enjoyed the experience. Both the service and food were outstanding. We had the bistro menu, and while we did feel we were rushed to get out by 7pm, the staff were polite and friendly.

I cannot stand pretentious restaurants with overly priced food, small portions, and wait staff with attitude. However, Logan Brown was different. I still would not take my Father, who would be appalled at the small portions, but I would return with friends.

It gives me no pleasure expressing a few negative comments about this iconic five-star restaurant. I hasten to add that the food was absolutely delicious but with one exception. The Logan Brown Special sourdough bread rolls were so hard they couldn't’t be cut with a knife so it took two thumbs inserted and great deal of strength to force the buns open. The inside was undercooked dough and the crusts impossible to eat. Apparently the baker knew they were inedible. Allowing these buns to leave the kitchen was inexcusable.
We were not told of the ‘specials’ until after we had chosen our meals and ordered the wine. Our waitress told us it was company policy not to overload the diner with too much information all at once. Handing out two menus and explaining two specials did not represent information overload in my opinion.
As a starter we had a choice of two varieties of Pacific oysters or the Tio Point oysters (flat).
The waitress was unsure about the term ‘flat’ and at first didn’t know what type of oyster they were but she thought they might be a kind of Bluff oyster. Staff should be familiar with the menu. Otherwise our waitress was friendly, efficient and attentive. The Tio Point cooked oysters were amazing.
For entrees we ordered West Coast Whitebait with Crayfish, asparagus and lemon puree.and the Coromandel Scallops with celeriac, capocolla, Granny Smith and Feta. Both dishes were delicious especially the Whitebait. However I was disappointed in getting only a teaspoon full of crayfish (in a mayo dressing?). It was hardly worth a mention on the menu.
The Lamb Rack was wonderful as was the Venison Osso Bucco. It surprised me that the gremolata was on the lamb and not the Osso Bucco which is traditional. The leaf salad was excellent quality and the truffled fries with Reggiano parmesan, a nice touch.
Logan Brown is regarded as one of New Zealand’s finest restaurants and as far as the food is concerned this reputation is well justified but unfortunately the overall experience revealed its shortcomings.

Amazing, we can't wait to go back. Logan Brown totally deserves its reputation as a top restaurant. The service and food was perfect (best oysters I've ever had) and the ambience is lovely.

Myself and my dining partner were suitably impressed!

We ate here last night, there was 5 in the party. We had the degustation meal with wine matches. The wines were amazing and matched the meal perfectly. For me there were to many meaty dishes by the time I got to the lamb after the venison i was stuffed!! The presentation of each dish was lovely, the service was great. THe waitress had fabulous wine knowledge she was quizzed several times from the patrons at the table!

I think the best way to describe it is: an experience. We went there with my partner for our anniversary and it was absolutely amazing. The staff was really friendly and helpful. We stayed there for about an hour and a half and enjoyed the night together. They gave us a really nice private table so we could celebrate our special occasion. The food was very nice and filling, and we got a very good wine recommended from one of the waitress. A lovely place!

My husband and I have dined at this restaurant a couple of times. Both times we received excellent, friendly service and not too over the top. Our meals were absolutely delicious and not too far apart for each course. Not usually being able to afford pricey meals or even a flash meal out, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. My husband even booked his 42nd birthday in the top level of this restaurant from our first visit and that was the 2nd visit. Everyone enjoyed their meals even though the space was a bit cramped, didn't last for long after a few wines!!!

Fantastic.

Took my partner for her birthday on Monday night. Made the booking via their website. Was rung on Sunday to confirm the booking. When I said it was Sarah's birthday they offered a little treat. We had one of the best meals I've had. Great waitress. Lovely setting, not smothered with other guests.
This is not a eat and dash affair. This is dining and time should be taken.

I had the venison, the black pudding that comes with was the best I've ever had and I have had a few. Was a lovely night and a treat when in the capital.

This was the fourth time I've been to Logan Brown over it's lifetime, and I can say that it's better than ever.

We went on a Saturday night, which offers two sittings (Bistro pre-7.30pm and two degustation menus after 8pm) so we opted for the latter. We were slightly concerned as we were dining with a couple of fussy vegetarians (yes fussy!) ... so for any restaurant to get one (let alone six!) quality vegetarian courses out is a very big ask!!

But leave it to the professionals! Had it not been for my equally stunning 'meat' courses, I would have serious food envy! By the end of the evening we were full to the brim, and very pleased indeed. The only thing I would have done differently was maybe not opted for the wine matches .... either that or NOT go out for pre-dinner drinks!!! :)

Anyway ... we fully enjoyed our meal here thanks to great food, excellent service and good friends. Will be back again.

Logan Brown deserves its good reputation. We enjoyed a fantastic 5 course meal, every stage faultless, wait staff were fantastic and on Que at every stage of the service. The quarts of Tui were a nice touch to bring the place back down to earth, ( I enjoyed 3 just for old times sake and I haven't touched the stuff since being a student 15 years or so ago ). I would not hesitate to recommend a visit to anyone traveling through Wellington, one of the best establishments I have ever dined at in New Zealand.

Absolutely have loved it every time I have been. Been 3 times.

Excellent service! Extensive drinks list. Tasty tasty tasty food. Have sat in all areas, even upstairs, and its a great atmosphere. A nice place to take the dates.

Only niggle is that when we booked for the set menu, I felt as if we were being rushed. Then we were asked if we could sit near the bar to eat our desert to make way for the other set menu bookings. We hadn't been there long either. This I have not marked down for, as everything else, especially the food is in the grand levels.

Great that you can book. But you will need to book in well in advance, as this place is hot!

Will definitely keep coming here. Keep it up guys.

If you have never been to Logan Brown, we can highly recommend it.

Of course most Wellingtonians will know about Logan Brown as it has been treating its diners to fine food for 15 years.

The staff are faultless, with extensive knowledge of the menu, inconspicuous waiting and friendly but not too familiar, it’s a fine line and they make it look easy.

The venue also makes the whole experience feel rather theatrical. With its high ceilings, balcony seating, private alcoves and enormous chandelier.

We dined there on the opening day of Wellington on a Plate (WOAP) for lunch. The Logan Brown WOAP lunch menu is a set menu with matched wine and three courses for $45 per person. Brilliant value. We were feeling greedy on the day, so ordered the Wgyu Fat Potatoes with Habanero Mayonnaise at an extra but worthwhile cost. These little cubes of crispy joy were the best potatoes I have ever tasted.

It's not exactly somewhere I'd go every day but what a special treat when you do! I was taken to Logan Brown recently and given a tip to have the Paua Ravioli for my starter and what a tip it was! The ravioli just melted in your mouth and the flavours were so incredible it had me and my companions wanting to lick the plates. I decided to go for the special they had at the time, pork loin. I have to admit that I thought it was pretty bland and the pork rind hadn't been left to crackle and crisp properly. However, the desert more than made up for it. Heaven on a plate and a beautiful way to finish off a lovely evening and meal. The waitress was an absolutel star and appeared every time we needed her but never pestering. Can't wait to go back for my next visit!

Fantastic place to lunch and dine. I was there this past Monday. Its formal yet the nice and warm atmosphere in the middle of the buzzy Wellington, make this place very special.

The host is a genius in the kitchen...

The wine list (i mean the wine book) is just wow!!

The food is great, the service is fantastic and the deserts are amazing!

I had the fish of the day seared in a divine way, with some mushrooms on the side and a mushroom tart as entree. Just wow!

The dessert i had the pavlova with a scoop of kiwifruit sorbet ( which was up to giapo standard) garnished in a passionfruit sauce.

Look forward to go there again and again and again.

We expected this establishment to deliver a five star evening... and it did.

Fabulous buzz and ambience, clearly a firm favourite of lucky Wellingtonions. Service was up there with the very best I have had in my global travels - sleek, genuine, highly professional - it takes a true pro to establish a connection with a table whilst in the middle of very busy service - and he managed it effortlessly. The food was sublime, and the entire evening was brilliant - not rushed, totally savoured the entire experience. And loved the bar with fish tank! We will be back for sure, next time we are in town.

Sitting in Logan Brown you could be enjoying a fabulous time almost anywhere on the planet, its that good. Food, service, wine list and ambiance are very hard to surpass in NZ. And here they all just ooze a quality that is only arrived at with passion.

The night we went last, there were five of us, I ordered fish which came perfectly cooked and tasting quite delicious. Others at the table were just as complimentary about their choices. Duck I think being lauded with particularly high praise.

Ultimately it's not about price but great value, Logan Brown provides beautiful food, refined service and a dining room of such style its easy to see why LB has been around for so long and continues to shine so brightly.

So, I wanted to write this review closer to another public holiday, because for sure people will start looking at reviews. If you're in Wellington for Queen's birthday and want to go somewhere special GO TO LOGAN BROWN. From the decor, to the menu, to the service, our experience was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Even though the place was busy, the servers were all friendly and helpful, and one even offered to take a photo of my friend and I, which I really appreciated. The food was also amazing! Their 3 course menu had amazing options and the portions were big enough to be filling and very much worth the price. They were accommodating, professional and so very hospitable. I would definitely go there again. Many thanks to Ajay, who provided us such amazing hospitality that my friend and I couldn't stop talking about our meal at Logan Brown for days on end. You've elevated our experience and made it truly special.

Thanks for the fantastic evening! The service provided by David K was outstanding, he was absolutely lovely and even told us about the history of the building. Everyone was really lovely. The food was delicious, we both really enjoyed out mains and even the side of brocollini was mouth-watering. Dessert was perfect too. The time between dishes was great as we waited for dessert we were more and more ready. Look forward to dining here again in future!

This was an incredible dinner, both in the sense of food and service. They made one small mistake and went completely out of their way to fix it in the kindest way possible. The location is beautiful and there is a nice ambiance. The tasting menu is very well-priced, especially considering that you get very good-sized portions - we both left feeling very full. I can really see why this is an award-winning restaurant! (I have just one photo of the dessert, but all of the food was great)

This was my first time experiencing Logan Brown and wow what an experience it was. The food was delicious, the service impeccable and the building itself stunning. Only downside was that the cocktail list was not very exciting. The food however more than made up for that.

The $75 three course menu was excellent value for money for gourmet-Master-Chef-quality food. I had the red onion tart, then pork belly main and espresso mousse dessert with broccolini and garlic mushroom sides. We also got 2 pieces of freshly made bread and their 2 options of amazing, creamy, flavoured butter. Everything was beautifully presented and delicious. The staff were really friendly, professional, neatly dressed and knowledgeable about the food, and the restaurant was bustling with lots of customers. Highly recommended. I'd definitely go back again. 😀👍

We dined at Logan Brown for my husband's birthday. It was the right choice for us because he wanted something intimate and cozy. Logan Brown changes their menu every 3 weeks or so. It was the first day of their new menu. We ordered from their Logan Brown Bistro Menu @85.00 each with one wine match for $55.00 and I got myself a refreshing lychee mocktail. To start we had the homemade sourdough and raisin bread with salted honey and garlic butter. Entrée, we had a vegetarian dish and rabbit meat. Rabbit meat was paired with a red wine from Italy. Mains, I had their potato and gnocchi - which for my taste pallet was a bit salty, but they did offer to give me something else, which I didn't take cuz you know it was about my husband that night and not me haha. On the other hand, my husband really enjoyed his snapper which was paired with a Chardonnay from NZ. Had some broccolini on sides too to go with our mains. We finished with some desserts, I had the espresso mouse and my husband got dessert with happy birthday written on it and served with a glass of Resiling from Marlborough. Our total with tips was $260. Our server was Ajay he was very sweet and accommodating to my dietary needs. The service was smooth and timely. My husband really enjoyed, so I am happy too. Thanks :)

Best start with the paua ravioli. 💯 Recommend for $12, make sure you keep some of the bread to mop up the sauce afterwards. Our service was slow from the kitchen which we think really impacted the food. Stracciatella was a little bland, the pear and radish accompanying it didn't add much. Duck and hapuka was slightly over but still had crispy skins. Hierloom carrots were over done, prefer them al dente, but maybe that's personal preference. Espresso and cardamon mousse was so over powered with cardamom it tasted like soy sauce, couldn't taste any coffee it in. Would go for the parfait or cheeses over that.

Love this restaurant. The quality and presentation of the food is amazing as is the service. Lovely ambience with well spaced tables. Great selection of cocktails and wines. We selected 3 courses from a set menu for $75 and although limited there were amazing dishes to select from, covering seafood, meat, poultry and vegetarian options. Thanks for lovely night LB.

Had a set course meal at Logan Brown before heading out to the orchestra. The atmosphere was elegant but not stuffy. The food was delicious, bringing together conplex flavors, and just the right portion sizes. As a foreigner, I've never said this in NZ, the service was excellent. Highly recommend!

We ordered the seven course Saturday night degustation menu. We found that some of the dishes just didn't come together the way they were intended. The best dishes we had were the old favourites, e.g. the paua ravioli. Service was excellent, and we were very full afterwards. Pricey and not sure it lived up to the hype. Coeliacs are catered for, though you will need to mention this when ordering.

A classic in Wellington. Not the most modern decor but you know you are here for a fine dining experience the moment you walk in. The high ceiling, the warm lighting, the dark green couches, the professional greeting from the wait staff. Their food is simply excellent. The beef carpaccio with the horseradish panna cotta was clever and insanely tasty. The venison main was well balanced and delicious. The pan fried snapper was the most perfectly cooked according to my wife. The desserts were complex but not as impressive as the entrees and mains. In short, a perfect place to celebrate a special occasion or fancy night out.

Logan Brown is definitely one of the best restaurants I ever dined at. I had a gift card for the 5 course dinner for 2 for my birthday. Unfortunately my partner could not be there for the dinner and we had to find a solution. The manager was very lovely and agreed to provide me with the 7 course dinner + wine instead to match the gift card value. The dinner was absolutely exceptional and the wine matches were fantastic. The restaurant accommodated my vegetarian diet and made me feel amazing even though I had to enjoy my birthday dinner by myself. Absolutely excellent service! I will be back next time I'm in Wellington!
